Cossack pressed Kelly on preferencing again.

Kelly, like last time, did an explanation on how preferences work, and it’s the voter that has the power, the parties only recommend, etc.

When pushed by Cossack, Kelly says they will be doing it seat by seat closer to the election, but in general his view is put the sitting member last.

Yes, the tendency to ignore or attack everything that doesn’t come via an “Approved Poster”, along with never ending laurels being tossed between “Approved Posters”, is making the place dull and worse, burying issues that should be featured and spread widely.

For instance, I got told off for pointing out that the now closed E-Petition to Stop Daniel Andrews ‘Hitler-esque’ Power Bill, wasn’t letting people sign & even going backwards in the number count.

NO ONE cared that the most dangerous power shift we’ve faced is being helped along with Andrews now being able to say, ‘that there wasn’t any real opposition against it’, because of an obviously dodgied up Petition.
All they cared about was sending the message to keep ignoring the issue because the ‘wrong/unpersoned’ person raised it.

Oh well, at least we still have AdamD’s Cat for a regular flow of information worth keeping up with.

Evan Mulholland of the IPA looks at recent Roy Morgan “trusted brands” surveys and highlights the decline of #TheirABC.
    From The Spectator

…The ABC will often fend off legitimate criticism and calls for reform, by pointing out how regular published trust surveys rank them one of the most trusted brands in the country. But that seems to have changed recently.

The latest Roy Morgan survey on trusted brands, released last month [September], sheds some light on how the ABC is fairing.

The ABC are usually very quick to make a lot of noise about these surveys, but they’ve been oddly mute on this one. A little digging reveals why.

Anyone just looking at the Roy Morgan release wouldn’t think anything of it really, the ABC is not mentioned. But the detail is hidden in an 18-minute webinar from Roy Morgan explaining the survey.

It shows how from year-end June 2021, the ABC slipped 9 places in Roy Morgan’s most trusted brands, with some interesting verbatims.

ABC has gone from 10th to 19th place in Australia’s ranking of trusted brands. The most fascinating is the representatives from Roy Morgan commenting on the ABC’s trust decline.

Social scientist Dr Ross Honeywill in the webinar notes how significant it is that the ABC has fallen from 5th to 19th most trusted brand in just two years and he says the ABC “risks falling out of the top 20 most trusted brands completely.” …

‘Judge drops Count 6 against Rittenhouse

Judge Bruce Schroeder on Monday has dropped the sixth count facing accused Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse, which was possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 – a misdemeanor

The defense, according to the Associated Press, argued that Wisconsin’s statute had an exception that could be read to clear Rittenhouse. That exception involves whether or not a rifle or shotgun is short-barreled.

After prosecutors conceded in court Monday that Rittenhouse’s rifle was not short-barreled, Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed the charge’

    Pfizer fallout

    Koulla Roussos
    6 November at 06:32 ·
My sister and ABC journalist and news anchor Eleni Roussos did not attend the NT Media awards ceremony tonight.
She was in hospital last night diagnosed with pericarditis(clinically), an inflammation of the outer lining of the heart, an adverse reaction to her first Pfizer jab. She was released after tests , but her situation hasn’t improved and is heading back to ED.

    Update Nov13

Whilst she is still not over the line, she leaves this hospital today thanks to the care and attention of cardiologist Dr Marcus Ilton. Special thanks to nursing staff – Sasi, Jacinta, Molly, Mariana, Alex and Earl for their amazing work.
