    Great democracy we have:

‘Veteran Liberal MP Russell Broadbent risks being locked out of his office after he said he is not vaccinated and publicly raised concerns about the mass immunisation of Australians against COVID and the imposition of mandates or vaccine passports.

The member for Monash, in eastern Victoria, has told his local newspaper he isn’t vaccinated and doesn’t intend to be with the jabs currently available – a stance that could see him unable to do his job after Premier Daniel Andrews mandated vaccines for all authorised workers in the state including federal politicians.’

Victoria, the place to be. The Hun:

‘Victorians are being urged to start early and look local for Christmas presents this year as a “perfect storm” of freight delays, wharf disputes, and price rises threatens festive supplies.

The supply of international goods has been rocked by a lack of ships and an almost four-fold increase in container cost since last year, caused by global pandemic chaos gripping major ports.

Industry groups say it is a matter of time until costs are passed through to consumers, with hardware and timber among products tipped to rise in price or be missing from shelves.

A lack of truck drivers due to covid-19 vaccine mandates will add to the Christmas crunch. Victorian Transport Association chief Peter Anderson said the requirement had led to 10% of the workforce being unavailable for interstate deliveries….

Port of Melbourne stevedore Patrick has forecast delays of at least a week by mid-october because of 40 industrial actions planned by the Maritime Union at East Swanson dock, due to a pay dispute.’

    Justin Smith in today’s Hun:

‘Just before I say something antagonising like “Tony Abbott should be sacked from the board of the Australian War Memorial”, let me first make a declaration: personally I like Tony Abbott.

I’ve been in his company a few times, and he even invited me for Christmas drinks at Kirribilli back when he had the keys to the place. Our politics are very different but I get bored being around agreeable people, so I think the presence of Tony Abbott in public life still has merit.

Having got that out of the way, let me now say I think Tony Abbott should be sacked from the board of the Australian War Memorial.

This week, Tony appeared on a podcast hosted by a conservative think tank (and I use the word “think” and it’s broadest possible definition) where he defended the yard zoo trash The Shrine of Remembrance a couple of weeks ago.

We remember them all too well. They were the ones lighting flares, chucking things at police, breaking glass, drinking grog, and urinating on the walls of one of Australia’s most beautiful and important monuments.

Tony started by saying people shouldn’t break the law..but… it was after the but that things went bad.

It’s worth pointing out Tony had just been slapped with a $500 fine in Sydney for failing to wear a mask in public, so his attitude towards the law may have been a little rattled.

He described The Shrine crowd as being simply there to make a point. He said “they weren’t being violent, they weren’t being vandalistic, they weren’t being destructive.”

Wrong, wrong and wrong, Tony. They were being all those things. And any point they were trying to make got lost when they climbed on the sacred building to use it for play equipment.

In essence, these people are angry because God made them stupid and they like the idea of rioting and assaulting cops. So this was their big chance.

No doubt there were people in the crowd with legitimate fears and grievances against the government, but let’s not make them out to be Freedom Fighters who would make our diggers proud of. They certainly are not.

And for Tony Abbott to defend them is both ignorant and dangerous.’

Smith goes on about Abbott calling police storm troopers ra ra. He tries having it both ways twice. First Abbott said the police were heavy handed, which Smith agreed but it was because they had “a heavy few days.” And Smith says he’s not saying Abbott doesn’t care about our war history, but then  doubts his judgement.

Now I didn’t see anything like urination. Perhaps it’s in his mind? Other Cats may have seen something like that? But to me, a bit of Abbott Derangement Syndrome.

Mystery rise in heart attacks from blocked arteries
Health experts have been left baffled by a big rise in a common and potentially fatal type of heart attack in the west of Scotland.
During the summer there was a 25 per cent rise in the number of people rushed to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank with partially blocked arteries cutting blood supply to the heart.
Typically the centre, which is the largest of its kind in the UK and treats people from five health board areas, receives 240 patients a month suffering with this form of heart attack, but this rose to more than 300 over May, June and July of this year. Doctors have searched for a pattern among patients to determine if less access to health checks in the pandemic or a history of Covid-19 infection may explain it but have found no obvious trend.

This is completely in line with what happened during her silver and gold jubilees.

However, where things start to get iffy is when we get to the fact that, also on the recipient list, are all the members of the royal family.

Howard could have closed down the abc but didn’t; he could have stopped turdball but he encouraged him; he disarmed Australia; he joined the paris accord; he signed off on the single worst economic deal (until turdball’s NBN and the subs) when he sold the NW gas to the chunks in a contract with NO fucking inflation clause which means they are getting the gas so cheap they can sell it back to us for a great profit. He also signed off on an agreement with the liars to not even talk about nuclear power. He’s a fucktard.
