    Because of their experience with the resurrected Jesus, the apostles were in a unique position, knowing with certainty that Jesus was truly the Son of God.

    The actions of the Apostles can only be explained is we accept that they believed in the resurrection. Why would any sensible Jewish fisherman risk the retribution of the Roman Empire unless he truly believed?
