I did not realise how devious is the intent of the Albanese government in pushing through this Mis-Dis Info bill until I did some research on it. Are they are bowing to their globalist masters in the US – masters who have not been elected by the Australian citizens? If they win on this bill, we will lose our freedoms in a very big way. Small blogs like this one will not be able to survive because of the legal costs. We won’t be able to freely post our opinions or even news that does not comply with “the truth”.

Big Brother (via ACMA) will be watching every word we speak or write.

I was busy with some project yesterday, but when I saw the deadline of this bill as 30 September 2024 – just a few days away – I stopped my other work and wrote out the post with as much information as I could find. I knew about this bill and I had posted about it in the past week, but I realised how it will affect us after reading details about it on twitter and other sites. I did not want to delay it because this info needs to get to as many Australians as possible so that they can respond with submissions, even though there aren’t many days. I tried to make it as easy as possible by putting all the info in one place. Anyone who wants to make a submission won’t need to scramble around to get details, but can find all the links they need and quickly send it.

I am back here 24 hours later. And I am wondering:
Are there any readers here who after seeing my Post on this bill have:
    – Sent their submission to the Senate or have written a draft which they will be sending in the next day or two?
    – Urged family, relatives, friends, others to also make a submission?

I do not want to get too involved with what is happening in Lebanon because it is too much to take in. It is similar to Gaza:
the same perpetrator, the same lies, the same justification, the same allies providing the bombs, the same murder of innocent civilians, the same destruction of property and the same MSM reporting it.

The Hezbollah Pager Explosions Are More Dangerous Than You Think

As impressive as the latest attacks were on a technical level, they should raise numerous objections. For one, they devastated civilians. The pagers belonged to Hezbollah members, but the explosions—which killed at least 40 people and injured more than 3,000 others—put many noncombatants at risk. Think of what would have happened to passengers in a car or children at the dining table if the driver or a relative was carrying one of the devices. Video footage has shown that some exploded in markets and street corners.

Can you believe Australia calculates inflation this way?

    AFR:

Inflation fell to a three-year low last month as millions of households received $75 electricity bill rebates from the federal government, but prices for other goods and services continued to increase quickly, making interest rate cuts unlikely until early 2025.

So if the Fed government gave grocery vouchers to Aussies, our bean counters would see this as a fall in grocery prices?

This Mis-Dis-Info bill started off during the reign of Morrison. I had reviewed that document and posted the summary of points – on Sinc’s blog – but no one cared to respond. Plenty of commenters talking about everything else, but this got ignored.

Here we are in September 2024. Now I have gone much further and provided all the info needed. All that is required is to open your email account, pick out a few sentences from the tips provided, add in the email address and subject line and send it off. Can be done in a few minutes.

Or the FSUA tool can be used. Again a few minutes.

In the last century, young men went to war and gave their lives to defend our freedoms. Today, we can’t spare a few minutes to ensure that we continue with these freedoms. It doesn’t seem to matter to anyone to make that submission. No one had the time or cared enough to respond to my post with their opinions and comments about freedom and the attempts by the government in trying to restrict our free speech.

If this topic does not directly affect you, what does?
If loss of freedom and free speech does not matter to you, what does?
If you are so busy that you can’t find the time to send the submission while we still have the freedom to do so…..???

Should I have bothered to stop my work yesterday and put that post together for the information of other readers? Maybe no one cares. Is it apathy? Let others rant and rave about what is going wrong. Someone else can spend their time and effort in research and posting comments.

We have a blog here – all costs paid by Adam, the blog owner. We are not required to pay $$$, asked to Donate or have Ads flashing across to pay the blog bills. We have Free Speech here that counters the MSM narrative. We don’t have personal abuse, sniping or useless chatter.

Yet, it seems that many do not want to use this vital gift of freedom. Readers prefer to lurk, watch, criticise the content of this blog, but they will not join in with their preferred topics. We have the opportunity to keep a track on those who seek to destroy our democratic way of life – whether they are in the country elected to do the will of the people, or the unelected globalists.

I have urged, encouraged, ranted and nagged readers on this blog (the serious ones) to join in and take part. To participate and contribute to the discussions and news. In the past, there were some who said that they would like to take part but didn’t know what to say or post. I have provided personal experiences and suggestions about what to do and how to join in, if you want to do so. Yet, there is a silence.

I have just checked the first thread on this blog, from over three years ago, and can see that mh and I joined this site on the weekend it was set up. We have stayed here since then – unaffected by those who left for other pastures – and have been regular posters. I have agreed with mh on some issues, differed on others, expressed my disagreement at times, scrolled past some of his comments, as well. And I am sure that mh has also done the same – agreed or disagreed with some of my comments or even ignored a number of them. But we have continued here because we have valued having a free speech site. We come in and post whether anyone responds to our comments or not, whether anyone disagrees with our opinions or not, whether we are the only commenters on the blog, or whether there are others on it.

I post long comments and I rant because we are facing a war against the WEFfing globalists and their acolytes. I want to be part of the global group of battlers who are trying to win the fight against them. This blog provides a platform for that. Is there any point in a few of us spending time on this blog trying to fight? Is it just one or two or three of us who realise that we don’t get the truth from the MSM and hence value a free speech blog? And want to use it?

It is possible to have all kinds of ideas and suggestions to make a blog interesting and meaningful, but it needs intelligent readers to respond. To express an interest. To put up their hands to join in. To participate. To speak up and share something. To support those who are doing their best to keep the blog running.

If the Albanese government can push its way through with this Mis-Dis Info bill, we can say goodbye to freely expressing our opinions, or even just sharing info based on what ACMA or the government’s “Ministry of Truth” decides is acceptable and what is not.

We won’t have a Free Speech blog. Just the government-approved propaganda sites.

Beirut attack ‘massive’: 6 residential buildings levelled to the ground

    Reporting from Beirut, Lebanon

We arrived at the scene of what really was an unprecedented attack. There’s a lot of tension on the ground.

This attack was massive. I have covered a lot of the aftermath of Israeli air strikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, but nothing like this. The smoke is still billowing. The area of devastation is so large and wide. We’re talking about at least six to seven residential buildings levelled to the ground.

There is a security perimeter around the site of this attack. One of the men standing here, a member of Hezbollah, said, “I saw dead children being put in an ambulance and taken away. What have they done to deserve this?”

The problem is illegal immigrants and a border crisis which is legitimate. The debate should have been about policies and the failures of the Biden admin. But to target a section of people based on unconfirmed rumours (which turned out to be lies), is wrong. I don’t know the details of the immigration issue in the US, but we could have similar problems in Australia if those in positions of authority don’t behave as leaders should.

That’s because I have seen commentators in this sphere indulging in revenge fantasies and predictions Israel’s imminent demise since October 7, talking up how unstoppable the Axis of Resistance supposedly is.

Do they let her have the win as some sort of gesture of even-handedness? Her video made me think of a sort of modern-day Middle Eastern version of movies about the Blitz, which had us on the side of the targets of the bombing. Now, we are relentlessly propagandised to believe the bomb-dropping “Germans” are fighting a “just war”. Trump’s favourite son says the US must support the “peace-seeking nation of Israel”

    Jared Kushner
    @jaredkushner

September 27th is the most important day in the Middle East since the Abraham Accords breakthrough.

I have spent countless hours studying Hezbollah and there is not an expert on earth who thought that what Israel has done to decapitate and degrade them was possible.

This is significant because Iran is now fully exposed. The reason why their nuclear facilities have not been destroyed, despite weak air defense systems, is because Hezbollah has been a loaded gun pointed at Israel. Iran spent the last forty years building this capability as its deterrent.

President Trump would often say, “Iran has never won a war but never lost a negotiation.” The Islamic Republic’s regime is much tougher when risking Hamas, Hezbollah, Syrian and Houthi lives than when risking their own. Their foolish efforts to assassinate President Trump and hack his campaign reek of desperation and are hardening a large coalition against them.

Iranian leadership is stuck in the old Middle East, while their neighbors in the GCC are sprinting toward the future by investing in their populations and infrastructure. They are becoming dynamic magnets for talent and investment while Iran falls further behind. As the Iranian proxies and threats dissipate, regional security and prosperity will rise for Christians, Muslims and Jews alike.

Israel now finds itself with the threat from Gaza mostly neutralized and the opportunity to neutralize Hezbollah in the north. It’s unfortunate how we got here but maybe there can be a silver lining in the end.

Anyone who has been calling for a ceasefire in the North is wrong. There is no going back for Israel. They cannot afford now to not finish the job and completely dismantle the arsenal that has been aimed at them. They will never get another chance.

After the brilliant, rapid-fire tactical successes of the pagers, radios, and targeting of leadership, Hezbollah’s massive weapon cache is unguarded and unmanned. Most of Hezbollah fighters are hiding in their tunnels. Anyone still around was not important enough to carry a pager or be invited to a leadership meeting. Iran is reeling, as well, insecure and unsure how deeply its own intelligence has been penetrated. Failing to take full advantage of this opportunity to neutralize the threat is irresponsible.

I have been hearing some amazing stories about how Israel has been collecting intelligence over the past 10 months with some brilliant technology and crowdsourcing initiatives.

But today, with the confirmed killing of Nasrallah and at least 16 top commanders eliminated in just nine days, was the first day I started thinking about a Middle East without Iran’s fully loaded arsenal aimed at Israel. So many more positive outcomes are possible.

This is a moment to stand behind the peace-seeking nation of Israel and the large portion of the Lebanese who have been plagued by Hezbollah and who want to return to the times when their country was thriving, and Beirut a cosmopolitan city. The main issue between Lebanon and Israel is Iran; otherwise there is a lot of benefit for the people of both countries from working together.

The right move now for America would be to tell Israel to finish the job. It’s long overdue. And it’s not only Israel’s fight.

More than 40 years ago, Hezbollah killed 241 US military personnel, including 220 Marines. That remains the single deadliest day for the U.S. Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima. Later that same day, Hezbollah killed 58 French paratroopers.

And now, over the past six weeks or so, Israel has eliminated as many terrorists on the US list of wanted terrorists as the US has done in the last 20 years. Including Ibrahim Aqil, the leader of Hezbollah’s Islamic Jihad Organization who masterminded the 1983 killing of those Marines.

Coalition senator warns against arresting protesters who flew Hezbollah flags
    By Lachlan Abbott

Nationals senator Matt Canavan has cautioned against jailing people for displaying Hezbollah symbols at pro-Palestine protests on Sunday, a sharp contrast to Coalition leader Peter Dutton saying he thought it was “completely unacceptable that the government wouldn’t be arresting people already”.

Appearing on the ABC’s Afternoon Briefing program shortly before 5pm, Canavan was asked what he thought should happen if someone showed public support or sympathy for Hezbollah at yesterday’s rallies.

    In response, he said:

Well, look, I’m happy for the police to look at this and see whether any laws are broken. But, look, I’m a little bit reticent to start jailing people – arresting people – for just displaying a sign.

Obviously there’s certainly symbols – like swastikas – that we ban, but where do you end here?

I do support people expressing their views as long as it’s peacefully. And really, the test about whether you defend the right of someone’s free speech is to defend those rights of the people you disagree with, right? I certainly don’t agree with these protesters. I especially don’t agree with any kind of elevation of a listed terrorist organisation.

But what would clamping down actually signify or deliver? I think it would make the situation worse. The best thing is to ostracise these people, to isolate them as extremists and radicals.

And especically for members of parliament, not to associate with them. We see the Greens political party run shoulder-to-shoulder sometimes with these extreme groups. They should condemn them and set them apart from the broad brush of Australian society that find these views objectionable.

Appearing on the same program, Labor MP Josh Wilson echoed Canavan’s comments …
