Potentially The New Cat – First Open Thread 31 July 2021

Hi Cats,

As you can see I have created a copy of the Cat for you to continue to bicker, argue and occasionally make a reasonable point.

I do hope a solution is found with the original Cat but just in case Sinc doesn’t want to transfer the site to a new generation I have built a replica before the closure so we can migrate as many of the community across as possible.

Programming Note: I rushed out the site so there will be bugs. I can get them fixed but did not want perfection to get in the way for progress.

Community Note: Please let as many cats know of the new blog as soon as possible so we can capture the magic of the original. In particular would love for the original posters to continue their great work here.

Ideological Note: I am an infrequent poster but long time reader of the Cat. The discussions there have been a huge part of my own ideological growth on many issues. In particular free speech is key for me so will have a very similar light touch to the original Cat, potentially adopting my one policy on an earlier forum I built: “No D***heads” which is subjective but surprisingly easy to implement.

Website Note: I will run the Cat as close to possible as the original because I don’t believe in re-inventing the wheel. However if the community so wants I am happy to make changes to improve the experience so if you have any ideas let me know. For anything specific hit me up at the contact form, else go nuts in the comments.

Allan Ballard, a friend of a friend, has started a petition to the Queensland Government on the subject of the PCR test.

    https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/work-of-assembly/petitions/petition-details?id=3589

Evidence required by the people of Queensland from the Queensland Government about the efficacy of PCR tests
    Eligibility – Queensland residents

TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that there is overwhelming evidence that the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test (PCR test) to detect SARS-CoV-2 is seriously flawed and not fit for purpose.

    1. On 21 July 2021, the U.S. CDC announced that after 31 December 2021, it will withdraw the PCR test to diagnose SARS-CoV-2.

    2. The Corman-Drosten Review Report shows that beyond a cycle threshold of 35, the PCR test becomes useless as it detects past, latent viruses which no longer pose a threat. Further, the probability of a false positive result is 97% at 35 cycles or higher.

    3. World experts are calling for an end to PCR testing which produces high false positives, resulting in flawed “case” numbers being used to justify the violation of human rights and the destruction of economies.

    4. Kary Mullis inventor of the PCR test stated it is “incapable of diagnosing disease” as it cannot distinguish between inactive and reproductive viruses.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call upon the Chief Health Officer (CHO), to provide the people of Queensland within 30 days of the presentation of this petition:

    1) the cycle threshold of the PCR test in Queensland

    2) the irrefutable evidence used to justify the use of PCR test and its threshold

    3) the future of the PCR test in Queensland, given the CDC announcement.

I find it extremely telling how comfortable every states ‘Ooman rites” mob has been over the last year and a half with the suspension of civil liberties.
There have been token whines if a person of dusky extraction appears inconvenienced but otherwise they see no problems with blanket restrictions on people hundreds of km from “ hotspots” based on nothing more than they live in the same state.

They have made the case for their destruction and their replacing with institutions fit for purpose.

If there was ever a reckoning for the idiocy of the last year we would have to ban anybody who has attended a university from the public service, outside a few specialist areas the jobs should be done by dull plodders, not our “ best and brightest”.

Imagine the boost to the economy if we unleashed all that pent up pubic serpent talent upon an unsuspecting jobs market.

Dunno Makka, let me ask him.

JC says that the vax was brought out because ( at the time) the characteristics of the Chinese lab virus necessitated an urgent fix and even now the trade-off shows it was good risk/reward. He says it was excellent risk management.

Makka, for some reason, JC also told me to tell you that you’re a hammerhead…. Whatever that means. You have to take that up with him.

He also says that you need to get over your mental bias against large corporations because it causes you to delve into conspiracy bullshit. He reckons you’re better than that and he’s at a loss to understand why you’re such an idiot about this.

lol, “I don’t care if the product I had injected works as advertised, it’s a good one and I’ll be looking forward to getting it every year for the rest of my life too!”.

Back in reality, after pretending these vaccines are magical one off things, Chant bravely goes where no other ‘health’ official dared to go in Australia yet and announced ‘booster’ shots will be required for years. Meaning that any vaccine passport system they implement will tell you to get vaccinated on command in order to stay ‘compliant’, and if you don’t, you will get the big red cross and will be treated like one of those un-vaccinated peasants until you do.

    Life as a junky.

    1) – Full implementation of a totalitarian Fascist state (planned)

One of the joys of parenting is teaching your children to be skeptical.
One of the most enduring memories I have is when at the ages of 8 and 7, we were shopping in Colesworths and going past the freezer section. I called the girls over and said – “Remember when I said I’d get you a bunny each?”
“Yes dad.” The eldest looked a bit skeptical.
“Well here you go!” and I plucked a couple of frozen rabbits from the freezer.
They both looked at me, looked at the frozen rabbits, then looked at each other.
“Now you’ll have to keep their fur nice and brushed for them.”
Eldest – had been a wake up to me for some time now, replied “They’ve got no fur.”
Youngest adds “Got no guts either.”
    “Mum! Dads being mean again!”
    Then they both thumped me.
    Priceless memories.

Similarly, Sinkers could now say that Kim il Morrison could “potentially” become Australia’s greatest PM, though the likelihood of this eventuating is highly unlikely. Still, while he is PM, the “potential” still exists.

“Potential” relates to a future state regardless of how likely or unlikely that state may be achieved when viewed from the present.

JC, I’m willing to cut the world governments some slack in approving the emergency vaccines in the context of a frankly ugly virus emanating from (the lab of) the West’s biggest enemy.

BUT, their determination to bag every repurposed drug therapy suggested and researched looks to me like they chose willingly to cut deals with the big pharmaceutical companies and even with whoever funded the research for AZ at Oxford.

We know that contracts were signed that preempted available drugs being promoted. That is just panicky weakness and short-sightedness from people who have an enormous responsibility to millions of people.

Until it’s fully understood what all the risks are, it’s impossible to compute any kind of reward.

JC says that’s a motherhood statement and not fit for a person purporting to posses a high IQ. JC says, we can never know what all the risks and it is possible to “impute” risk reward with current (always limited) information. If that information changes, JC says, we may need to recompute risk/reward again. JC says, no biggie.

Risks will not be known for years yet..

JC says that’s crap Makka, and if we followed that advice we wouldn’t have gotten out of the caves. We have a decent idea of the long term risks, because we’re able to estimate risk with vaccines to some reasonable degree in the past.

So on this you are clueless. Any analysis now is really a roll of the dice. Which is fine but dressing the gamble up as some kind of statistical analysis is being deceitful..

I was stopped by police and asked what I was doing. I said I was exercising within 10km of my home. They told me I was not allowed to wear a sign while exercising. Both they and I were very respectful but I was arrested on the grounds that, as I did not normally exercise in the CBD, and was wearing a sign, I was protesting and not exercising.
This is not the country that I grew up in. And the really sad thing is that there will be so many who have been intimidated into cringing cowardice and who will just say of me, “Stupid old biddy, serves her right for not just being obedient.”

Five hours ago Mark Latham made this announcement on Facebook .

    “NSW GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES VACCINE PASSPORTS

With no public consultation, the NSW minister for digital information, Victor Dominello has announced his plan for the introduction of Vaccine Passports.
For the first time ever, adults will have to reveal their private health information to strangers just to go shopping for food and live a normal life (cafes, restaurants, cinema, sporting events, travelling around, children going to school). People without a Vaccine Passport will also lose their jobs in many workplaces.
The privacy and freedom implications of this are huge.
There are constantly privacy breaches in the data base Minister Dominello runs at Service NSW. Now he wants to police society’s movements and access to basic services and employment through the Service NSW App.
This goes well beyond QR codes, right to your private health information.
This is to force everyone to be Covid vaccinated, even though many people:
    * are waiting for clearer evidence about the safety of these vaccines, especially given that AstraZeneca has led to 6 Australians dying, with a further 90 blood clot episodes and over 28,000 reports of adverse reactions (official Commonwealth TGA data);
    * do not want the vaccines pushed upon their children;
    * have conscientious objections to vaccines on religious and other grounds; and
    * do not support the government holding and controlling so much private information about our lives.
The NSW Government plan is something you would expect in China or North Korea, not Australia. Just yesterday Premier Berejiklian said the Vaccine Passport was not on their agenda at the moment. The Government cannot even be honest about its intentions.
It has not even consulted its own MPs about this dictatorial announcement.
NSW One Nation is opposed to Vaccine Passports. We believe the best approach is to offer the elderly and vulnerable the vaccines they want and allow anyone not wanting vaccines to deal with that risk as responsible adults.
No one should be punished for their vaccine choices. The vaccine choices of all Australians – whether for or against – should be respected. We must run our own lives rather than being under the control of Big Brother Government.
In Europe there are massive public protests and riots against Vaccine Passports, especially in France. They are very divisive. Whereas Sweden (which had no lockdowns) will have no Vaccine Passports, living freely. As Australia should.
Scott Morrison has said that Australia is aiming at 70-80% vaccination to achieve herd immunity so that COVID no longer circulates in the community. Why then are controlling Vaccine Passports needed?
Why has NSW announced them so early? This is just another government grab for power and control over our lives.
It’s wrong and unnecessary. One Nation will fight it all the way.

Now, I can’t find any evidence for this in the news media. Is Mark playing politics, or is he privy to some inside information that not even the media has sniffed out. If it turns out to be true, then I suggest that it’s high time to start writing angry letters and emails to your local NSW State reps.

Time to re-read “Wasp” by Eric Frank Russell. Official story is he spent WW2 in an RAF communications unit in Europe theatre. However one version is that he spent the war in a special unit that dreamed up dirty tricks to play on the Germans and Japs.
Read the novel and see what you think. It is quite short and available for free as a pdf.

Can someone with a sound knowledge of this subject please write a brief post for publication on the Soviet Gulag?

Yes, we can all read Wikipedia, but there must be someone here who can present a similar, concise introduction?

It needn’t be lengthy, and certainly not a history of the whole system.

Was there a similar system in Imperial Russia prior to the Revolution, and the rouge virus simply expanded it?

Please email it to Adam via ‘Contact the Cat.’ You may need to insert it all into the text box for the time being.

    This is a topical issue.

(How envious the early apparatus would be if they knew the logistics were now so much easier: There is no need to transport the population. Simply superimpose the Gulag on everyday life, and the prisoners will not only incarcerate themselves, but applaud your foresight).

This was always the plan right from the very beginning, Lurker. Starting with the WEF organised, Gates sponsored “Event 201 held in October, 2019. The vaccine itself is irrelevant and may as well be saline solution. An all encompassing digital ID, identification, tracking, compliance and control system was always the intent.

And NSW is merely jumping the gun to steal a bit of the limelight. The Federal government will be announcing it nationally in six to eight weeks. Or at least that’s the plan.

NSW Police Minister David Elliott revealed supermarkets have been told by police to employ security guards to enforce the mandatory QR check-in system as he says the stores have an ‘obligation’ to protect their customers.
