I support long term goals that the MAGA movement thought were Trump goals but on which Trump went to water. ie stricter immigration, border protection.

Even after getting shot, Trump had no momentum, and the RNC was a total flop. Trump hired his old campaign manager from 2016 as the base had tuned out. Trump needs to get pressured continuously by the AFers to give some commitments to their agenda otherwise they don’t give Trump their vote.

The last week Trump has done well in waking people up to certain issues. It’s that movement I like – where Americans become aware of policies such as race replacement. Replaced by voodoo practicing Haitians with an IQ of 67!

Does Trump move things forward or back? If he subsumes the AF ideas from 2016 then spits them out when becoming Prez then obviously it’s of no use.

At the moment he is flying around America with Laura Loomer. He’s trying to get the feel of those that are withholding their support, problem is Loomer is a crazed Jewish Zionist but has an image of being ‘based’.

    1/
All these long, detailed comments – which include putting together what I have read, learnt and analysed – are for the benefit of rational readers. For those who think critically and are truth-seekers.

The election debate (10 September). Immigration is a major issue. Instead of going in prepared with the facts: what is happening at the border, the numbers coming in, the illegals and the problems caused, Trump reacted to the bait and pulled out something unverified “They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,…..”

After the debate, the Democrat side started trolling with memes and videos about cats and dogs. Fine.
The Maga side could have had their memes about Kamala at the debate. Fine.

But after the first 1-2 days, the focus should have returned to the big issues of the election: economy, inflation, real immigration problems, border and so on. Instead, Maga have rushed in to protect their god with memes and viral videos – because it is not about facts, but whatever he says has to be accepted as fact – without any care for the consequences to anyone else.

Haitians in Ohio find solidarity at church after chaotic week
    of false pet-eating claims

For many Haitian immigrants, Sunday mornings in Springfield, Ohio, are spent joyfully worshipping God as they sing and pray in their native Creole. This Sunday, they needed that uplifting balm more than ever.

Their community is reeling — confused, frustrated, hurt — from false accusations that they are eating their neighbor’s cats and dogs. The now viral and highly politicized rumors are being fueled by former President Donald Trump, his running mate JD Vance and others, and violent threats against the community are upending daily life in their city.
    ……

….“Pray and think what it is to be a Haitian parent sending their child this week to school.”

One of those parents is Mia Perez, 35 an immigration lawyer whose 9-year-old daughter had to evacuate her school twice because of bomb threats to a nearby DMV this week.

“Kids in school are being asked by other kids: ’How does the dog taste? How does the cat taste?” Perez said, describing her daughter’s distress.

“She’s asking, ‘Are we the kind of Haitians who eat this kind of stuff? Is it true? What’s happening?’”
    ……….

On Sunday, Perez attended a service at Saint Raphael’s Catholic church….many from their community stayed away out of fears for their safety, “This is emotional,” she said. “They made a statement of not being here. Catholic Haitian people have such strong faith — not even hurricanes can keep them away, but look at this here today.”

US Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) expanding reach to retail outlets

BARDA is creating a parallel unregulated, Congressionally unaccountable, liability free “pharmaceutical industry” and is capturing eager and willing parties into this cartel, including retail outlets that are consumer-facing (pharmacies, mobile clinics, urgent care facilities).

Walgreens tend to be in more poor black/ethnic neighborhoods with low income and education levels… A $500 store card might get enough interest from women to get jabbed with “undisclosed vaccine” for experimental purposes. Is it to sterilize these women, just like they do in Africa and India in those Bill Gates “humanitarian” clinics?

Another worrying trend is that BARDA is capturing healthcare locations where people who now thoroughly mistrust healthcare would go in case of emergency – urgent care facilities and pharmacies. Due to BARDA contracts they are now under direction and control of the US HHS and DOD directly. In case of the “next pandemic” they would not be free to fill orders for medicine that you/your doctor thinks you should get, and will be directed to push countermeasures instead.

    Serious question

I came across Andrea’s account a couple of months ago and have been checking her regularly.

I am not hooked on to the internet all the time. I listen to the radio off-and-on and hear the MSM news. When I get round to the internet, I check the news and if possible, verify the bits I heard on the radio news and talkback.

Once of the best sources of news at this stage is twitter. But herein lies the trap. Twitter sets algorithms to display the posts from accounts it wants to amplify. And it shadow bans the accounts of “conspiracy theorists” and truth speakers. I don’t bother to follow the big name accounts or what twitter recommends. I have a different method.

In my browser bookmarks, I have created a “Twitter” folder. I have saved here the accounts of posters I have found to be worth reading. It has been a trial-and-error process and is a bit tedious. If I have come across a poster who posts tweets that fall into the categories of well-researched, intelligent, give me food for thought or help me learn something, I save that account. If the poster turns out to be a fake or a waste of time, I delete that. If I find new good ones, I add them. It is not about agreeing with everything from those posters – but their overall content.

I don’t keep checking for the latest tweets being dropped in 24/7. When I have the time, I check these accounts and pick up the news and info there. And, of course, I share as much as possible here. I’ve found this system works well because I can quickly read through what’s there and gain from it without losing too much time. I also don’t let myself get caught up in the useless trolling and unpleasant exchanges that take place.

We don’t have a follower, donor or subscriber system on this blog. But, like Andrea, I will say the same. If you don’t like what I post, feel free to scroll past. I don’t post my opinions and analysis to be popular or liked.

I care about what is happening in the world and passing on the truth so that those who want to learn and are similar truth-seekers can gain from my reading and research. The same as I gain from those who are also reading, researching and posting here. Many previous commenters on this blog decided this was not the comfortable space for them, especially with our comments on Trump and the Gaza war.

As Andrea says, those who prefer the comforting lies and the biased commentary can go to sites where they can find it. Those who want to join us here in the posting of uncomfortable truths or discussions on them are welcome to do so.

This was originally the comforting lies meme. I converted to a Cat meme which I posted here, last year. I am on my own there but will do some image-shopping to add anyone else who wants to sit under the Catallaxy banner.

Addressed to any serious readers who want to take part in the blog, as regular contributors, but are hesitant or don’t know how to begin. Here are some suggestions:

There are many important topics to post on, but just three of us here on a regular basis cannot handle it. In a comment in last month’s thread, I listed a few topics.

It is a choice to take part or lurk. There is no shortage of news events taking place.

Covid, climate change, cost of living, electric vehicles, wokeism, economy, politicians, Census 2026, elections, gender ideology, wars, DEI, corruption, free speech, digital ids, WEF, globalism, or any other politics or non-politics topics.

If you want to get into the active participation, pick any issue that you are familiar with and post one comment on that topic every day, for one week. It can be your opinion, analysis, experience or a link to some info. At the end of the week, every serious reader on the blog will have learnt something on the topic you posted. That’s what this blog is about. Sharing for others to learn.

Try it for another week. Use the same topic or pick another one. Initially, it may feel awkward. Once you commit yourself to regularly posting on the blog, it gets easy. It will also give you the experience of being on the other side; an involved, active poster, not a passive, lurking reader. You will experience what it is like to spend some time in research, and then to post what you’ve learnt. It is easy to be a passive reader/lurker, but participating takes some effort, and it is a choice.

Don’t expect responses to what you post. You may get replies or not. You may get some who agree or disagree – that is free speech.

So if anyone wants to take up the challenge and try it out, you’ll find that after the initial weeks, it is easy to get into the serious blogging cycle here. And you’ll learn a lot about the subjects you post on.

… Yet oddly enough, Ferguson could level exactly those same very harsh accusations against far weightier historical figures. Robert Faurisson, a French academic who became a prominent Holocaust Denier in the 1970s, once made an extremely interesting observation regarding the books of Eisenhower, Churchill, and De Gaulle:

Three of the best known works on the Second World War are General Eisenhower’s Crusade in Europe (New York: Doubleday [Country Life Press], 1948), Winston Churchill’s The Second World War (London: Cassell, 6 vols., 1948-1954), and the Mémoires de guerre of General de Gaulle (Paris: Plon, 3 vols., 1954-1959). In these three works not the least mention of Nazi gas chambers is to be found.

Eisenhower’s Crusade in Europe is a book of 559 pages; the six volumes of Churchill’s Second World War total 4,448 pages; and de Gaulle’s three-volume Mémoires de guerre is 2,054 pages. In this mass of writing, which altogether totals 7,061 pages (not including the introductory parts), published from 1948 to 1959, one will find no mention either of Nazi “gas chambers,” a “genocide” of the Jews, or of “six million” Jewish victims of the war…

The theological heresy in Singapore. How did it come to this?

This essay from Bishop Strickland explains what has gone wrong in the Vatican and parts of the Catholic Church.

    Lord by Thy Holy Cross

We must also acknowledge that leaders in the Church of the highest rank are leading the world, not towards, but away from Jesus Christ…..

Although tolerance and religious freedom are important, we in the Church must defend our faith with conviction and share the truth with certainty. As Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)….

I have often, at various times, expressed my deep concern regarding the occurrence of heresy and the atmosphere of apostasy as it emanates from the Vatican in Rome, but I must now ask this question: “Where is the outcry of the shepherds? Where is the courage and conviction to defend our faith?”……

I implore all of my fellow bishops to rise up and to protect the Deposit of Faith! And I implore all of the faithful to take to heart these words of Archbishop Fulton Sheen:

“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious: It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops, and your religious act like religious.”

    2020 US Elections: Who won?

There was an article on the Sky News website about ex-PM John Howard’s opinion on the two candidates in this US Election. He said he could not support Trump or Harris. The reason he would not vote for Trump, if he was an American, was due to Trump’s refusal to accept his loss at the 2020 election.

Now scroll down to the comments. Poor Aussie Magadonians have a dilemma. Is Howard is a liberal party hero, or does that change now because he is not supporting their cult-hero Trump?

    Here is Steve Bannon.

Steve Bannon, one of Trump’s primary political advisors, caught on tape a few days before the 2020 election saying Trump’s strategic plan was to say the election was stolen and to “Do some crazy sh*t”.

They planned the rigged election lie, it was never real.

After the election, Trump was advised by aides and family that he had lost.
    J6 committee-Day2

Close aides, advisers and family members, including daughter Ivanka Trump, testified that they told then-President Donald Trump in the days and weeks after Nov. 3, 2020, that he had lost the White House to Joe Biden and that his increasingly outlandish fraud claims were meritless, according to recordings played by the panel.

    Pence-1

Pence has said Trump went beyond asking him to pause the count for an audit and urged him to reject the Biden electors outright, in the hopes of tipping the election in Trump’s favor.

“There was no discretion ever given to the vice president in history, nor should there ever be,” Pence told “Face the Nation.” “I had no right to overturn the election and Kamala Harris will have no right to overturn the election when we beat them in 2024.”

The group was expecting a difficult day. But what followed over the next 12 hours was more harrowing than they imagined.

An angry mob with baseball bats and pepper spray chanting “hang Mike Pence” came within 40 feet of the vice president. Mr. Pence’s Secret Service detail had to hustle him to safety and hold him for nearly five hours in the bowels of the Capitol. Mr. Trump called Mr. Pence a “wimp” and worse in a coarse and abusive call that morning from the Oval Office, Mr. Trump’s daughter and former White House aides testified……

Mr. Trump directed his supporters to march to the Capitol and make themselves heard…..

By the time Mr. Pence arrived at the Capitol with his wife, Karen Pence, and their daughter Charlotte, an angry mob was already massing outside…..

The Secret Service directed him to get into a car and evacuate, but he refused to leave the building.

There were lawsuits filed but they did not prove the election was stolen. If there was evidence of fraud why were the courts including judges/justices appointed by Trump – federal and supreme court – not able to reach this conclusion?

If Trump had taken the advice given by his team and accepted that he had lost, the matter would have ended there. But he attempted to pressure Mike Pence to break his oath and do the wrong thing, organised a Jan 6 rally and urged his supporters to march to the Capitol (justifying it with “peacefully” doesn’t make it okay). They were led to believe the election was stolen and the only response was a mob protest.

Mike Pence had done what was right by his oath and the Constitution – yet his own life was in danger. The mob had baseball bats and pepper spray and chanted “hang Mike Pence”. Trump called him a “wimp”. Yet, he did not flee to safety but stayed to see the completion of his task as Vice President.

If a Vice President has the power to disregard the election results, then in November 2024, Kamala, as Vice President, can do the same if the Democrats lose.

… Why should Palestinians (or anyone) respect a distinction between Jewishness and Zionism when the Israeli state is founded on – and its continued existence justified by – precisely this conflation? When the Star of David is emblazoned on the uniforms of the IDF soldiers who humiliate, torture and murder Palestinians? When, as an Australian Jew, I can settle on a kibbutz in southern Israel that was once home to the family of a Palestinian – now confined in Gaza mere kilometres away, who have to break through a barbed wire fence to “return” – simply because I am a Jew, and he is a Palestinian?

… I have been called a “kapo” (or collaborator), a “token Jew”, and received lurid messages: my parents would turn in their graves; I am a “denier of Judaism; the shame you wear is a suitable crucifix”; “shame on you and all you stand for”, and “there are those in the community who wish to do you harm”. I have been berated in Adelaide’s Pioneer Women’s Memorial Gardens by “disgusted” citizens. I have been glared at buying fruit. – the US Elections
    – the Conflict in the Middle East.

What are the reasons for the attention on these 2 topics?

    1/
The media, especially the Conservative media that I used to trust for the facts and unbiased reporting, have been selective in their truth-telling when it comes to these two topics. They are fairly good on the other issues like wokeism, global warming and so on, but their biases on the election and the conflict are obvious. To bring about the balance, even though this is a tiny site compared to the MSM, I have thought it necessary to use this blog as a means of providing the facts.

    2/
The US Elections and the conflict in the ME are not separate issues but interwoven to form one central issue that affects the entire world. The US and other western countries are changing their laws and rules to favour one side. If any other country had done what Israel has been doing for decades, and more so in the past year, there would be an outcry. But the western world is not just silent, it provides aid (not just monetary) to Israel and calls it “the only democracy” in the ME.

To compare the conduct of the IDF in prosecuting the occupation to the Nazi regime’s segregation, dispossession and persecution of the Jews in World War II is forbidden.

Truth is, the misinformation battle may be unwinnable
Is it possible to stamp out harmful online lies without restricting basic freedoms of speech?

The minister has told parliament that the revised bill honours the government’s commitment to vest “the Australian Communications and Media Authority with new powers to ¬create transparency and accountability around the efforts of digital platforms to combat mis- and disinformation on their services, while balancing the freedom of expression that is so fundamental to our democracy”. Finding that balance without even a statutory bill of rights is the challenge.

Basically, misinformation is inaccurate information. The draft bill now specifies that the inaccurate information has to be “reasonably verifiable as false, misleading or deceptive”. Misinformation becomes disinformation if “there are grounds to suspect that the person disseminating, or causing the dissemination of, the content intends that the content deceive another person”.
