Speaking of Blog rules, I’ve have been permanently blocked at Powerline

    Cold-Hands,
I do not know how the Powerline blog is run. But your experience there may be due to an automated function to block and ban all comments that contain some words. It may seem harsh to get banned after one comment.

Should it be 3 strikes and you are out? Easier said than done.

For websites and blogs that allow comments, there is a lot that happens at the back end. There are the real commenters but also trolls, d**kheads, bots. There is plenty of Spam and Trash. There are also errors/typos/some words that the system will block and that has to be sorted by the system admin.

If a blog has been there for many years and has hundreds or thousands of commenters it is hard to keep track of first “offence” or repeat. So the blog may decide to just ban any comment with those words. Or use a commenting system that will do it.

Otherwise it will need moderators 24/7.

To explain a bit more what happens at the back end.

Posters on conservative sites want free speech. The blog owners want to allow free speech, without any rules, but at the same time you have to draw a line somewhere.

While some people use **** words in every sentence and want the freedom to say (and post) whatever they want, there are readers (posters and lurkers) who will turn away from a blog where certain swear words are allowed to be used. There’s few who enjoy rudeness and abuse on a site but other readers may be turned off by this type of interaction.

Is it better to lose commenters who want to swear and abuse or lose those who don’t like swearing and abuse?

If we had a blog poll: How many on this blog use or don’t mind the **** words and how many don’t like the use of those words?

How does a blog or website owner handle all that?

We can all slip up sometimes and forget that we are not sending a text msg or email to a friend who is used to the ****

There are blogs that do not permit the use of certain words. Banned.
On this blog, I’ve suggested self-moderation so I don’t need to block or ban those who know the rules.

The word “remarkable” should now get through.

The word “em-bed” (as one word) cannot be used. Haven’t been able to sort that. I’ve asked our tech expert to check it. For now, it needs a hyphen to get it past WordPress.

The bug with the time delay in viewing comments cannot be sorted as any attempt causes unmasking. The commenters who log in as registered or have the Save box checked will have no problems but others are not able to see the latest comments as soon as they are posted.

Remember to check that Save my name checkbox if you are an occasional commenter and not aware of the bug.

The Powerline comments section has pretty strict rules, as well as a caveat for the admin to delete or ban if he/she thinks it is warranted.

That said, as Adam points out, there are software glitches in play as well. Twitter is a good example – while leftist moderators are often at fault, sometimes it’s just the software that applies sanctions to apparently innocuous comments.

Whatever the site manager does, there will be a downside. For example, at Sinc’s back in the day he banned the use of the word ‘Jew’ because of a persistent anti-Semite who kept creeping in under aliases – guess who? Trouble was, it meant that if someone put up a comment using the word ‘jewellery’ it got blocked.

There are no perfect solutions, just like everything else in human affairs.

Steve, the ideologues are sweeping under the carpet all the hard earned knowledge that we have about the importance of ventilation.

I think it was Florence Nightingale who brought awareness about the need to avoid stale, germy air from accumulating around sick people.

As for masks, they don’t prevent transmission of nasties inwards, but they do restrict the expelling of your nasties outwards.

It might seem counter-intuitive, but the key is dilution. If you breathe fresh air outside, it has all sorts of nasties in it – but the dose is so low it doesn’t matter. Wearing a mask means that the bugs that you would normally expel to be diluted into harmlessness get a nice warm, wet place to multiply and be breathed back in again.

On the few occasions when I was forced to wear a mask, I wore it for no more than an hour, and then sterilised it with hot water, soap and disinfectant before re-use.

Making someone wear a mask all day is like keeping a kid in a dirty nappy all day, possibly worse.

    From the Australian

The debate on the Indigenous voice to parliament has shifted as Anthony Albanese offers more engagement and detail on the referendum while ramping up the risk of a failed vote.
    and
Mr Albanese told parliament that Australia’s international reputation was on the line and that a No result could damage some key economic….

Albo warns us that if the referendum fails it will affect Australia’s international reputation and also the economy, as it could impact relations with trade partners.

    Well, Albo, let’s see.

Since international reputations are affected by the decisions made in a country, Australia (the Albanese govt.) has cancelled trade with China due to its treatment of its citizens, the Uyghurs, the people of Hong Kong, Taiwan, any dissidents. Australia has vowed to never ever trade with China because of its reputation on human rights.

Australia has also firmly told Indonesia that it will not trade with it due to the issues connected to West Papua.

It will not deal with Ukraine due to its suppression of the opposition parties and media.

All those visits to China and meeting with Chinese govt by Albo and Wong were to point out the failings of China and its bad reputation. Those trips weren’t to beg Commie China to resume trade with Australia.

Yes, if the voters of Australia, a democratic nation, decide to reject the Voice, it will cast a huge stain on our reputation and all our trading partners will blacklist us.

This is how politicians deal with the really big issues.

I get lots of letters in this job.

But I particularly appreciated this one from 8 year old Elle, asking me to change the symbols on pedestrian lights, so they don’t all look like men.

I know it is not nice of me to be cynical, especially about a sweet 8-year old girl. But I must ask a few questions:

    – Is Elle related to Greta?
That is, are her parents in the same activist group of families that don’t mind using their school-aged kids to further their own woke agendas?

    – Did Elle skip school and sit outside the electoral office of Kate Thwaites where she wrote her letter?

    – Will 8-year old Elle still be ‘Elle’ in a few years or ‘Il’ after transitioning, having discovered that ‘she’ is a ‘he’ and ‘his/their’ parents will be very supportive?

    – Maybe she/he/they will, at the age of 10 or 12 years write a book about their life experiences facing gender discrimination against wymyns and trans peoples?

    – Lastly, can the public meet Elle to understand whether she sees these men-pedestrian lights when she is a busy pedestrian rushing to get to work or a passenger in a high-end luxury car?

That’s why we’re introducing a bill to fix that.

    Question Time, PM:

    A disgrace to humanity.

Attacks like this on Rosie are uncalled for.

She mentions that hydroxychlorquine had FDA approval withdrawn as it caused heart palpitations in Covid patients. Well, yes, that was the reason offered, without further consideration of this drug’s utility, nor taking into consideration of its widespread use and general population safety. This unusual side effect was at that time a very convenient excuse to knock out further research.

However, the side effect is real. Hydroxychloroquine does cause heart palpitations in some people.

Rose was simply reporting a fact. The FDA did use this reason. Perhaps she could have added that it provided a convenient excuse to push attention onto prevention by vaccines rather than by other preventatives or treatments. But this ad femina abuse of Rose should stop.

State why you think she is wrong rather than abuse her in the most dreadful manner for a truthful statement. Who the hell do you think you are, Trickler and Matrix, so be so vile and pick up so many upticks for it? Why do people want to agree with such vileness here?

    BS!

You, like Rosie, have defended Big Pharma since the get go and played along with people getting that sh*t injected into their arms as if it was a good thing. “I’ve read heaps of epistemological studies”…you probably still think the vaccination schedule for everyone is all honky-dory. Kids getting injected immediately after leaving birth canal? No problem in your book, right?

It ain’t. It all needs to be questioned, so my advice is STFU.

    Doc Coleman:

    Passing Observations 141
    11TH FEBRUARY 2023

1: Three of my old videos are now available once more on this website. Just go to the video button to see them. The three newly republished videos are: ‘The Coming Global Food Shortage’ (13th June 2020), ‘We are fighting for our future’ (18th June 2020), ‘Have you been put on a list and left to die’ (June 18th 2020).

2: Why is diversity considered such a wonderful thing? Why does every city, town and village have to be cosmopolitan? I realise that probably no more than seven and a half billion people think as I do about this, but I’ve had enough diversity. I’m full up with the stuff. I am overflowing with it. I like local traditions – mine and everyone else’s – but if I want to see foreign peoples and foreign customs I can travel. And foreigners can come to England and sit by log fires in country pubs and eat spotted dick with custard. The conspiratorial globalists want to destroy history and culture because they know that these things give us our individuality and humanity. Diversity is fashionable with the woke (oh how I loathe them) but why do they feel the need to force it upon the rest of us? I’ve had more than enough diversity, thank you, and I can manage very well without any more.

3: According to Human Rights Watch, Ukraine is using banned rocket launched landmines and/or cluster bombs which look like toys (and which I seem to remember were made and used by the Israelis). The mines are fired to land in and around homes. The idea is to injure children and to create misery and block hospitals. Some of Ukraine’s supporters say this shouldn’t be investigated until the end of the war.

4: The UK is the second biggest donor to Ukraine (after the USA). The British Government has given far more money and far more arms than the British people can afford. I don’t remember being asked if I wanted to be at war.

5: Transparency and accountability no longer exist in modern political life. There isn’t a politician in the world whom I would trust to buy me a bag of sweets. They’d either steal my money or eat all the sweets.

6: The Russian economy is doing much better than the American economy and much, much better than the British economy. India, which is now buying cheap Russian oil, is doing very well.

7: Why did the Americans and the British break off peace talks with Russia?

8: We pay for the Bilderberger meetings. We pay the salaries of most of those who attend. We pay their expenses. We pay for their massive security. Why are we not allowed to know what they discuss and what they decide? It seems clear to me that they are plotting behind our backs and are planning a World Government. (If that’s not true they could always publish their deliberations.)

9: NATO doesn’t think that the Russians will use nuclear weapons. I don’t think they care whether or not the war in Ukraine becomes a nuclear war. They don’t seem to understand that nuclear war is like tic-tac-toe. Whoever makes the first move will win. Oh, and the NATO generals don’t seem to know that no one has ever conquered Russia. The Russians know their land. Ask Napoleon about Moscow. Ask Hitler about Stalingrad. Is it too absurd to suggest that the conspirators (who all have access to nuclear shelters and well-equipped super yachts) want a nuclear war as part of their population control

10: Surveys now show that ‘medical tyranny’ is now the world’s No 1 fear – above everything else. I’m not surprised.

11: The UK’s National Health Service is now more unpopular than at any time in its history. And it’s not the strikes which have made it so unpopular (though they haven’t helped).

12: What’s the difference between globalists and Nazis? I can’t think of any real difference except the uniforms and the boots.

13: In the UK, waiting times for treatment are now approximately five times longer than they were long before the fake pandemic caused massive disruption. The waiting time for cancer referrals and procedures is ten times worse than it was in 2011. The NHS has become a killing machine.

14: It is not true that the NHS is short of staff. The truth is that the NHS has too many staff members but most of them are doing the wrong things. There are far too many administrators and far too many diversity officers. And far too much time and money is wasted on stupid red tape. The NHS could be a far better organisation with half the staff and half the money. (Read my short book NHS: What’s wrong and how to put it right if you want to know the cure.)

15: Dogs which are not on leads should (and soon will) be banned from all footpaths, all parks, all beaches and all public spaces. The number of uncontrolled dogs running around is responsible for an epidemic of deaths and injuries caused by dogs. And owners who don’t pick up after their dogs should be fined £1,000,000 per offence. In the UK alone around 50 children a year go blind because of infections caused by dog excreta in parks and on beaches. No one seems to care about this.

16: The worst racism in our history is now directed at white Christians. The worst sexism is directed at white men over the age of 50.

17: The idea that breakfast is a crucial meal came from an employee of Kellogg’s. I wonder why.

18: In the UK, more knee and health replacements are now done outside the NHS than are done within it.

19: In the UK the Royal Mail has allegedly made postmen and postwomen carry digital devices which send a message to their boss if they stand still for a moment and chat to a lonely householder. I despair, I truly do.

20: Why do so many people expect me to do complicated things on my 2G telephone? The other day I was sent a text asking me to reply ‘yes’ or ‘no’. I made five attempts to respond and then got a message back saying ‘We do not understand’. And do you know what – I bet there are five million people in the UK who couldn’t even try to answer. Or wouldn’t even receive the question. We are now together outside society. In 2004 I wrote a book called Why everything is going to get worse. I didn’t know just how much worse.

You may consider yourself to be Conservative or centre-right and are concerned about the NWO, WEF, Great Reset. But may also rate yourself as an atheist/agnostic or non Catholic. So news related to the Catholic Church and what is happening there may not seem of much consequence.

    Here’s why it is important.

The Catholic Church is most likely the only major institution/organisation currently standing in the way of the Great Reset and New World Order.

Think major issues: abortion, euthanasia, “SSM”, trannyism, “feminism”, “gender equality” (women priests), removing prayer, God, Bible, faith from the public square, persecuting Christians. Add Covid, vaccines, climate change and anti-Russian propaganda.

If they (the Resetters and their minions) can destroy the Catholic Church, they can then comfortably get on with their reset and world dominion. They have been getting a lot of co-operation in their agenda 2030 from the current reign in the Vatican.

All those faithful cardinals, bishops, priests, Catholic media, church and lay organisations that have been battling various causes – for pro-life/anti-abortion, anti-euthanasia, anti-SSM, anti-genderism, pro-faith and traditional teachings of Catholicism, pro-family, pro-freedom – are fighting against the NWO. They are fighting to save the world from tyrants and the destruction of the values, life and freedoms that we have enjoyed for centuries.

The left, and those who do not understand western civilisation, have taken all of its benefits without considering the contribution of Christianity to the very comfortable lives they enjoy today.

They imagine that it all just happened – just like the Big Bang.

The globalist agenda has been to get their protégées/puppets into top roles in government and organisations so that their plan can be implemented.

    Examples:
    Canada (Trudeau), NZ (Ardern)
Did Canadians or New Zealanders consent to the globalist interference in their countries? No.

The same in the Catholic Church. In my rant last week (5 Feb), re the Catholic church and the problem of sexual abuse, I mentioned it is not the faithful heterosexual priests or laity.

As per the globalist agenda via the “Mafia” the plan to get Bergoglio into the top job had been on pre-2005. It did not succeed in 2005 (when Benedict was elected) but they got him in 2013 (when Benedict resigned).

The aim is to get rid of the teachings of the Church on abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality – to make killing babies and useless people quite okay, and homosexuality and lgbtism mainstream and acceptable.

The teaching of Catechism of the Catholic Church, is clear:
homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered and
under no circumstances can they be approved.

Yet, at the top level there are supporters of the globalist agenda. We can’t clean up the church with these unfaithful “shepherds” in charge.

Three articles (comment 3) and the next (comment 4) will give an idea of the unfaithful shepherds vs. the faithful ones.

    Rant central!

A good friend decided he wanted to adopt a Greyhound from the RSPCA. He has a large property in the hills and walked his previous dog twice daily…he works from home. The dog was rescued from a car wreckers of all places, blind in one eye and probably the most ugly dog you can imagine. He was so affectionate being in a loving home, you couldn’t help but love him. He stroked out and died recently.

Anyway, my friend goes to RSPCA and the fat bush pig with green dyed hair and glasses knocked him back because he doesn’t have a fence. Absolute bullsh*t! He has a huge shed which his previous dog used to sleep if not inside. They had a kid, and decided it was best to let him sleep outside.

The dog he wanted to adopt was a gorgeous specimen, now resides in cage, instead of on a massive property and getting walked twice daily because of the useless fat bitch that said nope!

F*ck the RSPCA! Very much like PETA, the dog will likely be euthanized soon if it doesn’t find a home in a suburban backyard from people who have to work ( no fault of theirs ) where as this dog, my mate wanted adopt, would be now having a good life and not be waiting for the owners to get back home from work.

    I am f*cking pissed off!

    2023.02.12 A Message to Germans—Nord Stream Bombing – Gonzalo Lira – 11 mins.

A great problem has occurred, the commentariat have all accepted Seymour Hersh’s account as fact, oblivious to the fact that Norway wasn’t in any way involved. Seymour has been fed information from an anonymous source who wants to muddy the waters and pass blame to another party who wasn’t involved.

The problem is that Norway, which has denied involvement, may prove that it wasn’t involved, therefore the “mystery” goes back to an unresolved status, and those in the commentariat who have promoted Hersh’s theory will be shown as unreliable commentators, and Seymour Hersh’s own reputation will also be damaged.

    My apologies, I’ll try again.

Lira’s argument is that Norway blew up the pipelines (Hersh’s claim) and they were encouraged to do so by the USA.

This muddies the water, Norway has denied the claim and if they can prove that they weren’t involved, then Hersh’s theory goes into the garbage bin.

Hersh’s anonymous source is attempting to shield the sole perpetrator and if/when Norway proves it wasn’t involved, then there goes Hersh’s claim and reputation, along with those in the commentariat who have amplified it.

It’s worth noting that a Norway to Poland gas pipeline was opened the same day the Nord Stream pipelines were destroyed which could be said to show Norway’s evil intentions, i.e., become a monopolistic energy provider.

I’d bet that those “in the know” in Norway now realise how deadly their ally in the US is. Expect to see marauding dragon prowed Viking ships raiding the US east coast soon.

Big Pharma have some uses – antibiotics saved my life in 2021 during lockdown when I was left with a massive internal infection due to no doctor being willing to lay a hand of me to see what was wrong. Last minute antibiotics to the rescue there. These days people don’t die from minor (or major) infections turning into blood poisoning, but they used to die in droves from that in the pre-antibiotic days. The very helpful anaesthetics used today in surgery are a great improvement on the ether on a cone mask that used to put me under as a child. These too are a product of pharmaceutical research. It is a necessary part of modern life, ‘tho often flawed and careless and sometimes immoral.

As for the Covid jabs, I have consistently made it clear in anything I write that I have been against them for children especially, and for people not at risk who are not aged. I think they should never have been approved for widespread population use as they have too high a rate of dangerous side effects. I am aged eighty, and consequently took a gamble on the unknown risk of the AZ jabs when they were first developed, but I have never supported mRNA jabs, tho’ AZ is still DNA with a viral vector. I accepted Novavax non-mRNA or DNA, as a booster, but won’t have any other jabs, as the data suggests regular jabs are harmful as well as useless (and they may have been so from the start) – the jury is out there for older people. The data is scattered and often poorly disaggregated and the viral variant in exposure may also be an issue. Alpha was very severe, Omicron, which I have had, was a nothing burger for me as for most people.

It is true that I have read a few epistemological studies, as part of studies in the philosophy of science, but I think you really mean, in the jab context, epidemiological studies. I have a masters degree majoring in epidemiology (MPH) and so I have had to learn the ropes of that type of research and the complex statistics and study designs used for good studies. Raw data that looks convincing may, when properly analysed and all variables are accounted, be less convincing than it at first seems. Dr. John Campbell on Youtube has provided and still provides some clues as to how to read epidemiological studies, and to the politicisation of these too.
