Lol. The Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association “doctor”s ravings were posted here a couple of weeks ago.

One of these days the scales may fall from Terry’s eyes and he’ll realise the difference between sneering and things of probative value.

    In the meantime…

Then I linked to the current situation in Japan, viz. that there is no proof that Ivermectin works against COVID-19, either in Japan or anywhere else in the world,

    ***********

In fact what’s been asserted on this site is that there’s very strong evidence. There are innumerable instances of doctors in many parts of the world reporting that it does, including the chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association.  Some would say there’s enough to constitute “proof”, but a debate about whether or not there’s “proof” is utterly superfluous in an environment where experimental “vaccines” are already being spruiked.

    **********

and that Ivermectin is only being used in Japan for the treatment of scabies, a parasitic infestation.

    ***********

Let’s see what the Japanese distributor of Ivermectin says:

Maruho reports increased orders and inquiries about the medication but says it is currently not fulfilling orders outside dermatological uses for the most part.

Note the words “for the most part”. No-one asserted that use of Ivermectin is widespread, just that it’s been happening and is achieving good results. The chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association said so. How does Terry know to the contrary? How does Terry know that it’s “only” used for scabies? Perhaps Terry has private detectives all over Tokyo snooping on what every doctor is prescribing to every covid patient?

    Ivermectin for Terrence.

Macrocyclic lactones, including avermectins and milbemycins, are novel parasiticides and insecticides that are produced through fermentation by soil-dwelling microorganisms. Although various macrocyclic lactones may differ in their potency and safety, all of them are believed to share common pharmacologic/toxicologic mechanisms, i.e. leading to paralysis and death of parasites and other target organisms via the activation of a glutamate-gated chloride channel in the invertebrate nerve and muscle cells and/or through the effect on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors. Ivermectin is the first macrocyclic lactone that was released for use in both animals and humans, and has demonstrated both excellent efficacy and high tolerability in the treatment of parasite infestations. Other macrocyclic lactones, such as abamectin, emamectin, and moxidectin were subsequently commercialized and have been used as insecticides and acaricides for crop protection or parasiticides for animal health. Although ivermectin therapy is generally well tolerated, adverse effects that are usually transient and mild-to-moderate can occur. Severe adverse effects are rare and can generally be effectively controlled by symptomatic measures. Non-therapeutic exposures to ivermectin and other macrocyclic lactones may also result in toxic effects; significant toxicity however probably develops only after large amount of oral ingestion. Although the exact mechanisms remain unclear, macrocyclic lactones in large doses may pass through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to produce GABA-mimetic toxic effects. Severely poisoned patients usually present with coma, hypotension, respiratory failure, and even death. Despite the lack of specific therapy, the prognosis is likely to be favorable unless the poisoned patients are complicated with severe hypotension or respiratory failure.

    Not just for worms Terrence.
    Abstract

See Basbaum (doi:10.1093/brain/awx227) for a scientific commentary on this article. Peripheral neuropathic pain arises as a consequence of injury to sensory neurons; the development of ectopic activity in these neurons is thought to be critical for the induction and maintenance of such pain. Local anaesthetics and anti-epileptic drugs can suppress hyperexcitability; however, these drugs are complicated by unwanted effects on motor, central nervous system and cardiac function, and alternative more selective treatments to suppress hyperexcitability are therefore required. Here we show that a glutamate-gated chloride channel modified to be activated by low doses of ivermectin (but not glutamate) is highly effective in silencing sensory neurons and reversing neuropathic pain-related hypersensitivity. Activation of the glutamate-gated chloride channel expressed in either rodent or human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived sensory neurons in vitro potently inhibited their response to both electrical and algogenic stimuli. We have shown that silencing is achieved both at nerve terminals and the soma and is independent of membrane hyperpolarization and instead likely mediated by lowering of the membrane resistance. Using intrathecal adeno-associated virus serotype 9-based delivery, the glutamate-gated chloride channel was successfully targeted to mouse sensory neurons in vivo, resulting in high level and long-lasting expression of the channel selectively in sensory neurons. This enabled reproducible and reversible modulation of thermal and mechanical pain thresholds in vivo; analgesia was observed for 3 days after a single systemic dose of ivermectin. We did not observe any motor or proprioceptive deficits and noted no reduction in cutaneous afferent innervation or upregulation of the injury marker ATF3 following prolonged glutamate-gated chloride channel expression. Established mechanical and cold pain-related hypersensitivity generated by the spared nerve injury model of neuropathic pain was reversed by ivermectin treatment. The efficacy of ivermectin in ameliorating behavioural hypersensitivity was mirrored at the cellular level by a cessation of ectopic activity in sensory neurons. These findings demonstrate the importance of aberrant afferent input in the maintenance of neuropathic pain and the potential for targeted chemogenetic silencing as a new treatment modality in neuropathic pain.

The explanation I have is pretty useless unfortunately Fat Tony. The trauma is a feeling of not being able to mark your territory (eg make a difficult decision (for animals this would be the choice of where to burrow a hole or something like that). The stones are built up during this phase during ulceration of the kidneys. The purpose is to increase your ability to mark your territory during the conflict phase (with more pungent urine) – obviously not a lot of help for humans but for animals it serves a purpose.

The healing phase (when the stones try and come out) are of course the only part we notice. For most people they still won’t notice but for people who are prone to swelling (ie people who retain water easily) it will be painful. Excruciating in fact. Animals won’t notice this because they are far less likely to be suffering the water retention conflict at the same time as humans are.

That’s the biology, but in truth, there’s not much you can do with the information. If the stones are so big you need a stent, then you need a stent. You certainly can’t avoid the pain. If you know what trauma caused the first one then you might be able to train your mind not to make the same “mistake” again.

Why assume that they would be a bad thing?

I mean, we already have people postulating that they might be beneficial in breaking down kidney stones.

Misogynistic old blokes said that about Maggie Thatcher too.  She showed ’em.

Viagra-gulping guys can get a bit snarky though.  Still a few low testosterones here.

Why, hello Ruprecht!  Still banging on your potty there?

I normally get a number 2. I like it nice and short.

I am worried if i do it myself i might look stupid.

I also need to see a dentist but my normal dentist is closed.

WW2 Germany would have more services than current Australia

    Bird.

    Nano wrigglers do NOT exist.

I realise you are searching for a reason to explain your rapid decline in cognitive ability, but it is definitely not wrigglers eating your brain.

Dr Zelenko Interview with Craig Kelly – How can Australia Get it so Wrong (ourfreedomtube.com)

Dr. Zelenko gets it absolutely right.  Scott Morrison and his government have prostituted themselves and sold out the people of this country that they were elected to protect.

Pfft, nano wrigglers? The cutest worms are Planaria.  They look as though they have two little eyes staring up at you.  They regenerate when bits are cut off so are of some interest to pharmacology.  In a uni experiment in Zoology mine all died when cut.  Experiment ‘concluded due to death of all Planaria’ as my co-experimenter wrote.

With this nano-wriggler theory Bird, who do you imagine might have unleashed the wriggler scourge and why?

    Was it Muslim terrorists?

    Who?

What are you doing here Lizzie, you hate the place.

i know what it is. Since the ‘mean’ people don’t post at Unicorn Cat, you’ve no sympathy to garner and seem to the others,  well, just boring and self centred. You come here hoping for some attention.

Bird’s off his meds; I thought he was on song with his terraforming tutorial but this nano wriggler bullshit sounds like a 1980s horror show.

I don’t hate this place, Ruprecht.  I’m here for the nostalgia.

It reminds me of my childhood home.

It was full of crazy people too.  And some I loved as well.
