She insists she’s doing OK, as she is allowed to visit a “significant other” as she lives alone.

I think all the women she works with have a roster system of being “significant others” to each other. So at least she gets to talk to real people once a day.

    Thanks for asking, Calli.

Canberra Covid false positive results confirmed for 11th person

    Uh-oh.

A person who was in isolation in NSW after receiving a suspected false-positive Covid test result in the ACT has since tested negative, ACT Health says.

The individual was one of 11 people who received a false positive test on Wednesday, creating concern an outbreak had occurred in Canberra.

All 11 people have now received a negative test result, concluding that the mix-up presented no risk to the community.

So Canberra, which has no cases, is suddenly all about ‘false positives’.

Two words you’ll never, ever hear from any state “CHO”, despite PCR tests being highly susceptible to false positives in populations with low infection rates: “false positive”.

Initially comments were open, with a few “how terribly racist and hurtful it all is” type comments.

But now there are no comments. My own attempt was a “sticks and stones” quote.

All I can think is that the general readership is horribly racist and a huge disappointment to the editorial staff. Either that or there is a section of society that is terribly emotionally fragile and must be protected from all perceived criticism lest they descend into paroxysms of litigation.

The ritual humiliation of Taylor Walker, who is probably a boofhead without a racist bone in his body has finally crystallised my waning interest in AFL.

The way teams are able to circumvent the restrictions placed on the rest of us makes me angry too.

    STOP peddling FEAR !!

This really is the time the LDP rises up and goes to war.

People have been ground down by lockdowns, are squirming, and praying to their tormentors that they will one day be allowed out. They have befuddled by shouting voices from all directions and sunk into thick black darkness.

A few choice comments should be able to throw open the windows and curtains and let life-giving light and sweet invigorating air flood in, shake off the funk, and dispel the carefully woven malaise.

Tell people to think back a few years and ask if they ever thought they could be so feeble and craven. Tell them to demand their leaders explain when they can get their freedoms back. Tell them to demand that anyone who has abused their position or failed in their duty be held to account – and I don’t mean just sacked. I mean jail time so they don’t just drift into another easy gig. Tell them to demand to know how this debacle can be avoided in the future.

Strike while the iron is hot. (Well, at least press your shirt.)

France’s Catholic community has suffered its latest fatal attack after a Rwandan migrant who confessed to setting last year’s fire at Nantes Cathedral handed himself in to police admitting to killing Father Olivier Maire in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre.

Identified as Emmanuel A. in French media but named in full elsewhere as Emmanuel Abayisenga, the Rwandan had in July 2020 admitted to the arson of the Gothic cathedral. The 40-year-old migrant, who had been a volunteer at the place of worship and was in charge of locking up the building in the evening, had allegedly lit three fires on July 18th of that year, destroying stained-glass windows, a historic painting, and the grand organ, among other damage.

Released from prison under judicial control in May while still awaiting trial for the arson, Abayisenga was taken in by Father Olivier Maire and lived at the Montfortains religious community in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre, south of Nantes. The migrant reportedly handed himself in on Monday morning to police, admitting to killing the 60-year-old priest…..

There is currently no indication that Emmanuel Abayisenga had any terrorist motive, with the AFP describing him as a “devout Catholic” — although his alleged burning of a Catholic cathedral and murder of a Catholic priest would seem to be at odds with this description.

As I understand it, with superannuation, you leave it to your Legal Personal Representative, which is your executor who then ensures that it forms part of your estate through your Will. This means that the Superannuation Trustees can not ignore your direction and the beneficiaries of your Will receive the money.

Re the 6 month relationship – I’m happy to be corrected but iirc, even if you don’t live together a claim can be made by one against the other if the relationship has lasted past the 6 month mark. All it needs is for your social group to recognise that you are in a personal relationship together.

What I foresee, should really large outbreaks occur here amongst the fully vaccinated, and perhaps deaths, is the demonisation of the unvaccinated as “carriers”, even though it has been proved that the fully vaccinated are capable of carrying high viral loads.
    ———————————————-

What we must do is get it out there that the vaccination can get Covid from the vaccine itself, which would totally blunt this line of attack. I think this is well realised but, naturally, suppressed because it’s counter to the narrative.

Interesting how they could get that close and set off what could have well been more harmful devices without being intercepted.

Eight Extinction Rebellion demonstrators have been arrested after they vandalised Parliament House and The Lodge, in protest against the Morrison government’s failure to act on climate change.

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report found the globe could be just 10 years away from heating by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, the tipping point for more severe and frequent weather events.

In a dramatic call for urgent climate action, protesters used red spray paint to graffiti “Duty of Care” onto the marble pillars of Parliament House, before letting off flares and incinerating a pram by the forecourt fountain. Extinction Rebellion said the measures were symbolic of a “government that wants to cook our kids”.

’tis good to have a hero, who today had 300,000 people from the Northern Rivers out of work, not at school, locked up down and all around, anxious about paying the rent or their bookie – a hero who just does stuff because he can. Ho, ho, ho.

    Sydney Westies….

Police will allege that a ‘smiling and laughing’ 15-year-old girl was the ringleader of a teenage boy’s fatal bashing at a housing commission home in Sydney’s west.

The boy, 16, died in hospital on Saturday morning, three days after he was allegedly brutally set upon by four teenage boys and two girls, aged 13 to 19, in Doonside.

The teen pack believed the victim had ‘stolen’ AirPods last month and allegedly demanded he yell obscenities about the ‘Sydney inner west’ gang, police alleged in court documents.

In the court documents, police alleged that the girl yelled during the beating ‘stomp on his head, put him in a f***ing grave’ and ‘go finish him off, go go go’ as if cheering her friends on.

Re the 6 month relationship – I’m happy to be corrected but iirc, even if you don’t live together a claim can be made by one against the other if the relationship has lasted past the 6 month mark. All it needs is for your social group to recognise that you are in a personal relationship together.

Like judges in court who will suddenly demand standards and decorum in their presence, and most certainly to them. Mere mortals have no claim to such deference in their interactions.

But perhaps lawmakers will reflect that the reason Extremely Repelling did this to their clubhouse was because they have been able to do it elsewhere without consequences.

Who am I kidding. Easier just to put more security staff on with taxpayers’ money than risk a bad column in Teh Gruniad, or The Spartacist, or whatever bromide smudged rag they have.

    Heres the score.

Rather than admit their error they are doubling down and hoping “safetyism” will carry them through.

Legislature Authorized Opening California’s ‘Print-Your-Own Ballot From Home’ Program to Everyone
    Gut-and-amend legislation facilitated a workaround

By Katy Grimes, August 9, 2021 4:51 pm

The Globe reported Sunday that California Secretary of State Shirley Weber may have invented a “print-your-own ballot from home” program just in time for the September 14th recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom through the Remote Accessible Vote by Mail (RAVBM) system. We asked several questions:

Was this new or has this program been around but not promoted – until now?
Can you print out more than one ballot?
How are these verified and by whom?
Why can’t these ballots be dropped off?
    Why must they be mailed?
    What could possibly go wrong?
Did California invent an audit-proof way to steal elections?

Because it was Sunday, we weren’t able to get anyone from the Secretary of State’s office on the phone to speak about this program, or any county Registrar of Elections employees either.

The Globe spoke with Constitutional and Elections Attorney Mark Meuser Monday and asked several of the questions which had come up since the article published.

We discovered that the original Remote Accessible Vote by Mail (RAVBM) system was created to assist those who are disabled and confined to home or who may have difficulties getting to a polling station, which Attorney Meuser confirmed.

However, our research on the SOS website found that the program no longer specified that the program was limited to the disabled.

Credit where credit is due, the left have this down pat and they don’t hiding it anymore; but the idiot GOP and conservatives in Australia still think there are rules and rational discourse. Fucking idiots.

Canberra was mortified when they learned that the commandos they sent to Afghanistan to kill people actually killed people. An officer who was trained to write reports and had mountains of files worth of experience was appointed to investigate. He recommended they be charged with manslaughter. A female lawyer dressed up as a Brigadier took up the issue and charged the men.
