The Russians wouldn’t want to get rid of their own power to simply turn the thing on or off at will, so they didn’t do it.
Who’s left?
The US, the UK (Liz Truss is a swivel eyed warmongering loon), the Poles. The latter hate Russians and Germans and might not mind doing both in the eye while the US/UK get the blame.

Leaders from Poland, Norway and Denmark have attended a ceremony to mark the opening of the new Baltic Pipe, a key stage in the drive to wean Poland and Europe off Russian gas.
The pipeline will transport natural gas from the Norwegian shelf via Denmark and through the Baltic Sea to Poland. It is the centrepiece of a Polish strategy to diversify away from Russia that began years before Moscow’s February invasion of Ukraine triggered a global energy crisis.
The flows from Norway along with supplies via liquefied gas terminals are central to Poland’s plan. The country was cut off from Russian gas supplies in April, allegedly for refusing to pay in roubles.
With the cost of living surging, free hot bread distribution for the poor has been introduced in Dubai, a rich Gulf emirate where millionaires rub shoulders with hard-working migrants.
The city of skyscrapers soaring above the desert, which imports almost all of its food, has been impacted by rapidly rising consumer prices, a global trend exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Ten vending machines were installed last week in supermarkets, with a computer touch screen allowing people to select different types: loaves for sandwiches, pitta bread or flat Indian-style chapatis.
The machine has a credit card reader — for donations not payment.
But if Meloni is truly ready to lead Italy out from under the yoke of oppression and insanity, then she must learn to see the United States is at the heart of the “new internationalist regime” that she has promised to fight. It is the enemy of everything she cherishes; it cares no more for the welfare of Italians than it does for Americans and is, in fact, hostile toward their flourishing. It would not be enough for Meloni to reject the consensus of Davos and Brussels if she did not reject Washington as well.
Now, she is not perfect (none of us are), and I am sure that there are things she will fail to do if given the chance. I am not sure if there has ever been a politician in history that has not let down supporters in some way.
Whatever may be said about Meloni, she is not a leftist, and she is not a friend of the globalist elites.

I would have liked to read this entire article but it is paywalled.
But it is La Meloni who is the biggest surprise. Almost exactly a century after Oct. 28, 1922, when fascism’s inventor, Benito Mussolini, brought his movement to power in the March on Rome, Meloni has won power at the head of a party with a connection to Mussolini’s legacy. It is hard to say what the term “fascist” means today—if, indeed, it means anything at all.
Speaking of brown bread, Tim Ball (of Ball vs Mann fame) died over the weekend. Despite defeating Mann in court and winning costs, Ball never received a cent of the seven-figure sum Mann owed him. The family will be setting up a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses.
29 Sept 2022 Germany’s future looks bleak due to war-based sanctions and an energy crisis. Germans continue to protest but will it do any good? We ask academic researcher Ralph Schoelhammer what we can expect from Germany and what he calls “incompetent politicians.”
Thousands of people in Germany against Olaf Scholz’s policy and the explosion of energy and gas prices. They demand an end to sanctions on Russia and the reopening of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Demonstrations also in other German cities but EU media censors them.
Water yield. Does the Borumba dam catchment have sufficient yield to supply the necessary water requirements of a project this scale? The western portion of Mary catchment has a declining stream flow / yield i.e Kandanga Creek the sub-catchment to the north of Yabba Creek has consistent declining stream flow since 1960’s.

There were three major news stories yesterday but only two made a big splash. The Russian gas pipelines, Nordstrom 1 & 2, servicing Germany and wider European energy needs suffered mysterious mutilation roughly 12 hours apart. It has been described as “deliberate damage” by European officials, which might well be understatement of the century.
Last month (August), I was off from the blog for a couple of weeks as I was busy. When I checked in, it turned out that there weren’t many others on the blog. There was some discussion related to the blog being dead and whether it should be shut down.
I don’t want the blog to close up so I joined in to add to the comments being posted. This month, I decided that I would come in every day – even when busy – and just try to post a few comments, in order to do my part in keeping the blog moving along. That is what I have done for the past 4 weeks. I have been here every day, taking part in the blog threads. I hoped that others who also wanted to keep the blog going would come in and add to the Threads, and there are some who have been making the effort.
I do not have any social media accounts. I am not a part of other blogs. I do not have any special sources and contacts. But I am keen to learn as much as I can about what is happening in the world. When it comes to self-education and learning, I am a big Glutton. I go searching for it in nooks and crannies, wherever it can be found, in the limited time I have. I spend my time on sites where I can quickly read and learn, rather than the ones that are just time-wasters.
When I come across something that Cats here may be interested in, I bookmark it or copy it or save it. Then share it here. On this one blog. I think a few of the others who post here, may have a similar method to mine.
From my part, there is plenty to post by way of comments as well as blog posts. The problem is that it takes up time – and I find that commodity in short supply.
This is to the regular commenters on the blog.
If I am not on this site for days, it doesn’t mean I have ditched it for greener pastures. There may be other blogs and sites, but I do not have much interest in being a part of them. There is something special about this blog – it is simple, free from d**kheads, shenanigans, dramas and egos.
I do not know what the future holds for this blog. I would like this site to stay up and running. It is a much needed free speech platform. I’ll do my best to keep coming here and posting, as often as I can. It is just that I may not able to come in every day. I’ve done it this month and it hasn’t been easy. I can’t continue with it. I belong to the time-poor category – so much to do, so little time.

29 Sept 2022 New Italy PM Giorgia Meloni takes a dig at the French President for his past remark on Italy where he called the country “disgusting, cynics, and irresponsible”.

Giorgia Meloni
The result of the election in Italy, with Giorgia Meloni as the next PM, has been welcomed by Conservatives but has triggered the lefties.
Here’s a clip of Meloni on immigration.
Meloni’s response to Macron
Now there are some whisperings that Giorgia is not really Conservative, but Controlled Opposition.
This tweet has aroused suspicions.
Is she pro-Zelensky?
Or could it be just a polite response?
