Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate❤️11:53 AM · Mar 4, 2022

South Australian police no longer need to be fully vaccinated to work in the sector after the state’s top cop backflipped on his own law.
Back in November last year, a direction was issued under the Emergency Management Act making it compulsory for all SA Police employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Only a small portion of the force — less than 1.5 per cent or about 80 staff members — did not receive the jabs and weren’t allowed to engage in any police work or attend workplace settings.

Although the majority of police received their two doses, Police Commissioner Grant Stevens announced on Friday that the rule would be revoked as of 7am on Monday and be replaced by a managerial direction.

The commissioner — who is also the state co-ordinator who writes such directions — said he was “confident” the risks to his employees and members of the public could be managed through alternative controls rather than standing down his unvaccinated staff.

A huge shock. Warnie was pure entertainment, & despite his air-headedness off the field, a deep & insightful thinker of cricket on the field or as commentator.

Shane Warne was only 52. While he mightn’t have led the healthiest of lifestyles, I’m surprised that he has succumbed to heart disease. I can’t help thinking that vaccine injury might underlie this, but even if he gets an autopsy, they’re unlikely to test for markers of the vaccines or spike proteins to prove or disprove this.

    Hello friends,

Apologies to the non-Queenslanders, but the main point of this weekend’s email is to alert you to a protest against the Palszczuk Labor government’s impending extension of the pandemic powers.

As mentioned in the last newsletter, if the Queensland parliament does not move to extend the pandemic powers then all of the so-called health directives come to an end and that includes workplace vaccine mandates. That’s exactly why, later this month, the parliament is going to vote on a proposed law to extend the pandemic powers.

To protest this move, Queenslanders from Cape York down will be forming the Convoy to Brisbane and descending on George Street, Brisbane for the three days of parliamentary sittings from 15 to 17 March. Details can be found on the Facebook event listing of the Convoy to Brisbane — Parliament House (https://fb.me/e/4FlRIi0C4).

Director of Victoria Heart, Dr Andris Ellims, a Victorian trained cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, said it was about managing various risk factors – only some of which are avoidable.

Four of the biggest modifiable risks are high cholesterol (particularly low-density lipoprotein or “bad cholesterol”, as it more commonly known), high blood pressure, smoking and diabetes. But when it comes to the other three risk factors – age, gender and genetics – there is little we can do.…

    Ted’ TV review
    The New Breed

Well, how did it go for the new breed of entrepreneurs? 2 trendy millennial chaps wanted to save the oceans by recycling old fishing nets into skateboards. But the Asians wouldn’t give them the nets, they had to buy them. And then ship them to China for processing, then on to America. It was getting expensive. Nobody else wanted to save the planet as much as they did. But wait, the skateboards needed wheels and bearings and these had to be bought! Then they couldn’t sell the skateboards because they were just black and people actually buy colourful ones. So if anybody wants a warehouse full of ugly, save the planet skateboards…

Lady millennial wants to save the planet by selling socks with social justice messages but nobody in America (in her social circle) was willing to work for free so she had to outsource production to China and as it was a small order it wasn’t cheap but they arrived and she tried to sell them at a trade fair but it seems save the planet, expensive, ugly socks aren’t particularly popular so she sold only one pair to a smug millenial. So if anybody wants to buy a bedroom full of ugly, save the planet socks…

I can’t for the life of me remember what the third product was other than more of the same. I’d tuned out by then. There were several more segments of people doing their bit, indoctrination in schools of how capitalism has failed, shrieking POC lady about the injustice of it all and one particularly satsifying segment where a super-millennial chap spoke to a room of 5 about how millennials were an unhappy and lazy generation, poverty-stricken and unemployable and loaded with college debt and no way to repay. He had a designer haircut, jeans, T shirt and fancy smart phone. And a useless degree. And it was all Margaret Thatcher’ and Ronald Reagan’ fault. It would be funny if it wasn’t so expensive for the rest of us.

Thank heavens for TV recorders so you can skip quickly through it.

For thousands of years humans believed that authority came from the gods. Then, during the modern era, humanism gradually shifted authority from deities to people. Jean-Jacques Rousseau summed up this revolution in Emile, his 1762 treatise on education. When looking for the rules of conduct in life, Rousseau found them “in the depths of my heart, traced by nature in characters which nothing can efface. I need only consult myself with regard to what I wish to do; what I feel to be good is good, what I feel to be bad is bad.” Humanist thinkers such as Rousseau convinced us that our own feelings and desires were the ultimate source of meaning, and that our free will was, therefore, the highest authority of all.

Now, a fresh shift is taking place. Just as divine authority was legitimised by religious mythologies, and human authority was legitimised by humanist ideologies, so high-tech gurus and Silicon Valley prophets are creating a new universal narrative that legitimises the authority of algorithms and Big Data. This novel creed may be called “Dataism”. In its extreme form, proponents of the Dataist worldview perceive the entire universe as a flow of data, see organisms as little more than biochemical algorithms and believe that humanity’s cosmic vocation is to create an all-encompassing data-processing system — and then merge into it.

    Ripe for manipulation by Sociopaths.

Silicon Valley nerds hijacked by Sociopaths?

    Natch.
