Key decision made in Bruce Lehrmann defamation case

Former political staffer Bruce Lehrmann has been given the green light to proceed with his defamation claims against two media giants after a decision in the Federal Court.

Justice Michael Lee ruled in favour of allowing the proceedings on Friday after a bitter legal battle over whether the lawsuits were permissible after they were lodged after the deadline.

Mr Lehrmann launched defamation action in March against News Corp’s News Life Media, Network 10 and journalists Samantha Maiden and Lisa Wilkinson.
