Mark, I’m sorry that free speech in the fullest sense makes you (and apparently a lot of others who are now congratulating themselves elsewhere) so uncomfortable.

Again I may have missed the point, I do not want anyone banned, period.
But if say you were a moderator with the power to remove an offensive post and be here at the time of posting, then that’s all would be required.
    ————————————-
Maybe I am missing the point.

It sounds suspiciously like the Left’s ‘words are violence’ crap.

Adam has periodically purged the sewage we are speaking about. So, your complaint is that he is not doing it as quickly as you would like? That the words are violence?

I’d hate to lose your pics, but especially for mysterious reasons. 🙂

Monty, I love that euphemism for what in fact is a debacle. “Screwed up” is being a bit of an arse and getting the wife off-side. And “getting it done” as people are falling from planes to get out of the place is not a successful op. But you know that already.

Breast cancer screening appointments suspended across all of NSW in response to lockdown

Happened in Victoria in April 2020, and the devastating results have already been documented in the Lancet.

“Combined with interruptions in cancer screening programmes and delays in scans and diagnostics, a spike in late cancer presentations and diagnoses is anticipated, making some previously curable tumours more difficult to treat and, unfortunately, further excess deaths unavoidable. This problem prevails internationally, even in countries praised for their management of COVID-19; a study estimated that in the state of Victoria, Australia, around 2500 cancer diagnoses were missed during the first 6 months of the pandemic.”

As for the remark that the Afghans were cowards, the Afghan army sustained more casualties per year than the US army did in the entire 20 year occupation.

Roger – They aren’t cowards, but they don’t want to fight the Taliban who are widely regarded as more observant champions of Sunni Islam.

There is an interesting parallel with the Western Desert campaign in 1940-41. Graziani’s infantry divisions at Sidi Barrani were manned by conscripts. Those guys didn’t want to fight for Mussolini and surrendered as soon as they could. Then, shortly after that battle, when the Australians arrived at Tobruk for the first time it was the same: despite the strong engineered defenses which proved so useful for 9th Div in the siege the Italians would fire one or two shots for appearances, then surrender as the 6th Div guys assaulted the posts.

When Rommel arrived he was able to draw upon the more professional Italian divisions like Ariete and Trento, but even then during El Alamein the 9th Div found that Italian regiments were carefully deported with German battalions and regiments between them, and the Wehrmacht guys were tasked with keeping the Italians facing forwards. Which they still didn’t do if they could get away with it.

Having said this there was nothing wrong with the Italian soldiers, even the conscripts. In certain cases they fought like tigers. But the guys just didn’t want to fight for Il Duce.

Hence the bug out in Afghanistan, once the stiffening Americans were no longer there. The guys certainly didn’t want to fight for the corrupt regime or their corrupt officers, and certainly not against holy warriors of Islam.

“Afghanistan: fleeing president ‘had cars and helicopter full of cash’

As the Taliban closed in, President Ghani is said to have insisted on a dignified exit from Kabul. When the end came, it was anything but.

The president of Afghanistan fled his palace headed for Tajikistan, and then issued a statement on Facebook: “To avoid bloodshed, I thought it would be better to leave.” Within hours, Taliban militants were filmed posing in his presidential office.

If reports from the Russian government are to be believed, and they are no friends of Ghani, he was followed out of his presidential palace by a motorcade and a helicopter loaded with cash.

“As for the collapse of the [outgoing] regime, it is most eloquently characterised by the way Ghani fled Afghanistan,” a Russian embassy spokesman told the RIA news agency yesterday.

“Four cars were full of money. They tried to stuff another part of the money into a helicopter but not all of it would fit, and some was left on the tarmac.”

Condemnation and mockery of Ghani, 72, has been swift from Afghan leaders left behind to negotiate a handover of power to the Taliban and the civilians who stormed Kabul airport on Monday in desperate hope of a flight.

Biden screwed up while doing it, but at least he got it done in the end.

But my main point – and what gets on my goat – is that Biden smeared the footsoldiers of a national army that had been an ally for 20 years after having abandoned them to their fate – deliberately, one can only conclude as we learn more about the withdrawal process Biden presided over. US veterans – and I’ve heard it from a couple of Australian vets too – are rightly trashing him.

These remarks are not only insulting and disrespectful to Afghanistan, they are dangerous as they compound the global decline in trust that the US had been experiencing since Bush 43.

Smiting him for holding offensive views is another. And which views?

Precisely, I don’t care about his general rants, I scroll his posts, but when he goes overboard with his antisemitism and on top blamed Cassie personally I think that’s a line where he should be stopped.
Not banned, just delete his comment, he is not stupid, if those kinds of comment disappear he will restrain himself, he proved that he can do it.
But it has to happen in a timely manner not 3 days later.

Other than him can’t think of any other.

(no I don’t want to be a hall monitor myself)

    Calli,
Although i am on twitter you can still view threads without logging in if you follow a link, say this one from Gillian Dempsey (https://twitter.com/catedempsey/status/1427767370932572163) on a browser that you have not used to log on to Twitter with. So open this Cat fred on say edge, click on the link and you can view the thread without logging in.

Once there you can also search for and view threads from morons that have blocked you.

    TISM – What are ya?

Ok, there’s M0nty’s blog too. I wonder what TISM would think of M0nty?

    I am very sorry Slayer.

Seconded from me Brislurker and other Cats.

Commiserations Slayer for what it’s worth. God’s creation has many wonderful things in it to enjoy, but this human stuff right now is like wearing ankle chains. Trudge and suffer. My old mum said this when I was talking with her on the phone a short while ago (I’m not allowed to visit) – she said it was like a huge weight on her and everyone else’s brains.

The elites don’t understand what harm they are doing to us.

One conclusion you can draw. If a hooker cannot even manage to spread the virus, the chance of spreading the virus by walking along the beach is near impossible. Yet what do cops do? Go to our beaches and book people.

mh really transmission did not occur at work . That out out of the mouth of Foley who said no family visits because everyone hugs and kisses But brothels ok . So all activities are conducted wearing full PPE.? Contact tracing maybe causing some embarrassment

This, apparently, doesn’t qualify as worth publishing news in the media today ..

Lone outpost still holding out against the Taliban: Afghan vice president
and the son of a dead legendary military commander rally forces in
Panjshir less than 100 miles from Kabul
Amrullah Saleh and Ahmad Massoud are rallying troops to launch a
counter offensive from the Panjshir valley – the only region not under
Taliban control. It has never been captured by the group.

Our current President is holed up in a basement; won’t answer any questions from the press.

Our last President is banned from social media and silenced.

Our only news source on Afghanistan is from the Taliban, who hold press conferences and have an uncensored Twitter account.

The CHO’s latest orders state that brothels are closed so one must assume that she was working from home like so many others.
