    Cash!

I’d be stocked if Stevo took cash into a hospice one day. I used to take Oma’s dog in every few days and the place would light up from room to room. They allowed you putting the dog on her bed…and letting him walk around and visit other rooms. His name was Borris…a miniature collie. Lassie, but male.

This dog would be a shot of adrenalin.

    Spiked Online

Warning: sharing a spiked article could get you in trouble with the government

An explosive new report reveals that the British state waged a sinister surveillance campaign against critics of lockdown.

    Fraser Myers
    Deputy editor

    29th January 2023

The Covid lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 were an unprecedented assault on liberty – not only on our freedom to go about our daily lives, but also on our freedom of expression and our freedom to dissent. Just as we were ordered to ‘stay at home’ for months on end, we were also told to stop asking questions about the draconian restrictions.

Today, a report by Big Brother Watch has revealed the alarming lengths the UK government went to in order to hush up its critics. We now know that three government bodies, including a shady Ministry of Defence unit tasked with fighting ‘information warfare’, surveilled and monitored UK citizens, public figures and media outlets who criticised the lockdown – and spiked was caught up in that net.

This mini Ministry of Truth was composed of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) in the Cabinet Office, the Counter Disinformation Unit (CDU) in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the army’s 77th Brigade. The 77th Brigade exists to monitor and counter so-called disinformation being spread by adversarial foreign powers. But, as a whistleblower from the unit told Big Brother Watch, ‘the banner of disinformation was a guise under which the British military was being deployed to monitor and flag our own concerned citizens’. The other bodies worked together to monitor ‘harmful narratives online’ and to push back on them, by promoting government lines in the press and by flagging posts to social-media companies in order to have them removed.

The public figures targeted by these shadowy units included Conservative MP David Davis, Lockdown Sceptics founder Toby Young, talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer and Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens. All of whom had warned about the consequences of lockdown and had raised questions about the UK government’s alarmist modelling of the virus.

Documents obtained by Big Brother Watch, using subject-access requests, reveal that Peter Hitchens was flagged for, among other things, sharing a spiked article. A cross-Whitehall disinformation report from the RRU in June 2020 notes that, ‘The spiked article was shared on Twitter by Peter Hitchens, which led to renewed engagement on that specific platform’. The RRU also monitored the level of public agreement, noting that ‘some highly engaged comments’ agreed with the article, while others were critical.

What this amounts to is a sinister campaign of surveillance and censorship against the critics of lockdown. From the moment the government shut down society in spring 2020 it also tried its best to shut down debate and dissent. Anyone who raised concerns about lockdown’s impact on our liberties, our health or our economy was treated as a public-health hazard – as the enemy within.

We desperately need a reckoning with lockdown, and with the lockdown on dissent that accompanied it.

I had my second over the phone in-patient consult with the hospital today. All the usual questions about any previous illness, previous hospital visits, drinking and smoking habits etc etc. Do you exercise or suffer from dizzy spells?…the list goes on.

Typical me, I couldn’t help myself when the inevitable came up.

    Nurse: ‘Have you had C-19?’
Me: Negative. I haven’t been sick from a flu in close to 20 years. I’ve never had a flu jab of any sort, either.
Nurse: ‘Have you tested yourself for C-19 via a R.A.T or PCR?’
Me: I’ve never taken the tests as both are flawed and are prone to false positives.
    Nurse: ‘Oh, ok.’

    Skipping along…

Nurse: ‘Are you willing to receive a blood donation from another person in the event it is needed.’
Me: Sure. But under no circumstances do I want to receive blood from someone who has had the mRNA shots.
Nurse: ‘m…RNA?’ She asked with a bit of hesitancy. That raised my eyebrows.
Me: The covid jabs are mRNA I said.. And they are dangerous. I repeated again that under no circumstances will I allow it in my body.
Nurse: ‘Ok, just typing it in now’

It came across as she didn’t know what that was?…perhaps I am over thinking it. Anyway, it doesn’t matter, she was courteous, respectful and all round a lovely person. He accent tells me she was from the UK. Good luck to any doctor wanting to “correct” my stance on the subject when they read that on screen. I reckon it will be a topic of conversation amongst them. I doubt they will bring it up with me.

The Albo government quietly overturning the Djokovic automatic three year visa ban is something that I will give them credit for. It was handled well.

I doubt that last year Scotty and his pal Alex had planned to block Novak from playing in the Aus Open. But then, with an election around the corner, they decided to show how tough they were on security and it escalated to Novak being kicked off and banned for 3 years.

It wasn’t about Covid. It wasn’t about tennis.
It was a political game. The LNP lost the election but Scotty and Alex, both in safe Lib seats get elected, anyway.

It is 2023. Does Albo get credit for overturning the ban?
Think it is suddenly about sport and nothing else?

This year’s Open had no Federer, Kyrgios, Nadal (had to give up halfway). No Ash Barty, Osaka, Halep, what-her-name who has “evolved away” not retired. A few other top players.

There were some mumblings about the fact that all Novak’s matches were during the night not day. Reason being that most viewers watch the night matches and he was the major draw-card. Without Novak and the audiences, Tiley, sponsors and media would have been very unhappy.

I’ve heard that Albo spent a great deal of time watching the tennis in Melbourne instead of the happenings in Alice.

Think Albo overturned the ban with the best intentions of the sport and tennis lovers in mind?

  43. kaysee kaysee says:

How come that Ukrainian ambassador was allowed to make demands about what Novak’s father could do and say? The Novak team must have made the decision that it would be better for Srdjan Djokovic to stay away from the final and so he couldn’t be there watching his son win the match.

Politics and sport shouldn’t be allowed to mix. But it does.

Azarenka provides the answer that media, politicians and heads of sporting bodies don’t understand.

Beaten star Victoria Azarenka bristled in her post-match press conference when pressed on tennis’ relationship with Russia’s war on Ukraine.

The ugly issue reared its head again when Novak Djokovic’s father was filmed posing with pro-Putin activists outside Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.

After losing her semi-final to Elena Rybakina, journalists pressed Azarenka on how such an incident may affect Djokovic and other players.

I was shopping at Colesworth yesterday and found they only had three boxes of eggs left on the shelf*. There was a sign apologising for the absence of eggs which said the shortage was due to supplier problems.

What’s going on with eggs? I’ve heard people in the UK complaining about the lack of eggs over there for around a month, and similar complaints are now being heard in the USA, what’s going on?

I don’t know about Canada and New Zealand, we may have five eyes but we’ve got zero eggs.

    * I bought a dozen at some exorbitant price, they were organic free range decaffeinated eggs laid by contented chooks on a sunny meadow, hence the extortionary price tag.

…As I reported last month, Jordan Peterson took a trip to Israel with Ben Shapiro in October to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu and produce pro-Netanyahu, pro-Israel propaganda to feed to his 6.3 million YouTube subscribers.

After returning, Peterson made it his mission to ban anonymity on the internet to combat “anti-Semitism” and silence “anonymous troll demons.”

Jordan Peterson Calls for Regime Change in Iran to Fight ‘Misogyny’ It is not surprising. Nassim Taleb is pro Zelensky, his new friend. It happens to them all. It used to be called the Parliamentary Embrace by the Brits. Referring to the rabid working class communists who get elected to Parliament and eventually become more ‘understanding”.
Fame and adulation does it to them all. Never praise a smart man.
