I haven’t seen Chilli here since the comment last week. Not received any Posts through email to publish on any topic.

Chilli’s first comment broke the blog rules but I decided to let it in to give the chance to post freely on any topic. The blog was accused of not being free speech by someone who had never posted here, had not been blocked or banned, didn’t know the blog’s No D**kheads Policy and the rules which I have repeated many times.

Chilli, you were given the chance for free speech and you didn’t take it. One week has passed. You have not posted any comments or emailed articles for the blog. Your first and only comment showed you don’t know the blog policy which is enforced here.

You are just a troll and will not be allowed back on this blog.

I only check the blog to see that the rules are being followed and that there are no system admin problems in the back-end.

The posters who have been blocked or banned have been due to not following the rules. NO ONE has been banned for their opinions, disagreements or comments on any other issues.

We could increase our blog traffic by allowing name calling and abuse, sniping, ridiculing of blog posters. Some may find this entertaining. But I would prefer a small blog where commenters or readers can come in and have respectful interactions here.

There are some basic rules to be followed. Other than that you can post anything. There is no censorship.

If someone has an opinion that the earth is flat, they can post it. Others can disagree. Write a comment and put forward your reasons for why you do not agree with what someone posted. You can even email me an article for a blog post.

You are allowed to post different points of view. Just do it with respect. To say that we don’t have free speech is not correct.

Unless you think that free speech means you can be rude and insult, vilify or denigrate anyone connected to this blog just because you do not like or agree with what they post.

Our important rule is to respect the blog and no personal attacks or abuse toward ANY Cats. This includes Cats who are now with this blog or even the ones who posted on this blog in the past but no longer post here.

On one hand, we have the Open Borders/Immigration policies that have allowed a race of people who are incompatible with western civilization to to come in and try to destroy our values and way of life.

On the other hand, one country in the Middle East is carrying out a process of ethnic cleansing which is going to drive more of these people out of their lands and culture into western societies that they resent and hate. This is only going to worsen the situation.

We are in a messed up world. There are solutions but they require real leaders to implement them.

A lot of the ‘interview’ is Putin giving his version of

Putin thinks of Tucker as a lightweight, and puts him in his place a few times. I’m thinking Tucker thought he could get an interview similar to the Viktor Orban one. That’s not Putin’s style.

There was so much of hype about this interview, set off, no doubt, by Tucker’s marketing team, with promos and previews. The right-wingers have been in a buzz while the left were fuming. Once the interview was dropped, it was re-posted and talked about.

I only watched a few initial minutes and some short clips on some twitter posts. I was amused by the way Putin subtly let Tucker know who was really directing the interview.

Are we having a talk show or a serious conversation?
….. your basic education is in history, as far as I understand.

That was the perfect segue for Putin to take off onto his history lesson. He got what he wanted from the interview – direct access to a western audience.

Enough is enough—it’s time to set Julian Assange free

So should Assange, an Australian citizen, be extradited?

Imagine another scenario. An American journalist, based in London, starts digging into, say, the Indian nuclear weapons programme. Her reports clearly breach that country’s 1923 Official Secrets Act. India wants to prosecute her and, hopefully, jail her for a long time—pour décourager les autres.

Can you imagine any circumstances in which that American journalist would be bundled on an Air India flight to Delhi? Of course not: no American government would countenance it. So why—when even the Australian prime minister, Anthony Albanese, has made it plain he thinks it is time to set him free—are we still using up precious court and jail resources to argue over how much more punishment can be inflicted on Assange?

What can we, the plebs, do if we want a change?

    Just came across this.
In the UK, if a petition has more than 100,000 signatures, Parliament has to consider the petition for a debate.

    Someone launched this petition:
End the UK’s membership of the World Health Organisation

They have crossed the number so it should be debated in Parliament. Will anything happen?

I think if enough people wake up and contact their MPs and reps in both houses and keep pushing and putting on the pressure, it is possible for change to take place. After all, the pollies will be out of their jobs if they don’t get re-elected.

They need to keep getting more signatures – it has crossed 100,300 but millions would be good. So many are still asleep.

Been coming across so many gruesome images and videos. I keep telling myself they must be photo-shopped pics and Pallywood videos. They can’t be true. But when they get picked up by media commentators (like Galloway and others who have research teams), it is hard to dismiss.

Most times when I am here on the blog I am multi-tasking – reading/watching something on the internet. If I come across something that may be of interest to the blog, I stop, copy-paste and post it here.

Last month, we had an ‘incident’ on this blog. My comments appeared to aggravate one other commenter. Reflecting on it, I decided to take a break away from the Catallaxy site and let others have the floor to post whatever they wanted to.

As it is, I have limited free time. I carried on with my reading of other internet sites and learning new info without the interruption of moving back and forth to the blog to post comments.

When I checked the blog 3 days later, I found the grand total of 6 comments during my break away.
    John Smith: 1
    mh: 5.

My guess is John Smith tried to keep the posting going and mh tried to continue, then gave up. It can be hard to be the lone poster on a blog. (I know as I face that regularly, but I just post what I come across and leave it for those who want to read.)

Rather than let the blog fall apart, I got back in and restarted my posting.

A blog should not depend on a few posters to keep it going. It needs a variety of voices and opinions. I know there are some who have said that they would like to take part in the blog but don’t know what to post.

Years ago, on Sinc’s blog, I was in a similar situation. I wanted to take part but was wary about getting in and unsure if I would be able to participate. Anyway, one day, I dipped my toe in. Then, slowly, I continued with more toes until I was both feet in and posting comments off and on.

Fast forward to today. I have posted thousands of comments that it is now so easy to do. I have so much to post but not enough time. I like to keep learning, so my method while on the blog has been this:
If there’s any kind of feedback posted by someone that I could learn from, I take it up gladly. If I’ve posted something that has errors, I am pleased if someone can update it with the correct info. I am happy to discuss, debate or answer genuine questions.
When it comes to the d..kheads, I just ignore and scroll past.
    It works very well.

I believe that there are many intelligent readers and they can read comments and make up their minds.

In the past, I wanted to take part in the blog because I thought there were some issues to talk about.

Now, in the year 2024, there is so much happening at every level: politics, non-politics, – local, state, national, world. I realise that I need to speak up even if it is just as a normie on a small blog. If just one other person learns from what I share, it means I have done a small bit to make a difference.

Ros Nealon-Cook lost her job during Covid. She says:
I spoke out because remaining silent was no longer an option.

I feel the same way. Remaining silent is no longer an option.
I posted the other day about this petition launched in the UK: End the UK’s membership of the World Health Organisation

I was reading comments in that twitter post from naysayers who jumped in to say that it would be useless and nothing would happen. So people just ignore any efforts being made to bring about change – signing petitions, contacting our MPs, uniting to make our protest heard …..They start from a point of negativity that doing something is a waste of time.

If we do nothing, then 100% nothing will happen.
If we do something, it is possible – whether 10% or 20% or more that something may happen.

Imagine if millions of UK citizens had added their signatures to that petition.
Will pollies be able to dismiss that?

If the citizens of UK manage to get their country out of the WHO, it would be a green light for other countries to do the same and get out as well.

Egypt won’t do anything, they are dependent on US dollars. Jordan won’t do anything for the same reason. Even Hezbollah won’t do anything as a retaliatory air bombing campaign on Beirut would harm their electoral prospects.

President Zelensky of Ukraine has a brother living in Russia who supports Russia’s move to liberate the Donbas. Similarly, General Syrskyi, the Commander in Chief of the Ukraine Armed Forces was born in Russia where his family consider him to be a traitor to Russia.

These family entanglements are reminiscent of the American Civil War when members of the same family were on opposing sides in that dreadful conflict.

The same situation is developing in China where the US is trying to create a divide between the Chinese living on the mainland from the Chinese living on the territories controlled by Taiwan. The Chinese on the mainland and on Taiwan travel freely between each other’s territories for family meetings and business purposes, mainland China is Taiwan’s major trading partner for both imports and exports, yet the US is attempting to turn Taiwan into the next Ukraine.

The US now has stationed some of its special forces on a Taiwan controlled island which is just six kilometres off the coast of mainland China, no doubt they will be used as bait to draw a military response from China which will be used as an excuse to start the US / China war.

    This will not end well.

Comments from twitter re the death of Alexei Navalny

    1/
Today is another one of those really simple days.

All Western politicians complicit in the imprisonment and mental torture of Julian Assange don’t get to speak about Navalny.

    2/
An American citizen was tortured and killed in a dungeon of Zelensky.

Again if you didn’t express your anger over what happened to Gonzalo Lira you have ZERO RIGHT to virtue signal about Navalny.

    3/
If Alexei Navalny was in the UK or USA he would have been called a ‘far-right’ extremist and ‘domestic terrorist’.

Yet once again the rulers of the West are prepared to actively support those that here they deem to be extremists.

    Just like Azov in Ukraine.

    4/
If your death was being eulogised by the likes of Ursula Von Der Leyen, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, Zelensky etc does that mean you were a good person or a bad person in life?

    5/
“I don’t really know much about Alexei Navalny so just like most Russians then where he was an obscure figure.

An entire creation of the West and they will use this to try and bring down Putin as the war is lost in Ukraine.”

    6/
Strange that the entire 🇬🇧 Establish is happy to drop everything and frantically tweet about death of 1 🇷🇺 convict, but shows zero interest in tens of thousands of excess 🇬🇧 deaths over the past two and a half years

    7/
Western media are now mourning the death of Alexei Navalny, a US asset and leader of Nazi groups that are now banned in Russia.

Does anyone remember any media outlet reporting on the death of US citizen Gonzalo Lira, who died in a Ukrainian prison after being tortured and denied medical treatment?

Alex Christoforou had a few words to say about him also this morning. He was after around $25 Million US dollars to stage a colour revolution to depose Putin. Most Russians didn’t know about Navalny, electorally he peaked at 2 to 3 percent of the vote in Moscow where he was king of the skinheads.

Low public support for a chosen candidate doesn’t matter for the permanent government in Washington, they installed the ultra nationalist Banderites in Kiev even though they also never polled above 2% of the popular vote.
