WA, alternately known as Birmingham due to the preponderance of relocated Poms whinging about the sun.  A pocket of suburbia surrounded by desert.  A backward, feudal state populated by backward insular gimme merchants and real estate salesmen.

The entire State could be conquered by Tennant Creek in five working days.  Thanks your lucky stars the rest of the country hasn’t decided to concrete over the lot of it, and then rent it to Madagascar.

Most West Aussies are ignorant and living in a bubble and would happily accept another lockdown.

We are trapped in a prison and you are happy with it.

We are not ignorant. I feel great sympathy for those suffering the outrageous loss of their natural liberties in places like Sydney and Melbourne due to frequent and brutally enforced lockdowns.  The videos of Victoria police violence against protesters and government enforced vaccinations, aided and abetted by mainstream propaganda media, were shocking.  It turned out that freedom in this country was just an illusion.

Nevertheless, WA has had less than 3 weeks of lockdowns since June 2020 and life has been very good here.  We have had essentially no deaths due to Wuhan flu and one or two deaths due to vaccine reactions.

It seems all the criticism against WA border closure I read on this forum is based on political ideology.   Destroying something good in the name of ideology is what I expect from the Marxists.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

While at the gym this afternoon I saw something on ABC Afternoon (?) that was amazing:

Well known Marxist ideologue Tim Soutphommasane was being interviewed and he was arguing forcefully against the “militarised COVID response” by Australian governments and expressed his concern for the permanent loss of our personal freedoms.  Of course, he was most concerned about the effects on Third-world immigrants in Australia, but I have to say he was quite effective.

I have since tried to locate the interview on the ABC website without success. Did I dream the whole thing? I don’t think so.  I did find this article he wrote some weeks ago: Government responses to COVID-19 are undermining our democratic commitments — why have progressives remained silent?

Rosie, you were not paying attention in March and April. Both Fauci and Wallenksy of the CDC pushed the idea that the vaccines were nearly 100% protective about acquiring and passing on the virus. In Faucis words, the vaccine makes the body a dead end for the virus. By May- June it was clear that was not the case. So the narrative changed from , you won’t get coronavirus to you are protected from serious disease. And the people lapped it up. The vaccine is clearly not working anywhere near as well as advertised.

Swedish climate activist, Greta Thunberg, has ridiculed world leaders at the Youth4Climate conference in Milan, saying that “hopes and dreams are drowned in their empty words and promises’’.

The 18-year-old mocked several phrases used by British prime minister Boris Johnson and French president Emmanuel Macron and the commonly-promoted hopes of politicians to strive for net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
“Leaders have had 30 years of ‘blah blah blah’ and where has that led us? Over 50 per cent of all our CO2 emissions have occurred since 1990, and a third since 2005,” she said.
“All this while the media is reporting on what the leaders say they are going to do, instead of what they are actually doing. And then not holding leaders accountable for their action, or rather inaction.”
Ms Thunberg was a guest speaker at the youth climate congress, a forerunner to the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow at the end of October, and in her speech expressed frustration at decades of environmental inaction.
“There is no Planet B, there is no planet blah – blah, blah, blah; blah, blah, blah. This is not about some expensive politically correct green act, bunny hugging, or blah blah blah. Build back better, blah blah blah; green economy, blah blah blah; Net Zero by 2050, blah blah blah. Net Zero, blah blah blah. Climate neutral, blah blah blah.
“This is all we hear from our so-called leaders: words, words that sound great but so far has led to no action – our hopes and dreams drowned in their empty words and promises.”
She warned that the world was speeding in the wrong direction, with 2021 projected to have the second highest emission rise.
“Only about two per cent of government recovery spendings have been allocated to clean energy measures, and according to a new report by the UN, global emissions are expected to rise by 16 per cent by 2030 compared to 2010 levels,” she said.
“Our leaders’ intentional lack of action is a betrayal towards all present and future generations. The people in power cannot claim that they are trying because they are clearly not. If this is what they consider to be climate action, then we don’t want it.”
Ms Thunberg said it would take “drastic annual emission cuts unlike anything the world has ever seen”, demanding immediate action.

Perhaps the neurotic obsessives have simply run out of pitiful “war stories” after 18 months of fabulous inventiveness.

    It is indeed, Joe.

The guys doing the rammed earth walls have had excellent weather for working and have completed all side and internal walls. Just twin high gables at the front to go.

Now Best Man, Son in Law and his apprentice can start the carpentry bit. We bought all the timber needed before the big price hikes, thanks to a clever Cat who posted a warning of impending shortages on Sinc’s Cat.

250 trees now planted and thriving, with more ready to go. Once the rammers have finished we* can plant the garden areas close to the house.

The boys are also building a chook house for 12 very spoiled chickens. This opens into a huge, fenced vegetable garden which is now ready for planting.

*My part of ‘we’ is minimal, unfortunately, limited to constructive criticism, excellent advice and home made burgers, pies and pastries. Everyone seems happy with that.

(Recently my brother, who is alone and growing very frail, accepted our invitation to come and live Casa Delta. That makes four oldies now in three self-contained apartments, plus Daughter and SiL, their four children and the apprentice. We shall be such a merry party.) 🙂

The behaviour of 2 HR executives are now being investigated by a people and ethical conduct panel, with potential disciplinary action or termination and outcome.

‘Mr Setka welcomed the compliance blitz announced by government on Monday.

He said vaccination rates in the construction sector needed to improve, urging workers to “listen to experts” and not people on the internet.

“I find it insulting from some people that want to put all sorts of drugs in their body, do lines of whatever, smoke ice pipes, smoke 19,000 packets of cigarettes and then say they don’t want to be vaccinated,” Mr Setka said.

“I find it absolutely ridiculous, to be quite honest.’

How’s the vax working out for you, John?
Oh, it seems John Setka is unavailable for comment.

Leak ‘toon is based on the Ron DeSantis story that I requested (unsuccessfully) Top Ender to post after he treated us to an article from Swedish superbrat Greta.

John Setka has the COVID apparently.

No, he hasn’t – but he is a close contact of others in the CFMEU office who have tested positive since last week’s protests – so he is now in isolation.

Grigs, this is the Age headline:

CFMEU president tests positive, Setka in isolation as COVID hits union office

I did read that as Setka is positive as I thought he was President.

    Fair go, you’re right.
