It had a blog owner with a public profile. The blog was around for years, so this gave the owner experience in dealing with the problems connected to running a blog.
Yet, even after years, the blog still had:
a/ Software bugs which caused problems in the posting/viewing of comments and so on.
b/ Swamp creatures that came in to the blog, some on a permanent basis, others sneaked in by changing hosiery.
So the experienced blog owner had to juggle these issues on a regular basis, even until the final forum and final day of the blog. This was because there wasn’t a simple solution to locking out the vermin.
Don’t forget those who greeted, fed and watered the vermin each time they appeared. And those who cheered and applauded from the sidelines. Anyone who dared to suggest ignoring the swamp got a hard serve in return.
Then there were the grumbles about the blog glitches that caused problems in the blog. Yet, despite all the issues, commenters stayed with the blog.
Yeah, there were the occasional flouncers, but they returned.

What happened to a fair go?
What happened to allowing someone time to find their feet in a new venture?
I put up with the swamp creatures and software bugs on Cat2 because the benefits were greater than the problems.
I have stayed here on Cat3, not because there aren’t other options, but because it was the first blog set up and running before Cat2 shut down. I was glad and thankful, then. Now, I want to give the blog and its owner a fair chance. And that includes putting up with the software bugs and glitches, and scrolling past the vermin.
Cat2 wasn’t perfect. And it was around for years.
Cat3 isn’t perfect. And it is just 6 weeks old.
I don’t know what will happen to it. Will it survive or not? There are a number of issues. I do not know if /when the roadblocks will be cleared, or where this blog is headed. But I am hopeful that the various bugs (in more than one sense) will be ironed out.
I am prepared to give it some more time. And while here, I’ll do my best to keep it going.
Thankfully, this is an online forum – not a ship in real life. Many passengers were thrilled when it stopped mid-ocean to pick them up. Until they found it wasn’t up to their standards. Then they looked around and found better sailing vessels.

So, I went to the first thread to see if I could spot any clues.
Funding is not an issue but moderation and other side task may be more burdensome if the site takes off. I just rushed this one out in case sinc pulled the plug quickly.
The Taliban have started painting over murals left behind from the American occupation. Here they paint over one mural depicting St George Floyd and replace it with proclamations of victory.
Small physics lectures continuing. Now as you know I don’t like it how the oligarchy got a bunch of children to pass off third rate theology as physics. But I certainly like first-rate theology in song. Which is what I have linked below.*
