    Hi kaysee, I quit work about a year ago cos of all this bullshit. I was a frontline health worker dealing with pretty serious stuff. It all got thrown out of the window and no matter what you came into the ED with, Convid temp check and questions before anything else. Very off-putting for staff and customers alike but policy so “do it or lose your job”. Can’t remember when it was that AHPRA got on the bandwagon but they quite clearly state you must go with the official narrative or else. I think it was an official email but workplace policies so you just had to.
    I remember the “mad cleaning squad” who would disinfect the phones and keyboards several times a day in their terror of the virus, These were experienced nurses and similar and despite the QHealth intranet being right in front of them (showing symptoms of the common cold were worse than Convid) they could/would not be dissuaded from the scenario of doom. Going into the office would make your eyes water and your nose run.
    The job had been becoming untenable for a few years with stupid mandatory competencies such as domestic violence and Cultural Competence. You couldn’t fail but to pass you had to accept all the left talking points as to why. Just bullshit. No pass, no work.
    I sent off a few complaints to AHPRA over the last few years but they’re lefties so cannot be questioned. It seems AHPRA has lots of complaints. About AHPRA.

    Out and about in Surfers last night. End of schoolies week and if what I saw was an indication of the future, well, we are f***ed. Oddly almost none of the ferals was speaking English and I didn’t recognise the language, if you can call it that. I doubt they speak it well anyway.
    Elvis impersonator. He’s going to Vegas next year for the Elvis convention and comp. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he won.

    Are you still in touch with ex-colleagues who would have received the letter? I heard about it while listening to a talkback radio show where a nurse (anti-injection) phoned and and was speaking about this letter restricting what they could say to patients, under risk of losing their jobs.

    Craig Kelly being appointed to the the Parliament’s new Social Media and Online Safety Committee is not because he thinks Craig has the talent for this or deserves this.

    It’s bribing Craig Kelly not to make trouble regarding vaccine worries and mandates and the over-authoritarian State and Federal governments. It’s to reduce the popularity of Craig’s fledgling party.

    And I think Craig has fallen for it. Scott Morrison is one of the most wily and quietly devious PMs ever, I think. He knows how to flatter and make a person feel needed and Craig Kelly needs to feel he still belongs to the LNP and is not an “outcast”.

    To accept such a position means he becomes somewhat indebted to the PM. Silly chap.

    Had a quick look through but can’t spot anything that was similar to what the nurse was talking about on the radio show. Maybe I’ve missed it in the links, or it must be a letter/email sent out to their members that had upset this nurse.

    Statements like these on the website may give the opposite impression of what really takes place. You have experience of that.

    candy, I was not aware of this and only checked up after reading your comment. I would agree that it may be a carrot being handed to Kelly to keep him onside till the elections. We have to hope that Kelly is clear on his end goal in the process and will use his position on the Committee, wisely.

    The federal MP Craig Kelly – who has been permanently banned from Facebook and criticised for the online distribution of “seriously misleading” information about Covid-19 vaccines – has been appointed to a parliamentary committee looking into social media and online safety.

    Craig Kelly has had his speeches in Parliament banned by YouTube. Imagine that, an Australian parliamentary member has had his speeches in Parliament banned by an overseas corporation.

    This has nothing to do with “keeping him onside” (Parliamentary committees are made up of members from all parties), Craig Kelly has very strong views about overseas corporations interfering with Australia’s political processes, that’s probably why he joined that committee.
