From the past week there have been some extra bugs in the blog system. I have been trying to trace and debug them. I was able to clear out the problem with the comment box but there are some others still there. I have gone through the code and tested but can’t find the source of the problem. One of these is the sidebar list of Recent comments that has extra spaces between each line. These spaces should not be there and many of you will have noticed this change. There was a Plugin update last week and I think that has caused it bug. There is nothing wrong in our settings codes so it would have to be from WordPress.

I also tried to see why some commenters who have been approved in the past have their comments ending up in moderation but can’t work it out.

Sorry about the bugs. This is an old system using an old theme. I will continue to try to fix or find a solution.

If anyone can suggest what is causing these bugs, I will look into that.

shatterzzz, I thought there may have been some connection to the Greenwich incident. I would agree with Pauline that One Nation shouldn’t be paying the bills. But why did it reach a stage where he is ousted from his role as leader?

Latham made a big mistake in the way he responded to the tweet. When you reach a certain level of public recognition, some restraint before posting instant messages is a necessary trait. The excuse of “but he said” is no justification.

He could have ignored that post and then used it for his own gain, for years to come. Every time Greenwich said something that he wanted to get back at he could have reminded everyone in Parliament and elsewhere that Greenwich had called him “a disgusting human being” and why. He could then show how he was taking the high road and being a supporter of free speech, he (Latham) was not suing Greenwich.

Instead he has put himself on the back foot and is the one facing legal action. There are many ways to speak the truth, make one’s point and get support for it. Stooping into the gutter is not the way, especially when you are in a role of the leader.

Made another attempt this morning and spent 30 minutes on hold (whilst I read my Ipad) to get a human male who asked for identification numbers that I did not understand. Gave him the debit card number and then the number I usually type to log in. I was then informed that this number does not match my name. No, I said, it is a joint account. Demanded to know my personal number (we both use the same log in). This is apparently a big no-no.
Told him the full names of the account holders – no this does not match. My mobile number is not on their records since the account was opened long before I had a mobile phone.
Handed the phone to OH but bank had hung up.
