Some time last year, there was talk of a UN-type “treaty” that was to be administered by the WHO, and which gave that same organisation (WHO) the ability to declare a “State of Emergency” that had to be implemented by the various signatory nations – as in mandatory.
Tedros has gone very quiet on that. I saw his urgent plea for the nations to surrender their sovereignty to the WHO for health pandemic related issues, we won’t know our response till after the election I’d say.
I’d also guess that, regardless of a Liberal or Labor win, Australia, New Zealand and Canada will sign away their sovereignty. Then the PMs and state Premiers can just shrug their shoulders when the mandates come back, it’s not their fault, just complying with an international agreement which outranks the nation’s constitution and laws. interesting article on Taiwan’s defence with a proposal to acquire diesel submarines.
Cue the observation: “It only makes sense for Taiwan to take charge of its own destiny. Human nature helps explain why self-help represents the bedrock underlying international relations. Probably not this treaty, but it will sit as a precedent. If we sign away our sovereignty to the WHO for health related measures, i.e., mandatory jabbing, then the precedent exists to do the same with climate related issues. Report comment
It was just last week that we reported that children in Europe and the United States were coming down with a mysterious liver disease. Now, the World Health Organization has confirmed the first death from the acute hepatitis of unknown origin.

A combination of reflections. Anzac day. Add to it the French election. And some personal experiences.
Instead of one long comment, it’s split in three.
….
A few months ago, a newbie took up residence, very close to where I live. The occupant turned to be a really noisy character. Most of the time on the phone – yakkity yak, cackle-cackle, on full volume, that carried over to nearby residences. Also the thumping doosh-doosh of “music”.
It got bad enough, so with a bit of research, I was able to work out the right quarters to complain to, and I did so. There was a brief period of peace and quiet after that, but it didn’t last long. Back again yakking-cackling-dooshing.
I was wondering what to do, and decided to watch and wait for a week. I kept a record of the dates and times to provide as proof, if necessary. In the meantime, I think, there was another complaint – maybe one or maybe more. As a result, the problem was taken seriously and the occupant must have got a stern warning.
Result: Peace and quiet for the past few weeks. It shows that complaining on one hand, and action taken by the relevant agency could bring out the right outcome. The same noisy character who believed she could get away with doing as she pleased, is suddenly now living low key – having been warned. If you don’t understand the rules and respect others, the leash may be required to keep you in place.
How long will this last? I don’t know. I hope the warning was harsh enough to keep her in line and deter a repeat. I don’t like having to complain but it was necessary. And I will do it again, if required. Report comment
There is another area that I know very well. It is a residential section with buildings all around. Occasionally, there will be a loud mouth or loud music at a volume enough to disturb those next door or a few doors away, but not beyond that. Generally, it is a quiet area. It is mulit-kulti – all kinds of people who go about their own business.
There is one unit, in one of the buildings where a few times a year, there are loud parties. Who are these residents? The muzzic is the identifier. Take a guess. Loud, droning, grim, dreary. And the partiers are sitting in the balcony chattering-clapping-shouting.
The sound system volume is so high, it can be heard down the street, in units a few buildings away. If it can be heard at a distance, what must be the level of the noise for the people who live next door, above and below the unit, in other units in that building, or the next building?
The latest party was a week ago, on Easter Sunday. Christians living in this area would have celebrated this most important feast with family and friends but without disturbing others. Yet this clan have no concerns about interrupting the peace of others. They must have gathered that evening for their noisy communal breaking of fast.
Aren’t people being disturbed? Especially, the ones in close proximity to that particular unit? Of course they are. But they don’t want to stir themselves from their comfort zones. They don’t want to be the “bad guys”. They hope that Someone Else Will do something. They put up with those who break what are Strata rules, and let the breakers get away with it. These rule breakers have come into the country from other cultures, many settle down and form enclaves, and turn it into a mini version of the country they ran away from. If that is not enough, they come into areas that are either western dominant or multi-kulti and take over. A centimetre. An inch. A metre……
How does that happen?
Simple. The rest do nothing.
The do-nothingers may whinge and grumble. But in reality, they do nothing constructive to prevent or halt the problem.

2. Legitimise their actions to date: They have breached the Australian Constitution and numerous existing treaties dealing with human rights to which we are a signatory.

Twitter’s woke workforce must be ‘literally shaking’ by now. Expect a stream of stories in the MSM about how they are losing sleep (but not weight) and experiencing PTSD symptoms at the thought of free speech.
I read somewhere that Elon got his first 9% of Twitter for free. The Twitter stock price rose, as did that of his own company, and added up, he got it for nothing.
Like him or loathe him, you have to admit that he is a very smart cookie.

That’s a huge statement by Adam Creighton about the new Twitter.
More interesting is that Trump won’t go back to Twitter if his banning is lifted. Who can blame him. That was a huge kick in the guts to him and the unhinged types are still there waiting for him.
