    Reported by the ABC:

Overseas carbon taxes could see the profitability of Australian emissions-intensive exporters of commodities like aluminium and steel plummet, according to new analysis from a leading business lobby group.

    Key points:

Australian Industry Group says there will be opportunities and risks from an EU carbon border tax
EU carbon border tax will be the first domino to fall

Analysts say polluters will pay elsewhere, while Australia misses out on the revenue
New analysis of the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) from the Australian Industry Group found Australian exporters would pay the price of carbon-intensive production.

Australia’s biggest energy consumer, Tomago aluminium smelter, has seen the writing on wall and announced plans to switch from coal and gas to renewables by 2029.

Reposted from a moderated comment on the other Cat, in response to Bruce from WA:

    Bruce,
    I feel your pain.

I felt like I had been gut-punched when I was informed that McGowan had instituted a ‘at least one jab to enter the state’ policy. It was a threshold I never thought I’d see crossed in this country.

I was once proud of my country, so proud and grateful that I spent a good portion of my life dedicated to it’s defence. I’ve only just realised that it wasn’t my country I was proud of, it was what it provided it’s citizens, what it stood for. That has all been removed in less than 18 months. The country has literally been divided into parts, segments of our citizens have been de-humanised, and the very essence of our personal property, the sovereignty of our bodies, are being bandied about as a political football, all by a government sworn to protect the integrity of the Commonwealth, and our rights.

I once sourced great pride and motivation from my fellow countrymen and women. I’m left now with an overwhelming sense of disgust. How quickly our society and culture disintegrated into that morass of human filth that fills our history books. I don’t wish to be here any longer, but I remain focused on my wife and children.

My duty is to see them through this, or at least soften their landing into whatever dystopian nightmare finds equilibrium. Nothing else now matters, certainly not some illusion of a ‘united’ country, filled with tough, fair minded people who believe in a fair go. That Australia, if it even existed in the new century, was crushed under the feet of the panicked crowd in March last year. I’ll continue to help and support those who are struggling against this insanity, but I’ll not be doing so based on the fact that they label themselves ‘Australian’. They’ll now need better bonafides than that. It’s a meaningless label.

Whatever the eventual outcome, a return to my ‘normality’ or, indeed, a ‘new normal’, things can never be remotely the same. Some things, once seen, cannot be unseen. Once rung, Bells cannot be unrung. I’ve seen what a large portion of my fellow citizens are capable of, and I fear I may not have seen the worst of it yet. I’ve seen the indifference they have to what I thought were traditional Australian values. I’ve also seen what our politicians, of both persuasions, are capable of. More importantly for the future, they’ve seen what they can get away with…and how.

America’s humiliation in Afghanistan confirms that the woke West is utterly incapable of standing up for itself.

…the comparison with Saigon is an illegitimate one. Back then, the US was forced into retreat by powerful external forces – the Vietnamese, of course, and also the anti-war movement in the US, in which vast swathes of the youth and significant sections of the elite turned against the war.

The Afghan humiliation, in contrast, is a product almost entirely of internal disarray – of the exhaustion of American politics, of Western geopolitical nous, and of the West’s belief in its own project and its own values.

There is nothing positive whatsoever in how the Afghan War has ended. It is a disaster for the Afghan people, a devastating blow to the confidence of the United States, and another backward step for those of us who believe that the values of democracy and freedom are superior and are worth fighting for. The Afghan calamity will cast a long shadow, for a long time.

Calli – They’re in a terrible bind. They have to know from overseas experience, especially in Israel, that 80% double dose vaccination does not prevent explosive spread, and it will not prevent large numbers of deaths of frail people in nursing homes.

Yet they have dug a huge hole for themselves by banning ivermectin and HCQ, and monstering GPs who wish to prescribe them.

That kid who died of meningitis due to Covid is an example of the bankrupt nature of the white-coat class. The original regimen for HCQ was for it to be taken with azithromycin and zinc. The azithromycin was intended to prevent opportunistic bacterial infections such as pneumonia and sepsis from gut bacteria getting into the bloodstream. The vaccines do absolutely nothing about those issues, but by denying the use of the combination therapy they also are denying the bacterial infection danger…again because that would force them to say the HCQ proponents are right.

They cannot be seen to be wrong, yet they are increasingly aware that they are wrong. So they seem to be doubling down, then redoubling and redoubling, hoping for a different outcome. It’s very lefty.

Simply monitor them and every time they get uppity hit them from the air.

    —————————-

    That’s precisely what we did.

Then we pulled out leaving the Afghan army without the ability to call in air strikes when the Taliban entered cities.

Hence the wave of units surrendering/running away and the speed with which those cities fell.

    We have a perfect storm.
    This is the simplified version.

We have a government/s who went in with the push from senior bureaucrats and politicians long since aligned and working for Klaus to bring in a New World order they thought could be achieved.
It was a knee jerk reaction because Trump was winning.
Their brilliant minds (as they see it) had this as a back up Plan.
A fight back against Brexit and Trump.
Left wing arrogance is overwhelming but it’s not bright.
    Emotion over fact still reigns.
Australian Pollies not part of it are mostly easily cowered career politicians, paid more than any other pollies in the world, and will put up with anything and have zero integrity or morality, such is their level of indecency.
Sco Mo, with the other Globalists…Greg Hunt will be outed as one of the main pollies, and Jane Halton one of the main unelected filth working for the WEF.
However all at the top are now got at by them.
Gladys prefers to punish 7 million odd people than resign due to the threats of the globalists.

    A godless nation.

Now we know one thing for sure.
Once they have gone this far, they know , THEY KNOW, there is no turning back for them.
They will not risk being judged by free people of the future that may wish to hold them to account.
    They must remain anaccountable.
    How do you do that.
You NEVER give people back their freedom, and by doing so, basically put yourself at their mercy.
So these c..nts of people fear us and hate us.
While alive, with any sort of power, they feel threatened.
That’s why they are doubling down.
Imagine sleeping at night knowing you have locked millions of people in their homes and stopped people seeing their dying relatives, or to touch and hug their loved ones.
These people will justify all evil, and if again, we look at history, we will see how this will end.
As Hitler said at the end, so much did he hate humanity and fear the righteous.
His people had failed him and didn’t deserve to live.

Anyone who thinks at this stage this will be resolved at the ballot box is a fucking moron.
The murderous, evil shit in charge will never let it happen in a month of Sundays.

    Time to face the reality.
The sooner we do, the saner we will be, and the fitter our minds will be for the fight.

Truck drivers will be able to get through to WA without a vaccination.
If they do force truckies to take the jab, I reckon you WA people better stock up.
Especially on powdered milk and the like.
You’re about to realise you can produce Iron ore, but you can’t feed yourself.
Maybe Grain you might do it, but that’s it.
Think about what you consume that you don’t produce enough of yourselves and stock up.
To those Western Australians who think you produce enough things like milk, I can assure you, you do not.
I know about half the guys that supply you road trains of milk each week, won’t be getting Jabbed.
They work for a company called Booth Transport, and they bring in 100’s of thousands of litres of milk each week, which then Wesern Australians brand as Browns milk and other WA brands, which have milk ignorant Western Australians believing they are drinking milk from Betsy on a farm near near Dunsborough…..
Stock up if he stops the truckies.
