Well here we go again. I believe the movement of black and Latinos away from the Democrats is driven by the LGBTYUAQ issue. I think this is the pervasive issue. Support for gaydom celebration is played up everywhere in the media, so no one can miss it.

The anti-USA/EU feelings in places like Uganda and West Africa, Russia, Balkans, Hungary, Iran and Arab states, by the common folk, is driven by it. The UN and almost all the NGO’s are pushing gaydom. The other issues are important, but this reaches every family and to every man.

The gays I know dislike the ‘celebration’ as they know where it ultimately leads. Interesting that Tucker has picked this up.

Defence has confirmed Australian troops were involved in a truck crash in Darwin overnight that left two personnel in a serious condition.
The incident marks the latest in a string of high-profile military accidents, including the killing of three US marines on Tuesday.
Northern Territory Police responded to reports an Army Bushmaster overturned at Howard Springs shortly before 9pm on Wednesday.
“Police and St John Ambulance attended. Paramedics have stated that seven people were taken to hospital,” NT police said in a statement.
“The matter is under investigation by Department of Defence and police will assist with inquiries where required.”
A St John Ambulance Service spokesperson said six ambulance units were dispatched to the scene, including two Intensive Care Paramedics.
“The crews transported seven patients to hospital, two in a serious but stable condition,” the spokesperson said.
“Another one patient was transported with moderate injuries, and four with minor injuries.”
The Department of Defence later confirmed in a statement that eight troops from Australia and Timor Leste had been involved in the crash.
“All received medical assistance and some were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries,” Defence said.
“Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our soldiers. More information will be made available when appropriate.”
Military personnel began arriving in Darwin this week for the Australia-led Predators Run exercises, which included US and Timorese troops.
The exercises follow the deaths of four Australian defence members when their helicopter crash in Queensland during Talisman Sabre.

If the Trump-related comments that I have posted in the past 1-2 years on the Open Threads as well as the Post in July have not answered your questions, perhaps it may be best to scroll past my comments?

Apologies for so many “essays” 🤔 in the space of one week. I wasn’t planning on a long one, but decided on it after catching up with the last page of the August Open Thread.

I have only short spells here so I try to get what is on my mind out in that time. There are some repetitions in the comments that follow.

If there are any here who have been regular readers of my comments you would have noted that I rarely post comments or links (especially those on major topics) without an explanation. I don’t like to post a link (click bait) without a few lines explaining what it is about (unless it is the numeros). Most people are busy and it can be annoying to have to click a link and not know where it is going. Along with some info in a comment, I also try to post as many reference links as possible. This is to allow those who have a serious interest in the topic to go and probe it further.

I have explained in the past week the reason why I write long comments. It is not because I have nothing to do with my time and it is not because I love to chatter. I spend a great deal of time reading and learning. I can’t keep the knowledge I have gained to myself; I have learned from others who shared the knowledge they had. So I pass it on. And I learn from those who come to this blog to contribute what they know.

In the past few years much has happened to open our eyes to the world around us. Whenever some topic has begun to niggle or concern me, I’ve felt myself pushed to find more information, and I go on a research binge. That has been the case with Covid, Climate, Ukraine, WEF, Woke, Gender and so on. What I have found, I have come and posted on the blog as comments, or if it was a topic of some depth, I put it out as a Post.

Over here on the blog we share the same basic world view on some topics and, hence, I haven’t been called an anti-vaxxer, or climate denier, or Putin supporter or bigot, or racist or homophobe or transphobe or Islamophobe. So I have to say I was a bit surprised by a comment that was posted here this past week, on another topic. But, never mind. It is a free speech blog.

This is on the US Election 2024. Just like some of the other issues that bothered me, this one sprang up around 2 years ago. It was a Big Red Flag that I couldn’t ignore. It was difficult to find any conservative sites with answers. But as I kept digging, I slowly came across other like-minded travellers. I started getting so much by way of data and facts, that I began to bookmark or save the links. Our blog here has a focus on sharing and discussion of all that is newsworthy, and I have posted on this subject going back over at least 15-16 months.

I am aware that many of you are on a different track from me on this point, and that is fine. It would be far easier to keep quiet, remain neutral and go with the flow, as in this case the majority appear to be pro-Trump/MAGA.

At one level, I doubt our opinions matter because we are not US voters. But if there are any of you who are like me, that is, you yearn to learn and find the truth rather than follow what the majority believe, I am passing on what I am picking up elsewhere. This is mainly from US voters who do have a direct link and impact on the voting and outcome. These are true conservatives who care about their country and are evaluating the candidates based on various factors. I’ve found myself leaning towards them because their values and concerns are quite close to mine. I don’t know any of them, except by their social media profile.

It is not my role to tell anyone how to think or what opinion they should have.
So my commenting follows this course: I post a comment with info, links and sometimes add my opinion, feedback or suggestions. After that, it is up to you, the reader, to:
    – Read
    – Research
    – Reflect
    – Analyse
    – Connect the dots and
    – Arrive at a Conclusion.

This makes it Your Educated Opinion on a topic.

I have no personal connection to any of the political parties in the US or the candidates or anyone connected to anything in that system. I just care about what is right and what is the truth. What is best for our society and our world. I worry about what will happen if the Democrats win the election.

Trump supporters/MAGA trot out the same clichés over and over again. The same tired lines to support Trump-is–god. The same old insults hurled at anyone who does not revere Trump, and their current target is mainly DeSantis. There is no proof or evidence to go with the claims.

If a billion people in the world say that Trump-is-god and a thousand “conservative” public figures speak out about Trump-the-hero and why he should be supported, it would not make a difference to my opinion. I have spent over two years and countless hours of research on this topic. I have facts, details and truth on my side. I am now immune to the MAGA propaganda from Magadonians and “conservatives”.

I have plenty more to post as I have collected links and clips, so I am going to start up another thread on the US election issues. This will keep the topic in one place for anyone who would like to easily follow this subject, note the pattern of the candidates’ behaviours, priorities and characters, connect the dots and get to the truth.

I have stated that I am open to debates, discussions, disagreements on anything I have posted. But, please remember that I support my points with links and evidence; I expect others to do the same. It makes for intelligent input and discussions, rather than name-calling and pot-shots which lack substance.

Trump or someone else winning may become a moot point if the 2024 elections are suspended due to the War Act. If NATO commits to go to war with Russia then Biden is authorised to suspend the elections.

Would the neo-cons and the corruptocracy running the show over there do this? You bet they would.

I’m a bit concerned that the Russians haven’t spoken about the drone attacks on a Russian airbase recently, they usually announce the full news the following day, but on this attack they haven’t spoken.

Why the silence? Do they have proof that the drones flew from Estonia (30 kms away) or Latvia (70 kms away), both of those nations being NATO members (Ukraine was out of range to attack the airbase). Is this another attempt to poke the bear, to get Russia to respond and therefore drag all of NATO into another world war?

Estonia might be up for a bit of bear poking, the Prime Minister (another of those WEF girlies who have taken over eastern European and Scandinavian governments) is in strife as her husband was involved in business interests in Russia in breach of the sanctions. What better way to get that piece of news off the front pages than start WW III?

  16. I’d still like to see Trump get his second term and act as a Berserker, in an even-more-concentrated form as he knows this time he only has four years and he has a better understanding of just how deep the swamp actually is. I see him as being the only one capable of dismantling the Deep State.

I would have liked Desantis to stand following Trump’s second term and am disappointed that he both is nominating against Trump and abandoning his second Florida term in the process. Had he completed his governorship the way he started he would have been in the box seat. Now I see him as throwing that away in impatience as he goes for the top job.

I’m liking Vivek Ramaswamy now as he seems competent, has the outsider’s perspective as Trump does and I like his thinking. Bruce of Newcastle on the other Çat pointed out a slight tin ear to Christian sensitivities (I think in relation to Israel) which belies his Hindu perspective but that could be balanced with the right advice. Someone else pointed out that his approach within the presidental race is targetting the VP nomination under Trump and that would be a good team in my mind.

My big unknowns in all this are (i) whether Trump’s support among grassroots Republicans will translate to support in the wider electorate – swinging voters and those who might stay home rather than vote; and (ii) what the Dems have planned in terms of election shenanigans. The latter can only be defeated if Trump’s turnout is so overwhelming so as to render cheating impossible due to the cheating forcing the vote to beyond 100% of the electorate or something similarly ridiculous. The Republicans shall also have to massively step up their scrutineering game compared to 2020.

I see no other Republican candidate having the force to overcome the Demonrat candidate combined with the Demonrat shenanigans.

Finally, it’s interesting to hear reports that the Trump indictment efforts are increasing support in demographics that identify with unjust enforcement. It would be amazing if that got him across the line.

There’s an interesting bit of information from Tony Shaffer towards the end of this interview. Tony, whose background was in military intelligence, was acting as the contact between the Pentagon and the White House in the early days of the Trump presidency. He became aware of the malfeasance in the FBI when they were cooking up the Russia-gate scandal and he wanted the Army to step in and investigate the FBI.

He was given approval for the Army to step in and investigate the FBI by the Army commanders, then given approval by the joint heads in the Pentagon, but they said they needed Presidential authority to act.

Tony sought a meeting with Trump to tell him what the FBI were up to and get his authorisation for the Army to conduct an investigation, but he couldn’t get a meeting with Trump. Trump’s chief of staff wouldn’t allow Tony to meet with Trump as that would confirm Trump’s suspicions.

Trump couldn’t drain the swamp when the swamp isolated him from anyone who would assist him with that aim.

“They’ve been out fighting the fire at Epenarra Station and, sadly, one of those volunteers in particular has had his vehicle stolen, so when he gets back he will be confronted with this, and it’s devastating,” he told ABC Alice Springs.
“They’ve been out there all day and stayed overnight, they’re dedicated volunteers and this is just a sad state of affairs.”
The fire in the Barkly has burnt nearly 450,000 hectares.

We are caught in a space with all kinds of possibilities. Knowing the bad political and social state of the world. And thinking it will change. George wonders if it is Foolish Optimism.

Neil mentions that a number of people come up to him in the street to agree with him. His reason for Optimism is because so many people have seen through the tyranny and we share a commonality.

    Says Neil:
The greatest threat to tyranny, to authoritarianism, … is the ability for all sorts of people, from all sorts of walks of life to come together to have conversations.

I like Neil’s optimism that we will prevail. But we can only do that if we get off and start now. We, the plebs, are in the majority. Here’s how to do it.

Victoria’s Indigenous ‘truth-telling’ commission is a warning of things to come and should should be examined by those who are fence-sitting on their Voice vote.

Victoria’s Indigenous truth-telling inquiry is calling on the state government to create an independent watchdog to tackle police complaints, a First Nations-controlled child protection system and to stop detaining children under the age of 16.

    Lockdowns were worse than useless

It was all for nothing. Really, for nothing. The miseries we inflicted on ourselves after March 2020 — the school closures, the ruined businesses, the debts, the authoritarianism — were caused by a moment of lightheaded panic.

How can I be so sure? Because, three-and-a-half years on, the results are in. And, let me warn you, they make dismal reading for anyone who went along with the lockdowns.

Pearson has not improved since this was written

    ——

Dropping bombs and stoking feuds: the other side of Noel Pearson
    August 18, 2014

This was published 9 years ago

    Paul Sheehan

    Updated
Shortly after 11 am last Friday, Noel Pearson, chairman of the Cape York Group and a nationally prominent Aboriginal leader, walked into the newsroom of The Sydney Morning Herald and approached a senior editor. He proceeded to berate the editor, loudly, obscenely. He took off his jacket and told the editor he would “beat you to a pulp”. He also mentioned throwing him off the balcony. He dropped the “c” bomb repeatedly.

All in the middle of a metropolitan newsroom.

This is the other side of Noel Pearson, the unelected, unaccountable bridge-burner who has left a trail of damage and division that offsets and undermines his efforts to break the cycle of social dysfunction in many indigenous communities.

Tony Abbott is having a shocking run with his inner sanctum. He’s been putting out fires lit by his Treasurer, his Attorney-General, his Minister for Employment, his Treasurer, again, and now his personally appointed special adviser on indigenous affairs.

Abbott’s appointment of Pearson now looks well-meaning but obtuse. If Pearson were to ever appear in court in a defamation action over being called a bully, the court would be presented with voluminous evidence of his foul temper and self-indulgent rages, some of which have been recorded on tape.

One of his tirades was recorded by a former federal minister. Even after Pearson was advised he was being taped he continued a long, expletive-laden soliloquy of abuse and invective. The current Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion, is also reported to have been subject to one of Pearson’s rages, repeatedly being told to “f— off”.

The trigger for Pearson’s rage on Friday was an old sore, a profile published in Good Weekend two years ago, on August 25, 2012, by Jane Cadzow. The profile was rigorously researched and crafted, a trademark of Cadzow’s work. She has won two Walkley Awards for feature writing and been a Walkley finalist four times.

Cadzow’s request for an interview with Pearson had been turned down. Yet on the morning her profile appeared he was on the phone delivering a long blast of outrage. He was aggrieved that it had been written while he was receiving treatment for cancer and that Cadzow did not go up to Cape York when researching the story.

But Cadzow was not going to Cape York without an interview with Pearson. She also felt his rage over the phone vindicated her portrayal of his anger, based on many sources.

“His call went on so long,” she told me, “and I had so little chance to get a word in, that I even made a cup of tea … It was ironic that while he was complaining about the story his behaviour fitted exactly with the pattern I had reported.”

Her profile began with this confronting scene: The meeting began cordially enough. A Queensland government delegation was in Cairns to confer with Noel Pearson, the most influential indigenous leader in the country. Pleasantries were exchanged as people took their places around the table, then the room fell silent while everyone waited respectfully for him to speak.

What followed, according to former parliamentarian Stephen Robertson, was “a tirade of expletives and abuse”, including, more than once, the phrase “f—ing white c—s”… starting very slowly, very deliberately, and speaking quite softly, then over the next 15 or 20 minutes reaching a crescendo”.

Among those present was state environment minister Kate Jones, whose female adviser was dismissed by Pearson as an “arse-wipe”. Robertson says his own chief-of-staff, an indigenous man, was called a “sell-out c—“. Another member of the group sums up the rest of the diatribe: “‘You f—ing white c—s’, scream, scream, scream. Full on, for half an hour. Nobody could get a word in.”

The story presented a troubling portrait of a charismatic bully who has extracted millions of dollars of funding for indigenous programs from governments and corporations, via persuasion or browbeating. The portrait of Pearson’s older brother, Gerhardt, was also troubling. The profile was balanced with the many positives for which Pearson is famous – his intellect, his lucidity and his commitment to practical improvements for Australia’s poorest communities.

I’ve interviewed Pearson, seen him speak, seen a room captivated by his eloquence, and written in his favour. But his positives are offset by his negatives, the feuds, the disdain, the costly demands on the public purse.

And his bullying is often premeditated. Cadzow interviewed many people including a former close associate of Pearson who became an adversary, Lyndon Schneiders of the Wilderness Society. He described how Noel and Gerhardt Pearson planned their intimidation: “They called it ‘bombing’. When they were going to go in and make their views forcefully known to government, they were going on a ‘bombing raid’. I watched them do it to advisers, to backbenchers, to ministers, to journos. It wasn’t pretty.”

Even the journalist who did more than any other to push the Pearson mythology, Tony Koch, came to regret his long silence about Pearson’s dark side. In a column for The Australian in April 2012, he wrote: “Instead of drawing people into his orbit, Pearson has succeeded in pushing almost everyone away.”

This does not augur well for his role as Abbott’s emissary. Pearson’s story forms just a fractional part of the tens of billions of dollars of government funding that has been funnelled into indigenous communities and programs with little impact on measurable improvement. The public’s exasperation and cynicism is rampant. It pays the bills.

Pearson’s most recent explosion, on Friday, is emblematic of a man who cannot control his anger or curb his ego. This does not serve his cause. It also damages the cause of the Prime Minister he is supposedly helping.
