Federal Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching has died from a suspected heart attack.

Labor caucus members were distraught when colleagues, including Labor leader Anthony Albanese were told of the Victorian senator’s sudden death on Thursday.

Kitching, 52, led a push in Parliament to pass new laws to seize the assets of individuals who had committed human rights abuses around the world.

The new powers, known as “Magnitsky laws” after Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, have been part of the armoury used by the federal government to impose sanctions on prominent Russian oligarchs in response to the war in Ukraine.

Colleagues on both sides of politics had praised Kitching for leading the push to pass the laws.

Which ‘oligarchs’ have the Federal Government identified as committing human rights abuses?

The US gas and oil industries have been under attack from the Biden administration from Day 1 – ranging from rhetoric to regulatory hurdles, resulting in nervousness by financial institutions to lend money to support expansion. Then there are the ‘woke’ financial institutions who have vowed not to assist oil and gas companies because they are ‘committed to Saving Da Planet.’

Now Biden and the US MSM are blaming skyrocketing petrol and diesel prices on Wussia, even though prices began to rise well before the war. What’s more, tone deaf Transportation Secretary Buttgeig has said that the solution is for everyone to buy electric cars.

It’s a slow motion train wreck, which would be merely entertaining but for the very high stakes.

Facebook and Instagram to permit posts calling for violence against Russians and death of Putin

I still think this is basically an anti Trump thing. Hilary Clinton lost the election 2016 and the US media even before and ever after were claiming Putin and Trump colluded for Trump to win the election and therefore Trump’s win was illegal.

Calling for assassination of Putin is like calling for assassination of Trump, something the Left has dreamed about for ages.

Whenever was the media concerned with the Russia/Ukraine history ever? I would say – never.

Yes, I remember when she & her husband were well known for playing everyone for their own advantage, she particularly for playing, ‘the nice person’ when it paid.

Now all those who knew better are pretending she was ‘the nice person’ she was good at acting, you know, ‘winning people & influencing people’ into doing what was against their best interests but damn good for the ‘influencer’.

She wasn’t ‘friendly across the board’, she was disloyal to all but herself and none who she coned wanted to admit she could take them it, so they just kept pretending, ‘she was nice’.

Actor Jussie Smollett sentenced to 150 days in jail for lying to police about fake hate crime

Actor Jussie Smollett has been sentenced to 30 months of probation, including 150 days of jail time, and ordered to pay restitution for his conviction of lying to police about a racist and homophobic attack that he orchestrated himself.

Smollett, who is Black and gay, reported to police that two men wearing ski masks beat him, and hurled racial and homophobic slurs at him on a dark Chicago street and ran off. The 39 year old was also ordered to pay $120,000 in restitution to the city of Chicago and fined $25,000 by Judge James Linn of Cook county circuit court.

Linn denied a request to suspend Smollett’s sentence and ordered he be placed in custody immediately.

After the sentencing, Smollett removed the face mask he wore throughout the hearing to loudly proclaim his innocence.

He also loudly insisted that he was not suicidal, suggesting that “if anything happens” in jail, he did not take his own life.

“If I did this, then it means that I stuck my fist in the fears of Black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBT community,” Smollett said, standing up at the defense table as his lawyers and sheriff’s deputies surrounded him. “Your Honor, I respect you and I respect the jury but I did not do this.”

“I am innocent. I could have said I am guilty a long time ago,” Smollett shouted as sheriff’s deputies led him out of the courtroom, capping an hourslong sentencing hearing.…

It’s been a tough week after fleeing the war zone in Kyiv, Ukraine and making it to Budapest, Hungary. I hung out with @bald and bankrupt for a few days while we recovered, edited and uploaded the footage from the train journey, and did our best to see a bit of the city while we were here. Budapest to us looks like a mix between two European cities, and as you’ll see in this video, it has so much to its history, architecture and buildings.

We eat some local and traditional Hungarian food, then attend an anti-war demonstration in front of the Russian Embassy in support of Ukraine, and get a welcome visit from a good friend that you may recognize from Kyiv.

Russia has called for a UN Security Council meeting to discuss purported US-backed biological weapons programs in Ukraine. Washington has denied that it owns or operates any such biolabs in the country, while Kiev insisted that the facilities were engaged only in civilian research.

Moscow’s deputy UN envoy Dmitry Polyanskiy announced the move early on Friday, saying the mission had requested a Security Council summit for March 11, while citing a Defense Ministry briefing claiming that the United States and NATO allies ran “military biological programs” in Ukraine.

The military briefing went on to claim that the Pentagon’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency is “financing and conducting military biological research on the territory of Ukraine,” citing documents it said it captured at several facilities during Russia’s ongoing attack on the country. Among other activities, the ministry said research was carried out at laboratories in Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa to “study the possibility of the spread of particularly dangerous infections through migrating birds.”…

With Fauci having facilitated the US funding of Wuhan lab experiments that led to the Covid pandemic, it would be prudent to have multilateral verification of these biological programs in Ukraine.
