Stocks and the Aussie.. What else?

Here’s where I’m heading. Currently the US market is muted because of Dementia’s fuck-up in Afghanistan. The market certainly hasn’t collapsed but there’s been an re-appraisal that Uncle Sam is in a spot of bother.

Hear me out, because I actually perceive this to be a positive for stocks – at least short term. If Dementia’s poll numbers are collapsing, there’s a reduced chance the moron will be able to get his economically destructive policies through the Congress and made into law.

In other words,  for a large part, it remains the Orange Oaf’s economy. Yea, yea, I know Dementia can do damage through executive orders, but he’s done as much as he can on that score. By and large, it remains Trump’s economy and we’re now heading to the midterms. Good luck Dems….at least that’s how things will be perceived by the market. Generally, the market thinks thinks that midterms will go the GOP’s way, which means Dementia is locked up in the White House basement until 2024 if he hasn’t died before hand, in which case a despised VP will take over.

Meanwhile, the Fed will remain accommodating far longer than in the past. Now read this:

    It comes from here:

    https://cspicenter.org/blog/waronscience/why-covid-19-is-here-to-stay-and-why-you-shouldnt-worry-about-it/

    “Conclusion

The pandemic is on its way out, but SARS-CoV-2 is here to stay. Fortunately, as everyone develops immunity to it (whether through vaccination or natural infection), it will soon no longer be a major problem anymore. The virus will continue to circulate, but much less than during the pandemic and, even when people are infected, the infection will typically be mild. In the future, almost everyone will get infected for the first time during their childhood, which is harmless and will protect them against severe illness when they are reinfected.15 The virus will continue to mutate and some of those mutations will favor immune evasion, but while this will allow it to infect people who have already been infected or vaccinated more easily, immunity should continue to protect against severe forms of the disease, thanks in particular to the role played by T-cells. This is likely what happened with other human coronaviruses, which are already endemic and typically cause a cold in the people they infect. To the extent that immune evasion occurs, it will be very gradual and the fact that most people will be infected every few years will update their immunity, ensuring that subsequent reinfections will also be mild. The most vulnerable people, whose immune system doesn’t work very well and could use some help to be ready in case of infection, can get a vaccine booster from time to time. The virus will still kill people, as the flu does, but it will never cause the same amount of disruption again. The hardest part of what lays ahead may be to convince people who have been traumatized by the pandemic that it’s over and that restrictions are no longer necessary.”

If I’m right and this dude is proven right, the market is going to have a massive spike going into Xmas. That fixer-upper you always wanted on the Amalfi Coast or the South of France overlooking to the Med could be yours.

Frustrated and at a loss to understand why a considerable and growing body of evidence in favour of the cheap, off-patent medication is being not merely ignored but actively rejected, Dr Phillip M. Google ‘founder’ admits he created revenge site against estranged wife

<<Scott Hassan, 51, who wrote much of the original code that powers the search giant, is embroiled in a nasty divorce battle that has raged for seven years and involves millions of dollars, claims of treating his children unfairly — and even a shocking online revenge campaign.

His ex wife, Allison Huynh, a senior research fellow at Stanford University’s Robotics Laboratory, claims Hassan is withholding a fortune that her attorney claims she is legally entitled to.

“In 2018, the [couple’s] estate was valued at $1.8 billion and [Hassan] wanted to give her a minuscule fraction,” Huynh’s attorney Pierce O’Donnell claimed in a statement to The Post. “His court position is that she gets nothing: Zero, zip, nada. Every settlement conference, he’s reduced his offer. I haven’t seen that in my 45-year-long career. He’s trying to pull off the ultimate dirty trick on his wife and three teenage children.”

But as divorce settlement proceedings are scheduled to start Monday in San Jose, Calif., Hassan is embroiled in a much less prestigious online endeavor.

After being accused by his ex, he has admitted to launching the site earlier this year, seeding it with links to positive articles written about his ex — but also links to court documents from three embarrassing lawsuits that involve her.>>

I’m sacred stiff now. Every time the peripheral dirtball posts something stupidly offensive or egotistical, he’ll call me out as a stalker. Frightening stuff, which of course will stop me commenting about his.

Oh hang on, no it won’t!!

You twerp, JHM, you ridiculous fucking clown. As if.

Now, if someone could only get this through to the people in charge at Chemist Warehouse because they are by far the worst at heavy handed policing of customers.  They don’t even accept mask exemptions and it’s obvious top down because it’s the same at every branch.

The communication in the Gab post took place in June. I would like a clearer statement from the supermarkets and the Privacy Act rather than rely on screen captures.

    From this article:

<<“(QR codes are) an example of (something that is) required or authorised by law, and therefore it falls within the exception from the federal Privacy Act,” he said.

Prof Leonard said businesses which fall under the Public Health Directives requiring them to record contact information using QR codes are legally entitled to deny entry to patrons who refuse, provided the venues aren’t breaching other discrimination laws.

A spokesman for Service NSW, the authority which oversees the QR code check-in function, told AAP FactCheck the state’s “COVID Safe check-in” is mandated by public health orders.

“Customers that choose not to provide details will be refused entry,” he said in an email.>>

Funnily enough, I have never had a problem at Woolworths or Coles.  Some stores do have someone standing at the entrance and I generally walk right by them.

Did you notice the other document in that link –

That looks pretty official.  Maybe no ones made a real issue of it and they’re just bluffing.  Wouldn’t put it past them.  It’s a massive invasion of privacy.

The deservedly respected Matriarch and I are becoming quite Jesse James about being prevented from visiting our Pommie daughter by people of such low meritocracy that we would never have considered employing in our successful small business.

The ‘two Porsche’ neighbours recommended an outfit down the coast whose bizjet business was now sustained only by state bureaucrat aresholes (payment terms 120 days) and the occasional lazy pollie looking for a cheap ride to its electorate.

We spoke to them, and they were tempting.  Of course they could fly us into Indonesia with no moronic Border Force knowledge.  The cost was not much more than a business class fare.  Such is the ongoing contempt of GA for the ex-RAAF arseholes in Civil Aviation.

The beloved daughter pulled the pin.  They just want to FO from Johnson/Carrie Britain and come to Oz and don’t want crazy parents destroying their chances.  Hurting!  They refuse to believe that it is worse here.

In Primary, Sister Ursula didn’t tell me that I would have to confront much worse shit than not keeping my back straight in a scrum against the ST Peter’s proddies.

Subliminaly the old Irish fruitcake was very accurately predicting the end of civilisation.

Were the dear Sister still alive she would be in jail for rightfully applying the 24 inch ruler to every judge, plod, health bureaucrat, journo arsehole, the woman down the street, Counsel CEO, and the postie prick who rides his moped over my garden.

I’ve, for years, shopped at 7 in the morning when the local Woolies opens and have never used the QR code .. always just walk in but did notice last week, on the way out, that they were setting up a table with a staff member at the entrance but not before they get it organized so well after 7 .. closer to 7.30

Have you walked past a store employee at Coles or Woolies?  Have they stopped you or asked questions?

I checked out the other document, too.

    From the Service NSW website:

《 Some businesses are required to record customers’ contact details under the Public Health Order, to assist with any contact tracing that may be necessary. Under the Order, you’re required to provide your details upon entry to these businesses. If you choose not to provide your details, you’ll be refused entry.》
