    ‘The first death of a patient who had been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and did not have an underlying disease was reported in Greece on Sunday.

    The death was reported during a television interview on Sunday by the assistant director of the Intensive Care Unit at Papanikolaou Hospital, Dr. Nikos Kapravelos.

    According to Dr. Kapravelos, the man, who was 70 years old and had received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine, as had his family, before he became infected. He had been hospitalized after suffering from severe pneumonia.’

    At the same time, the proportion of voters who felt Australia was handling the pandemic better than the rest of the world – a frequent boast during the first year of the pandemic – plunged from 79 per cent in February to 57 per cent in July…

    Because the poor, deluded, ignorant fools believed every bit of bullshit they were served up. They actually believed that lockdowns were a means by which to defeat Covid, rather than a transparent method of kicking the can down the road in anticipation of a never before achieved vaccine.

    To rub salt into the wound, the deluded fools (quite reasonably) expected any vaccine to stop people getting it, and spreading it.

    Catching up with the can is always an unpleasant experience.

    Imagine that.

    Escape middle ages religious intolerance and end up in NSW which is rather quickly turning into the communist East Germany (GDR) [where we already shoot brown people for stealing packets of biscuits, and fine people for laying flowers in cemeteries].

    Their best bet is going somewhere which is legally corrupt but personal responsibility is treasured within their cultural sphere.

    Like myself, but for other reasons, Morocco might be the best option.

    It’s illegal but they’re not fanatical about it.

    You can be gay here. But it is currently illegal to walk in a group of three around a residential walking track, go outside not carrying a mask or to visit your parents if you are not their carer.

    What a country!

    And by the way, when the international borders open and we are allowed to travel, it will only be to specific bubble countries. If you take the opportunity to go ‘off reservation’ and book a second flight to your real destination, upon return you will be asked “did you spend all your time in X country?’.

    If you admit to going elsewhere, into mandatory quarantine you go. If you lie and they find out, they will come to your door, fine you (say, $10,000) and then take you and anybody else in the house to quarantine.

    Why do you think they are building those camps? They are building them for those who travel to/arrive from unauthorised locations.

    A piece of pure conjecture on my part is that Scomo’s recent fall out with Gladys is more to frustration at the polls with a razor thin margin. Being down to nearly 1 year before the election has to be held

    RD, Morrison is in a bind of his own making – getting in bed with the Premiers because he’d got singed from the 2020 bush fires was the start. Then, all his eggs in one AZ basket, which led to the delays in the rollout because people don’t want it. And followed by the attempted forcing of the public to take anything they can get because of Delta, which coincided with General Frewin taking over and what I think was his bullying of Gladys to lockdown thereby forcing the public’s hand on getting jabbed. Too many people across the nation, but especially in western Sydney and in Melbourne, are losing everything, and that’s not something you’d forget in a hurry. Instead, the memory of what they’ve been through when the election comes around will still be fresh.

    I’m expecting that 2022 won’t be much good for travel still though.
    Might finally get that week already booked in the Cook Islands.
    Maybe get to a resort in the Whitsundays. Not ‘zactly bucket list stuff.
    Where’s my Amazon? And Iguazu Falls? And return to old haunts in Sri Lanka?

    Maybe we will relocate to Britain. The Western Isles are nice, in summer.
    Cornwall might do for winter. Hairy can see his rellies too in London, a bonus.
    But not banking on any normal flights to UK till at least September 2022.

    Bah! My time is slipping away too fast. But at least the garden here compensates.

    While I understand the sentiment, at the moment I feel I never want to vote for a Liberal again, I think you should always support the worthwhile individual. There aren’t many of them.

    However, this is not a dilemma I face, living in Eastern Suburbs Sydney. I’ll happily put all the Liberals here dead last with a flourish.

    1. Because not even the Taliban thought it would be so easy to reclaim an entire country, it takes them a year or so to plan and carry out another full-blown terrorist attack on Western soil. Or sponsor someone to do it, and harbour them before, during and after.

    2. Re-invading is not an option, because conquering in this day is considered a bit low-brow. ‘Surgical strikes’ become the go.

    3. After each such strike, the Talis will wheel out a few truckloads of pre-executed women and children, tastefully arrange them for the cameras and claim atrocities by the infidel.

    4. And around and around it will go, because nobody has the election cycle courage to take out an entire city. Or province. Gaza, writ large.

    It doesn’t seem to occur to many people that the taliban are well supported by afghanis – the taliban is afghanistan. An expression of that people that could only be briefly suppressed by a trillion dollar military effort.

    KD – they certainly seem to have pushed against an open door.

    Getting out is absolutely the right thing to do, but the humiliating incompetence of the US exit will be remembered like the fall of Saigon. And Joe Biden’s administration is 100% responsible.

    Attempts to pin this fustercluck on Trump are so lame that even the US MSM are not buying it.

    What is scary is that managing the exit properly was hardly rocket surgery. A competent large scale events manager could have done it in his or her sleep. But somehow, the combined brainpower of the US military couldn’t deliver.

    That we rely on these fuckwits for our own defence is very worrying indeed.

    I am not qualified myself on the subject, but I know quite a few people who’ve served with various outfits over there.

    NOT ONE has said anything along the lines of ‘Geez, they’re good blokes, top notch, unjustly suffering because of these pricks.’ Rather, they’ve indicated that they are shiftless chancers motivated by centuries-old tribal differences, and that they will take any advantage offered by anyone to get a single step ahead.

    Also, they express wonderment as to why we spent all that time apparently fighting for these people’s freedom when they not only threw it in the bin while they were there, but set it on fire as soon as they left.

    That, and the rampant boy-sodomy.

    Hawaii whistleblower: ‘More patients dying from vaccine than Covid’

    “I’ve seen more patients die from the vaccine than from Covid,” said a board certified occupational therapist who worked in three Covid units in Hawaii.

    “I’ve seen 32 elderly people pass away immediately after taking the Moderna vaccine,” Abrien Aguirre told Hawaii Free Speech News. “None of that is being talked about on the news. It doesn’t fit their narrative.”

    Aguirre, who said that he works with the geriatric population in the largest skilled nursing facility in Oahu, said the major media is misrepresenting what is happening with hospitalized Covid patients.

    “The people moved to the Covid unit, didn’t have Covid. They tested positive with the PCR test, but most of them were asymptomatic and only suffering from their pre-existing conditions,” Aguirre said, adding that people with terminal illnesses were put on the Covid death lists, which he says is “complete fraud.”

    Aguirre said that he worked as a “Director of Rehab” in one skilled nursing facility for 5 months, and he saw where the billing department would have his therapist change medical diagnosis codes from things like pulmonary disorder to Covid because of higher reimbursements. He said this even happened with cases that were not only asymptomatic, but sometimes they did not even have a positive PCR test result for Covid.

    “It’s just fraud on every level,” he said.

    Aguirre said he has reached out to politicians, including the governor, in Hawaii to expose the fraud, but none have responded.

    His last advice in the interview:

    “My advice to people: if your elderly are sick, your grandmother, your great grandmother, your mom, don’t send them to a skilled nursing facility. They’re not going to receive adequate care. Treatment is going to be withheld from them. They’re going to be forced to wear a mask all day, and social distance. They’re going to become depressed and want to commit suicide. Because that is what I am seeing in our facilities.”

    Wondering why the testing lines are do long? Another example of testing-to-work.

    Mr Mahon said test delays were causing significant disruptions for freight and logistics operators trying to cross the border.

    “I’ve talked to plenty of drivers just in the last few days — they’ve had 10 tests or more in the last three weeks,” he said.

    Mark A, upthread, though I don’t always acknowledge your great contribution to the Cat, partly because I usually get to them a bit late in that day and, by then, everyone’s moved on, that of course has been my mistake to not give you a regular thumbs up.

    You’re right that the place has a changed a bit, but I’m putting that down to a few teething problems.

    On the right, we believe in individual freedom and the pursuit of one’s own goals in life. In the real world of human endeavour that is the only way to succeed.

    The Cat has fractured. I suppose it had to happen once the Doomlord retired and the Rings of Power were scattered.

    Arky thinks having lots of little kitties is a good thing to ensure that the Cat’s ethos, of argument, examination, humour, discussion and chain rattling survives.

    But the other day, I.R., made the point that the right seems always to fracture whereas the left never does, at least not until it decides that it’s time to shed (shred?) one of its own. Consequently, it stays strong, metastasises and gains more power.

    I have no wish for any of the litter to expire. But, and I know it’s still early days, the fracturing I think is making us weaker, not stronger. Though, I said yesterday that, like water, we’d find our level. But will it be in one big ocean or a few small ponds?

    I’m staying here because I think Adam’s done a great job and hopefully has found a way to overcome the bird strikes.

    Whatever you decide, you and your lame pics will be remembered with great fondness. And, besides, you can always return 😁. That’s the great thing about Cats, we know our own.

    Well done, you! Growing orchids from seed is something worth bragging about. Growing orchids from seed that actually flower – high five. 🙂

    I am reading Dover’s, but it doesn’t feel right to me. Like a Thai soup with no chili, or something.

    I got criticised over there for remarking (here) that everybody agreeing with everyone else is a bit TheirABC-ish for my taste. Also, people proclaiming that they ‘feel safe’ is for toddlers, not adults.

    Still, let’s see how things pan out.
