Nah. Despite being redacted in some parts (the doc is labelled “foi-xxxxx”) it shows a fawning obsequiousness to outsource thinking on this to Phizzzer and the FDA.

But, a lot of the rumours are true. This shot works its way around the body and pops up in places like the ovaries etc and the cell nucleus. There isn’t much elucidation as to why that is either cool bananas or terrifying, so the TGA defers to Phyzzer.

Just an observation, and maybe shy ted can add to this, there is a huge difference in seeking consent amongst the levels of ‘medicine’.

When I did my phlebotomy course we are told we get one chance to jab someone, but only after getting positive consent. Personally right before I stick someone I would ask ‘is this okay?’. Words to that effect. Th

I went down the other month to get a standard booster for whooping cough at the pharmaline joint and received no such luxury. In hospital the same, no consent was asked.

Then we have old mate, Dr John Campbell, presenting a WHO paper on aspiration for this particular shot and it gets ignored by our local scrub monkeys. This entire thing is a two year shit show of ignorant over educated nobodies getting fucked up the arse whilst jerking off midget chinese cock, aka, of no discernible benefit to society.

Its enough for us semi depressed types to OD on cane cutters cordial.

The ASX200 saw more than $69 billion in value evaporate on Thursday, in the worst day of trading since September 2020, as Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military incursion in Ukraine.

The benchmark index plunged at the open of trade and lost more value as the day wore on, closing down 3 per cent or 215.1 points to 6990.6.

Every single sector finished Thursday in the red with tech and materials stocks suffering the most, down 6.4 per cent and 4.3 per cent respectively. Mining giants were hit by slumping iron ore prices which were responding to concerns regarding demand prospects in China.

    Hello All,

When the blog was set up, the idea was to have it as a total free speech site. That experiment did not work. So moderation policies had to be added. If you scroll to the second comment under that link:

    Your blog Adam, your rules.

There was an incorrect analogy made on the OT, earlier this week. To set it right:

The blog is “public” in that it can be viewed by anyone with access to the internet.

The blog owner (“landlord”) decides on the rules and who should be allowed into the site (“bar”) to comment. As well as who should be allowed to stay in, as a commenter.

It is a private blog (“bar”) in a public space. Owner’s blog – owner’s rules.

The blog follows a No Dickheads Policy – which is not limited to just trolls. And it is enforced.

All others who wish to take part in the threads and discussions are welcome. This blog supports free speech (within the rules). Self-moderation helps in blog admin.

Some of you may remember that on the previous blog, there were hamsters that caused havoc on the site. The blog owner was planning on a new blog system, but finally decided to close the site.

This blog has that same old system. There is a pending list of bugs on the back-burner and they involve the same old hamsters. The blog Tech Team is busy with other priorities. They will get to the bug list when they have the time. The bugs are not show stoppers. The site has been running for several months, even with those bugs. Many of you have been good enough to work your way around the problems.

You’re right, Ragu, huge difference. Paperwork is clear cut. On the ground it’s about how busy you are. Eg. Lots of injuries in EDs, “when did you last have a Tetanus?” Usually no idea. “Better give you one”. “OK”.
There’s enormous trust in health professionals and in country areas they can have Godlike status. You need to sign consent before operations but there are so many variables and considerations it just ain’t so. Most folks just want a relief to their suffering and so it’s trust.
I did my phlebotomy in 1987 on nice veiny arms. Ha! Not like real arms at all and I never got to expert level. Some people do, usually by feel. As for getting the vein first time, I offered an alternative person if I wasn’t sure. And I mean sure cos I’ve missed plenty. But the alternative person was in the same “unsure” boat.
When I was in mental health there was no consent about it. Ordered under the Mental Health Act and in 99.99% justified.
And I’ve seen new nurses get tied up in all sorts of unwanted knots trying to do what the paperwork says they have to, usually by causing unnecessary anxiety with adverse reactions.
if you don’t aspirate on an IM injection you’re a criminal. If there’s blood you have to make a call. Aspirate a bit more, more blood? Stop. Sometimes a drop of blood appears on the skin, sometimes not. It’s about knowledge and judgement.
And as each year went by I became increasingly concerned at the calibre of increasing numbers of nursing students and graduates.
And don’t get me started on what psychology and social work were turning out. Nucking futters.

I am obliged to get annual blood tests to tick the box that allows my GP to prescribe decent painkillers for arthritis. Over the years, I’ve had several different people take blood for these tests, and oh boy – there is a huge range of skill.

The good ones do it so that I hardly feel a thing and all that remains is a tiny pinprick. The lousy ones hurt and leave a plum sized and cloured bruise that made my GP wonder if I was a closet junkie (‘what is that?’ in a very suspicious tone) when I saw her a week later. Until I explained, much to our mutual relief.

My veins are not hard to find, BTW, they are quite visible, and my arms are slim.

I hate to think what the standard of injections delivered by all and sundry because COVID must be like.

    Hello Egg,

You can now apply for a $50 Stay NSW Voucher if you’re 18 and over.

The voucher can go towards the cost of booking a stay while helping support NSW accommodation providers impacted by COVID-19. You can use it at hotels, motels, resorts, caravan parks, camping grounds and more.

Find out which accommodation providers accept Stay NSW Vouchers and start planning your break away.

You have until 9 October 2022 to use your Stay NSW Voucher.
    Changes to COVID-19 rules

The following restrictions have now eased:

    Mask rules reduced
Wearing a mask indoors is recommended when you can’t maintain a safe distance from others and for customer facing retail staff. It will help to protect you, and those around you from respiratory viruses.

You now only need to wear a mask on public transport, planes, and indoors at airports, hospitals, aged and disability care facilities, corrections facilities, and indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people.

    Larger music festivals
There’s no limit to the number of people allowed at music festivals, and singing and dancing are permitted. You must have had at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to attend a music festival with over 1,000 people.

    Reduced hotel quarantine times
Unvaccinated passengers are now required to enter hotel quarantine for 7 days.

Non-urgent elective surgery back on the table
We’ve partly returned non-urgent elective surgery to our public hospitals across NSW, which will increase in stages throughout March.
