The funniest part of the #SuperSpreaderDan video is that it was FILMED by mainstream media at a press conference with the premier. NONE of them asked him about it. It took @therealrukshan and I, the two independent journalists they love to mock, to hold the premier accountable.

Sliced bread is the standard for greatness. No one seems to ask what was the greatest thing before sliced bread, and many compete over what is the greatest thing since. But, in 1943, sliced bread was about to encounter the largest war in human history, leading many to argue that the worst thing since sliced bread was the time the government banned sliced bread. The US government ban on sliced bread in January 1943 is history that deserves to be remembered.

Singapore’s immunity trap a lesson for Australia

In the last few weeks, tents and other temporary structures have appeared at hospitals in Singapore as it grapples with a per-capita load of daily infections that is suddenly the highest in Asia.

But unlike in India or Indonesia earlier in the year, these spillover areas are not filled with desperately ill people. Rather, they are triage stations, sorting COVID-19 cases into those who can go home, those who need to be admitted, and those who need to be otherwise isolated.

The difference is vaccination. When the delta variant ripped through New Delhi and Jakarta, vaccination rates were negligible. In contrast, about eight in 10 of Singapore’s entire population are double-jabbed. That’s one of the highest rates in the world and has kept serious illness to low numbers.

But vaccinations reduce, rather than stop, infections and Singapore’s Finance Minister, Lawrence Wong, describes the country as “COVID-19 naive” because it recorded a relatively low number of COVID-19 infections before vaccinations became widespread.

It turns out the terrible waves of illness that swept through the United Kingdom and the United States last year did leave one positive – natural immunity. It’s valuable and the only way to get it is through people catching COVID-19.

As Wong put it, many countries “have reached a new COVID-stable situation where they are able to resume activities, and they have not seen any resurgence of cases. We are in a different position.”

The parallels to Australia and New Zealand are obvious, says professor Teo Yik Ying, dean of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore.

“Pandemics end through natural selection or adaption, which is what happens when we are repeatedly exposed to a pathogen. We get used to it being in our body and thereby reducing the harmful or long-term consequences,” professor Teo says.

“Our ministers use that phrase ‘COVID-naive’ because Singapore – very much like Australia and New Zealand – has been very successful at keeping COVID-19 out of our country, so many of our people have not been exposed to the virus.”

Caught wind tonight of a dropkick on Ch 10 suggesting all recent quakes in OZ are not related to the recent Melbourne quake.

Wanna bet? Our craton is geologically stable, yet, it moved like Dutch said it would. A low level quake hit WA a few days back. The Ayers Rock quake has yet to occur…but, we wait. Probably not going to happen though. Energy is flowing around the craton.

South OZ copped a rattle of late. Looking now at more deep quakes in the Western Pacific. This process will not end. This planet is doing what it normally does, and will continue to do so. It will never stop. Dutch has figured out its actions with a reliable sense of certainty with regards to his forecasts methods.

Geoscience OZ /USGS ( otherwise know as the .9 society.. always downgrading )…do not rely on them to warn you of a possible quakes in the future.  They are, ‘after the event’ arse wipes. Thankfully, we do not have to worry like many do, that live on or around the plate boundaries.

Do not ask for the clip from CH 10 detailing this. Look it up yourself. I refuse in principle to post it here. Natahsa, that thing from Ch 10 is as useless as this imbecile from the BBC in 2016.

“I was really hesitant about doing a video or even speaking up about this sort of thing, but I feel like it’s getting to a point now in the world where there’s a lot of segregation, a lot of harsh judgment, and its taking its toll on my mental health,” Frost told her 577,000 followers on Instagram.

“There are a lot of different reasons people aren’t getting vaccinated – and it might be because of their medical history, their concerns they might have, they might have family history, it might be religious reasons, whatever.

“I want to tell those people that feel like they’re getting separated from society – well, I’m not vaccinated, and there’s a reason why I’m not, I’ve spoken to my doctor and my psychologist about it, and I’m going to keep it private.” ’
