Our geographic isolation has worked against us.
Like overseas our leaders joined the chorus “Lockdown to flatten the curve!” And in these other countries they had quite a few hospitalisations and deaths that they all watched.
Here there was a rather too conspicuous lack of people in hospital (or funeral homes) so they decided to base our risk assessments on numbers of cases and set the goal of zero transmissions – even though most cases are asymptomatic, and that is ignoring all the people who are likely covid positive but have not bothered to get tested because they feel fine.
Overseas they are genuinely relieved at dips in hospitalisations, which are something that really resonates with people. Here it is just tests which is a tick in a box, and we are being encouraged to be afraid of abstract numbers.
And this, of course, is why other countries are laughing at us.

There is no curious coincidence or sinister plot.

Sinovaxx is a traditional vaccine.
No surprise that pfizer is not as effective against delta, that just puts it in the same class as flu vaccines which have to modified for every flu season.
2017 was a stand out for poor efficacy for the flu vaxx, 30 percent for one strain and only 10 for another.
The real issue here is massive government overreach because of misuse of state of emergency powers.

The screams of two young women being assaulted in a crowded Kimberley caravan park went unanswered as they were bashed by a group of teenagers with a metal chair and had their vehicle taken.
Key points:
A group of teenagers who attacked two women in a Kimberley caravan park were later involved in a fatal accident
The women say other campers were too frightened to help them
One woman blacked out and was left bruised while the other has a scarred face and loose teeth
Left bloodied, bruised and without their car, the pair later had to vacate a hospital treatment room to make way for children critically injured when the stolen vehicle crashed.
One of them, a 12-year-old girl among them died in the accident.

mRNA poster child and perpetual loser Moderna couldn’t get a single one of its mRNA biotech experimental ‘platforms’ through clinical trials anywhere in the world for any real diseases for over a decade.
So in 2018-2019, quickly becoming a laughing stock they pivoted to pharma’s used-car equivalent gutter market: vaccines. Easy approvals, low barrier to entry, low profit and low risk…. “Hey, at least we’ll get something to market“….and still couldn’t get approval anywhere.
Until suddenly, surprise, approval for everyone!
Except they still need to run trials on babies and children. And they want to do it in Australia. But other than that little missing piece, mRNA is proven safe and effective with over zero years of success at anything.

It’s important to examine the pros and cons with the different treatments, AKA vaccines. So far, because others have done the hard yards researching, we know a great deal more than most people.
Obviously some if the claims and counterclaims are complete nonsense. Some are in the grey area of possibility, while a lot has been borne out by events. News from Israel is not good if you’re looking to a vaccine for enduring protection, even short term protection.
What I foresee, should really large outbreaks occur here amongst the fully vaccinated, and perhaps deaths, is the demonisation of the unvaccinated as “carriers”, even though it has been proved that the fully vaccinated are capable of carrying high viral loads. Thus is how hysteria has worked in the past, and I see no reason why it will be any different now.

Notafan, you’ll forgive me for not listening to someone who has been 100% wrong about everything since February 2020, about what is and isn’t a waste of time to talk about.
Especially someone who got the vaccine, months ago when they were telling you it was 98% effective, and now it’s down as low as 34% (Israel’s data). You argued that case here for months that we were wrong and “science!” and “trials” were right.
Now the reality comes in and it’s, “guys let’s just talk about something else”.
No. While only 19% of the population have been dumb enough to line up for it, let’s talk about that very important thing right now.
1. The vaccines don’t work anywhere near as promised (if at all for more than a few months).
2. The companies have lied – as always.
3. The TGA didn’t ever see the raw data – so lied when they said how ‘thorough’ they were being.
4. The government is lying right now when it says 80% take up will be the end of this. Everyone already fully well knows that Israel, Iceland and Gibraltar, the UK and US are right now grappling with “outbreaks” amongst fully “jabbed” populations. That the vaccines are Tamiflu all over again. But here the government and it’s tamed media are overtly refusing to talk third shots and fourth shots and no protection from catching and transmitting it in Australia because they know it will ‘damage the uptake’.
Get that? The government and media are willing to pursue a strategy to carry on a lie to the entire population about these vaccines – denying the population the clear view of what’s happening in the world in places that are our exact future in six months (60% uptake, etc), ‘for our own good’ – in their own minds, because the reality doesn’t match their ideology and ‘roadmap’.
That’s a pretty dark place.

Please nobody quote the Vatican.
I know.
Its statement asserts – correctly – that given the remoteness of individuals’ culpability in a foundational medical evil, the evil is diluted (but not neutralised) and therefore a great good can be done for a greater number.
That is all very well but…
The earlier 2005 statement on vaccines and fetal cell lines – promulgated on the authority of Benedict XVI (an actual intellectual giant) – also made clear that use of these tainted vaccines MUST be redeemed by three things: 1) the pharmacuetical companies must acknowledge their wrongdoing; 2) they must never use abortion-acquired tissue and cells ever again; and 3) they MUST bring to market wholly ethical alternatives.
So… when your Catholic friend tells you the vaccines are all good in the Church’s eyes, be aware that this is not true.
The usage of them has been sanctioned only according to strict and hitherto completely ignored conditions.

THE TOP FIVE POLICIES AUSTRALIA NEEDS IN 2018:
1. Reduce our immigration intake from 200,000 pa to the 20th century average of 70,000, to take the pressure off housing prices, jobs, wages and city congestion.
2. Big personal income tax cuts, reducing the top marginal rate from 49% to 35%, with other rates coming down to 25 and 15%. This would reboot the economy by giving businesses and workers extra incentive. They should work for themselves, not the taxman!
3. End Australia’s energy crisis and reduce prices by lifting all restrictions on energy production. We should be a global energy superpower, with abundant fossil, renewable and nuclear power.
4. Fight back against political correctness by abolishing Leftist sinkholes like the ABC, SBS and Human Rights Commission, and cleaning cultural Marxism out of our universities and schools.
5. Win the war on terror by introducing a Trump-style travel ban and locking up mentally-ill radicals who threaten public safety.
I’m not aware that he has changed his position as outlined above.

I shall go cunningly disguised as a pot plant.

Thanks, Milton.
What date did he tweet that?
There is so much pro Pfizer stuff on his Twitter account I wouldn’t have expected that.

Anyway, I have never claimed that Latho is perfect and ideologically pure. Neither is Trump. Everyone is silly sometimes. I don’t agree with Latham about Whitlam for example. Or Wran. Only thing I’ll say about Wran is he was better than the rubbish in MacQuarie St now.

I would find it hard to give much credence to a doctor who is so dismissive of life. Even if she didn’t believe it was human, it is still life.
I love the head tilt though.

Good point Dodgy! The problem being that someone forgot the signout-time on the database and best practice requires 14 committee meetings before changing an operational database schema.

Why are people here still promoting Mark Latham?
What is he offering?
And don’t answer with the safe schools topic.
Safe schools topic.
Plus what miltonf said.
Latham is the best pollie; it doesn’t matter if it is a low standard. Who the fuck do you want: JC; and I don’t mean head prefect.

That’ll be fine … Weinstein’s still in custody.

And now they are making vaccination mandatory for tradies in SW Sydney who wish to continue working on sites outside their areas.
It’s time this was tested in a court of law, the governments cannot restrict people’s rights to travel and work. A threat of a massive class action for loss of earnings should put the government back in its box.
