We’re told that supply chain problems are caused by people being off work due to sickness (Covid-19), I wonder how much truth is in that. Could the problem also be lack of employees due to the sacking of the unvaxxed, how many refuseniks are there, or were there, in the workforce.

I also wonder if we’ll see some moderation of the government’s decrees due to their impact on all businesses. So far, the lockdowns and other associated nonsense have impacted small business owners but haven’t impacted big business. For example, my small local hardware shop has faced lockdown restrictions which larger businesses, e.g. Bunnings, didn’t face.

Larger businesses, and on-line businesses, have flourished whereas the small trader has suffered so the larger businesses have profited largely due to a lack of competition. The supply chain problems now though will cause big business some grief, if they can’t get product onto their shop floor, or can’t ship purchased items to their customers, they too may start complaining about the various government’s “health” policies.

The Yahoo story starts off suggesting Covid, then the coach mentions the vaccines:

SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Lee Burge has been ruled out for four to five weeks due to heart palpitations shortly after contracting Covid-19.

The club confirmed Burge had a positive case for the virus at the beginning of the month and subsequently served a period of self-isolation. But following a return to training, Burge felt unwell and a series of tests revealed a heart arrythmia.

Fellow keeper Anthony Patterson was recalled from his loan spell from Notts County for the month of January but will now stay with Sunderland for the rest of the season due to Burge’s heart problem.

Head coach Lee Johnson said: “He has still got an issue. He’s got effectively a slightly inflamed heart.

“It seems to happen a lot after these injections or potentially Covid, I’m not sure exactly what it is.

“At the same time, he’s going to be 4-5 weeks where he’s got to keep his heart rate below 100 and then has blood tests again to check that the heart is fully back to normal…

    Reminds me –

    Colin Hay – Freedom Calling
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT7NBUdqUUo
    “Freedom Calling”

If you hear a voice call out your name
Saying you can stop yourself from falling
And if he strikes you in his fear and shame
Well you can leave him to his ruin

If your dreams they wake you in the night
And your heart it is a pounding
If you cry out as you wake in your fright
And the wind it is a-howling

Maybe it’s time to find another place
Where nobody even knows your face
There is no need to be afraid
    For it’s only freedom calling

If your tears begin to overflow
As you walk against the undertow
There is no need to be afraid
    For it’s only freedom calling

If you’re sad ’cause you’re all alone
And your hands they are a shaking
And your miracle cure’s not working anymore
And the flood bank’s close to breaking

Suddenly you’re on an open unknown road
Passing all the heavy, long wide loads
It is time to make your great escape
And you can hear your freedom calling

I want to dive into the sea of love
But my knees they are a quaking
I can see myself high up above
And there’s no time left for faking

I no longer need to understand
What it is to truly be a man
Only when I gave up on my masterplan
Did I then hear freedom calling

Did I then hear freedom calling

Well I loved the Lone Ranger and I loved that Dennis Law
Him and George Best, sure knew how a kick a ball
I wanted to be a cowboy, and learn a crack a whip
Stand up in that lonely street, two six guns on my hip
Along the mighty Beatles came, and everyone went ahhh
They could play and sing and everything, and of course that John could draw
Well that was it for me, I never once looked back
Tricks to learn, waves to catch, had a plan of attack

    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?
Are you lookin’ at me, pal?

Then we headed south, where the surf came crashing in
From black and white to colour, from innocence to sin
It was summer in December, blowing heatwaves in my mind
People talking funny, some cruel and some were kind
From the crackle of the cane, to the frown of a big black snake
From the breakers at Bondi, down to Wallaga Lake
From the sound of a million fly screen doors, closing on the past
Like that chimney the fires couldn’t burn, I was built to last

    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?

Are you lookin’ at me, pal?

When I flew across the ocean, I was number one
People gave me everything, and I didn’t need a gun
Walking down that avenue, I never felt so alive
People calling out my name, and I’d only just arrived

It was a tight rope walking bagpiper, in the middle of Central Park
Steam was rising from the ground, and I wore my cape out after dark
I had myself a moment, my day out in the sun
It’s an unfinished story, but it’s more than just begun

And I know more than one thing, but not more than two or three
An I’ll tell you if you’ll listen, and I’ll tell you for free
It’s no life being a cowboy, and eating all them beans
The coffee’s cold, the herd is gone, and all you’ve got’s your dreams
You can always put your spurs back on, but save them for Halloween
You’re better off heading north, or somewhere you’ve never been

    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?
    Are you lookin’ at me?
I said, are you lookin’ at me, pal?

After I died, and the make up had dried, I went back to my place
No moon that night, but a heavenly light shone on my face
Still I thought it was odd, there was no sign of God just to usher me in
Then a voice from above, sugar coated with Love, said, “Let us begin”

You got to fill out a form first, and then you wait in the line

I said, “Hey, what you say? It’s a glorious day, by the way how long you been dead?”
Maybe you, maybe me, maybe baby makes three, but she just sher head
You got to fill out a form first, and then you wait in the line
You got to fill out a form first, and then you wait in the line
Buddah and Moses and all the noses from narrow to flat
Had to stand in the line, just to glimpse the divine, what you think about that?
Well it seems like our fate to suffer and wait for the knowledge we seek
It’s all his design, no one cuts in the line, no one here likes a sneak
You got to fill out a form first, and then you wait in the line
You got to fill out a form first, and then you wait in the line
After you climb, up the ladder of time, the Lord God is near
Face to face, in the vastness of space, your words disappear
And you feel like swimming in an ocean of love, and the current is strong
But all that remains when you try to explain is a fragment of song
Lord is it, Be Bop A Lu La or Ooh Poppa Do
Lord, Be Bop A Lu La or Ooh Poppa Do

‘Kanye West’s plan to bring his stadium tour to Australia is facing another roadblock, as questions Mount over whether the rapper can even obtain a visa to enter the country.
West, who has 22 Grammys to his name, is said to be planning to bring his Donda tour down under, in a move that could prove lucrative to the hard hit entertainment industry.
But the star’s outspoken anti-vaccination views, in addition to his unknown vaccination status, could mean his visa is denied under the same rules used to deport Novak Djokovic.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said recent events prove the rules apply to everyone.
“The rules are you have to be fully vaccinated,” he said on the Sunshine Coast.
“Those are the rules. They apply to everybody as people have seen most recently.
“It doesn’t matter who you are, they are the rules. Follow the rules, you can come. You don’t follow the rules you can’t.”
Djokovic was deported in dramatic circumstances on the eve of the Australian Open, after Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used his discretionary powers to deny him a visa.
Under Australia’s current border rules, a foreign citizen must be fully vaccinated or have a valid medical exemption to enter the country.
Last year, West confirmed he had only received one dose of the vaccine and he had to travel to Paris via Portugal to circumvent France’s tough vaccination rules.
“I travelled to Paris a couple of weeks ago, and I had to go through Lisbon because you can go through Lisbon without being vaccinated.”

But as we know with Hawke, it wasn’t about any threat to health. It was wrongthink by Djokovic. Fuck I hate the slugs in parliament.

    Some interesting fart facts:

Arguably the most successful comedic purveyor of fart jokes, however, was Roland le Sarcere, also known as Roland the Farter, court minstrel to King Henry II of England. Roland performed a dance that ended with the simultaneous execution of one jump, one whistle, and one fart. For his talents Roland was gifted a manor house in Suffolk and 100 acres of land. Roland was so beloved that subsequent chroniclers repeated his story and expanded his biography, a process that inadvertently extended his lifespan to 120 years.

Roland was not the only man to fart for money. In her book, Allen directs us to a medieval Japanese scroll that tells the story of a man named Fukutomi, who “performed fart dances for the aristocracy.” The story is the stuff of legend, but as Linda Rodriguez has written, there were professional farters at work in Japan by the 1700s. In Paris at the close of the nineteenth century, a baker’s son by the name of Joseph Pujol was able to host his own 90-minute show at the Moulin Rouge featuring renditions of “Au Clair de Lune.” Apparently Sigmund Freud visited the show before going on to develop his theory of “anal fixation.”

    PROVERBS FOR MODERN TIMES
There are three things that feminists hate, yea, even four things they despise: a contented wife, a strong husband, happy children, and a household full of love.
Progressives look at Reason and say “who are you?” and to Common Sense they are a stranger.
Marxism is the opiate of the elite.
Socialists boast of their their righteousness, but their desire is only power.
Progressives demand three things: your approval, your money, and your children.
Libertarianism is a bridge that is only half-built.
Progressives hate normal life, and a city that is not in upheaval they abhor.
The mainstream media are dogs; either attack dogs or lap dogs.
Feminist women think the worst of men because feminist men are the worst of men. (h/t Grump928(C))
The Democrats’ demand to let justice prevail actually means let just us prevail.
The Progressive has two daughters: Submit, and Shut Up.
The elite sneer at truck drivers who deliver their food.
Progressives hold a street protest to proclaim their virtue, but others must clean up their mess.
The more loudly the media insists that something is true, the more likely it is to be false.
What is advocated by liberals today will be defended by conservatives tomorrow.
Progressives want to remake the world on someone else’s dime.
