I’m amazed that you, James have not publicly apologised for only now coming to the realisation that Jeremy Corbyn was attacked and vilified for having the opinions you are only just now discovering and you yourself happily branded him anti-semitic. Anti-Zionism Ruled Protected Speech

A tribunal decided in February that Prof. David Miller was unfairly dismissed from the University of Bristol for allegedly making anti-semetic remarks. The written judgement says it was not antisemitic to criticize Israel for apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide. The tribunal ruled that taking those positions are “worthy of respect in a democratic society.”

It was a significant ruling at a time when journalists who dare criticize Israel’s behavior in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon are under increasing pressure, in some cases having their homes raided or being questioned at British airports under the U.K. Terrorism Act.

I’ve received a lot of serious threats from powerful Jews saying if I don’t stop posting about Israel and the Talmud, I’ll be jailed or killed. My answer is f..k you. There is a war going on between good and evil. You will be tested

This is October 2024. It is a war between good and evil. You have to choose which side you are on – good or evil. There is no fence for you to sit on.

I hear radio callers and others wimp out with statements like:
What is happening to the people in Gaza is sad, but we are here in Australia.
We can’t do anything about it. There are no solutions.
Hamas started it. Israel has a right to defend itself. Hostages…

    blah, blah.

That is all a cop-out. You have to say publicly where you stand on this war. To be prepared to talk about it. There is no bigger issue than this one. The facts are available along with the media propaganda. Decide which news reports you want to believe and choose your side.

You’re Not Crazy. This Genocidal Dystopia Is Crazy.

And the majority is wrong now. The ones flagrantly supporting Israel’s abuses are wrong. The ones who try not to think too much about what’s being done in Gaza and Lebanon are wrong. The ones who say it’s all so tragic and heartbreaking but it’s oh so very complicated and Israel has a right to defend itself are wrong….

… The ones who know it’s a genocide but don’t respond to this reality with the appropriate level of urgency, forcefulness and focus are wrong.

….Don’t look to others to evaluate your own level of clarity. In a civilization that has gone insane, you have to sort out what sanity looks like for yourself. When our leaders are throwing their support behind an active genocide in a society that is awash with propaganda-induced delusions, we’ve all got to be brave enough to stand on our own two feet.

Chicago-based human rights organization Justice For All has deemed the bombing of the historic Church of Saint Porphyrius in Gaza by Israel a “war crime” in a new legal filing submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

See thread (a few points for those who can’t)

    – For those reading, the late Sheldon Adelson donated millions to Trump in 2016, in return for moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and recognizing the occupied Golan Heights as part of Israel. His wife has donated $100 million to Trump this year.

    – Miriam Adelson — who has dual US and Israeli citizenship but is said to reside mostly in Israel — has reportedly given Trump and his presidential campaign $100 million in return for support for Israeli annexation over the entirety of the West Bank if he regains the White House.

    – More than 2.2 million Palestinians live in the occupied West Bank, of whom more than one third are children 14 years old and younger.
Ethnic cleansing of the West Bank is part of Israel’s larger campaign of genocide targeting the Palestinian people

    – During Trump’s WH tenure, the Adelsons secured the relocation of the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a symbolic victory for supporters of Zionism that contravened the intl community’s view of east Jerusalem as occupied territory

It also remains unclear whether these funds were even spent on climate-related initiatives intended to help low- and middle-income countries protect people from the impacts of the climate crisis and invest in clean energy.

    OCTOBER 22, 2024 12:22

The Defense Ministry is attempting to reach an agreement with the family of IDF Staff-Sergeant David Bogdanovskyi, who fell in battle in the south of the Gaza Strip in December, to remove a cross from his headstone.

“By law, it is not permissible to place a cross or any other religious marker on a military headstone,” the ministry said. The family said that other graves in the cemetery have religious markers on them, N12 reported.

“This is especially important in the Haifa military cemetery, where fallen Jewish soldiers are also buried,” the ministry added, citing a ruling by the IDF Chief Rabbi that states that the holiness of the Jewish cemetery is harmed by the cross.

The ministry said it is working with the public committee for soldier memorial to reach an agreement with the family “in light of requests by families whose loved ones are buried nearby, who claim that the cross hurts their feelings and their ability to pray and say [the] Kadish [mourning prayer], and in light of the ruling of the IDF chief Rabbi.” …

Shakespeare called a speaker a prater. Eliza Doolittle sang about words, words, words. Psychology 101 has us acknowledging a problem and taking action (as well as talktalktalking about it). Business – or any outcome-focused endeavour – would have us asking what are we actually achieving. As comforting as words may be – and are – what conclusion are we, the people to draw from the fact that most ‘public thought leaders’, even ‘freedom movement leaders’, will only go ‘so far and no further’ – perhaps understandably enough – but all the while urging us to “Be brave! Speak out (just within these parameters, sorry, thank you)!”? They show us their boundaries by what they will, and won’t, say. These are people with greater power, resources and influence, and more extensive connections, than so many scattered ordinary individuals. What conclusion to draw other than that talk of defending “Our Democracy” is the stuff of dreams, fantasy? Would the ‘thought leader’ / ‘freedom leader’ conversation at least be more honest if it owned up to a perception of the inescapability of Their Tyranny, its deadly, destructive effects, and how powerless, helpless even, are ordinary people? But we can talk. And go on talking in circles. Of endless tomorrows.

There will be many pro-lifers (politicians and the public), here in Australia and in the Western world, who will tell you that they are against abortion because it is the killing of an innocent human being.

Israeli settlers demolish structures in Palestinian community near Hebron: Report

Israeli settlers have destroyed Palestinian-owned residential structures in the Jurat al-Kheil community east of the town of Sa’ir, near Hebron, in the occupied West Bank.

More than 15 residential structures were completely demolished and the belongings of Palestinians residing in them were confiscated, according to a resident quoted by the Palestinian Wafa news agency.

The families were reportedly taken by surprise by the demolitions, and only learned of the destruction when several community members managed to reach the area. They had been forced to leave two days earlier due to increasing threats from the settlers.

At the end of last month, dozens of settlers dressed in military attire stole 300 sheep and physically assaulted locals, also confiscating their cellphones and issuing death threats, Wafa reported.

The Israeli Defense Ministry has ordered the family of a fallen Christian soldier to remove the cross from his headstone.

The chief rabbi of the IDF said the cross “hurts the holiness” of the Jewish cemetery.

Why does any Christian support Israel?

    “hurts the holiness”?

This story didn’t seem real. A crucifix is “unholy” enough to be slung over the rearview mirror of a car in a Hollywood movie, as memento of a brief affair; a cross too “holiness-hurting” for the tombstone of Christian soldier? And yet, as you say, it’s okay to abut “Christian” in other countries’ cultural referencing.

The Jewish rabbis don’t allow a Christian cross anywhere near the graves of the Chosen Ones in Israel.

This is real news to me. But Jesus did warn about Christians being persecuted for His sake.

An Asian friend used to object to the ‘front-loading’ of “Chinese”/[insert other nationality etc]-“Australian”, for the suggested dominance of the first over the second. We mindlessly absorb so many expressions, trusting in some sort of collective cultural wisdom that was never really there.

I think, when it’s next my turn, kaysee… whereas the Hollywood one was looking backward, to something I enjoyed when I didn’t really understand what it was all about, what god it served… next time, maybe something around the theme of persevering in seeking out and trying to create some goodness and beauty in this fallen world, notwithstanding what we know now, and being surrounded by so many who still don’t know, and may never…

Andrew Bolt is very good when he speaks on behalf of ordinary people and their basic struggle to feed and house themselves in modern Australia.

Sadly, as he must know, it’s a bit rich to be invoking a constitution that was tossed out the window when it suited the government and media, and name-your-institution.

Rulers have a duty, too: to protect the people; to promote their rights and welfare.

Not here a knighthood , there a knighthood

Never mind a lone attention-grabbing cry of “you are not my king”. We’ve been picking our way through fields of shattered oaths this past half-decade.

It’s a shame people have to subscribe to one these MSM publications to comment directly.

I can imagine that the writers sometimes wish they could write about other things, too – of goodness and beauty, if not truth.

Have to wonder now how much of that “history” was actually a beat-up.

The pro-Trump soundbite seems a calculated attempt at further conditioning and corralling of the masses – Catholics, “freedom-lovers”. Mel Gibson, of Braveheart: They’ll never take our Freedom fame:

…I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You’ve come to fight as free men. And free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?…Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live, at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!

We get that “at the movies”. “In real life” it’s “Stay safe”, “Get vaccinated, get boosted”, “Vote Trump, Father of the Vaccines”.

We watched Gallipoli in a high school history class, the teacher remarking on the “beautiful” young Mel Gibson. Beautiful young men sacrificed at the evil altar of their wars.
“Push on!”, says the older man “behind the scenes”.

He did have a “name ten” thing, didn’t he. But that was for a ‘permitted topic’. Evidently, they have their ‘parameters’ – climate change, Aboriginal affairs…but not how our “democracy” is run from the outside, as Nick Hudson said they all are.

I’d like to see one of our journalists explain to Christians why it’s acceptable for the cross on that soldier’s tombstone to be forcibly removed. Why is that sort of discrimination against Christians okay? It’s not really something that can, or should, be waved away with “here, have another piece of babka”.

Thanks, Esme and mh, for keeping the site rolling on with a variety of news, opinions, rants, movie clips and music. It is good to have a bit of light breaks from the grim and sombre news.

I have often tried to encourage serious readers (that is, non-trolls, non-d- -kheads) to join in as commenters but to no avail. However you, Esme, only a few months ago, made the decision to step in tentatively at first, but then have gone on to become a regular poster sharing the news as well as your views, ideas, opinions and suggestions. You had never before posted on this blog. Which shows that anyone who values having a free speech site can take part if you decide to do so. It may seem awkward in the initial stages, but gets easy after that.

Esme, your contribution to the blog is much appreciated.

Onto the final lap of the US Election campaign.

Until Jan 2021, I was on the Trump-MAGA train. I thought that Trump had won the 2020 election, the Dems had stolen it, Pence was wrong to certify it.

Around Feb 2021, I came across some info about Jan 6 that set off a few alarm bells in my head. The more I checked into it, the more I realised that the truth may not be what I thought it was. A few months later. I started posting what I came across on the blog (Sinc’s) and later here. I faced pushback from those who were still chugging along with Trump-Maga.

For the past 3 and 1/2 years I’ve posted what I have been learning. I had shifted to a neutral position – just observing and looking for facts. I’ve shared a great deal on this blog. If you read this blog regularly, you’ve had the opportunity of having not just opinions (which can be biased) but also facts with links to prove them. So if you are still TrumpTrumpTrump …. well, that’s your choice.

Why should the US Election matter to us, here in Australia?

The US is one of our biggest allies so their politics affects us.

But this also matters to Conservatives here and in the western world – especially social Conservatives. Trump has sidelined the policies and requirements of Conservatives and has moved closer to the left to appease voters in hope of gaining their votes. In other words, sell out your own supporters in the belief that they will vote for you anyway, and cater to the other side.

See what is happening here in Australia. The so-called Conservative Party, the Liberals, are following the Trump playbook.

When it came Assange, it was the Liberals who did not support his release. Free speech? Dutton was concerned about upsetting our friends in the US, not the freedom of the press and the unjust imprisonment of an Australian citizen.

On the subject of genocide, they are doing what their US allies tell them to do.

When it comes to abortion, Dutton is repeating what Trump says.

So, if you are a social conservative, the Libs are not going to care about what matters to you. They want to take a line that will get them the votes from the left side. Because they are confident of your vote. Who else are you going to vote for?

If the Trump formula works, Conservative parties all around the world will see it as something to emulate.

There are the partisan hacks who will vote for their candidate no matter what that person says or does. No matter what evidence is provided about the lack of fitness of that person to be the President of the country.

It is called a cult – with good reason. It is on both sides. They are cheering for their wonder girl or boy. They’ll turn themselves into pretzels to explain away any inconvenient mess-up from their nominee.

A section of the US and world citizens have seen through the sham and have become non-partisans. Most of these are on the Conservative side, but there are a few who would have been regarded as lefties, but the show in November is too far out for them, as well.

Who is going to win? The favoured candidate of the puppet masters is Donald Trump. The reason is the benefits to the agenda. If Donald says Digital ID good, Maga will rush to sign up. If Donald says get vaxxed for Dodo Pox, the cult will agree. If Donald says, West Bank belongs to Israel, cult will say: Yay.
But, no stress. Kamala will be suitable puppet too and will perform as required by the masters.

There is no such option as lesser of two evils. Both the candidates represent evil – just different kinds. Neither is lesser in form or degree.

Because there are many links, I am going to use the shortcut method. You can click the links and read what the tweet or info in the link says and work out its meaning.

The subject matter is related to the US Elections:
Uniparty, “America First”, lesser of two evils and the views/opinions of some critical thinking voters/world citizens.
