Documentary: EUROPA: The Last Battle

We’ve studied history in school. The accounts of the past have been written by the historians and included as part of the curriculum. From there some of us have gone on to study the subject at university level, or read books and watched films based on historical events. But is all that we have read and learnt based on facts, or on the perceptions and the bias of the recorders who were on the victorious side of the events and battles?

In his novel which won the 2015 Pultizer Prize for Fiction, All the Light We Cannot See, Anthony Doerr wrote:

You know the greatest lesson of history? It’s that history is whatever the victors say it is. That’s the lesson. Whoever wins, that’s who decides the history. We act in our own self-interest. Of course we do. Name me a person or a nation who does not. The trick is figuring out where your interests are.

Have we been told the truth about the wars, especially about World War II?  I recently came across this documentary, from 2017, called EUROPA: The Last Battle. It has been written, directed and produced by Tobias Bratt. The documentary has been described by some as a neo-Nazi propaganda film with antisemitic conspiracy theories. It has been discredited and there have been attempts to ban it.

From the description blurb below the video:

Since the mid-20th century, the world has only ever heard one side of the most horrific war in human history. During the 75 years that have now passed, only a single narrative of the great conflict has been heard…..

This documentary gives an overview of how Europe has been shaped in modern history. In it, you will find the secret history, where you will find the real causes of the events. Watch this series and uncover the real root causes of World War II. It will take you on an epic timeline that will transport you back in time and lead you on the journey through the Bolshevik Revolution, the communist attempts to take over Germany; hyperinflation during the Weimar Republic, widespread unemployment and misery, Adolf Hitler’s rise to power, World War I & II – all the way to the modern world. It presents the true historical events that lead to this world catastrophe known as the second world war, as well as the aftermath.

Do be forewarned though, your worldview might never be the same. As always, the Truth Fears No Investigation.

It comprises 9 parts and totals 12 hours. That makes it a very long documentary, and you may be inclined to dismiss it. But it is split in parts, and you take take it at your own pace. As someone who seeks the truth, I decided that I would like to view it first, and then make up mind about it. Is any of it true? Is it fiction? I’ve watched the first two parts and am now continuing with the rest. I am sharing it here for others with a similar desire to watch and arrive at your own conclusions, not what has previously been decided by others.

Appreciate the effort in putting this together, kaysee.
The quote about the ‘victors’ writing history has more meaning now, as we witness it.

I was very impressed by reading Len Deighton’s “Winter”- a Berlin family 1899 – 1945. Fiction but with deep understanding of the viewpoint of German citizens throughout the wars and political maneuvering which shaped the background to Hitler’s reign.

If I had come across this documentary in July last year, I would have been sceptical over its content. But having closely followed the real news, not the MSM/Alt MSM versions, over this past year has made me watch this doco as a truth seeker. So far, I have watched the first four parts.

The records in our history books and films, presented to us as facts, have demonised some figures and depicted others as world statesmen. But the narration and evidence in the documentary suggests the reverse may be true.

If you are watching this in parts, it requires a few minutes of patience (each time) as the video takes a few minutes to load.
