The US federal government paid hundreds of media companies
to advertise the COVID-19 vaccines while those same outlets provided positive coverage of the vaccines

In response to a FOIA request filed by TheBlaze, HHS revealed that it purchased advertising from major news networks including ABC, CBS, and NBC, as well as cable TV news stations Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, legacy media publications including the New York Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post, digital media companies like BuzzFeed News and Newsmax, and hundreds of local newspapers and TV stations. These outlets were collectively responsible for publishing countless articles and video segments regarding the vaccine that were nearly uniformly positive about the vaccine in terms of both its efficacy and safety.

In honour of International Wymyns Day, a group of wymyns got together to tell Australia that they need to talk about

    Safety, Respect, Equity.

(If it helps, I quit after a few seconds.)

I wonder if they consulted that other wymyn, Alan Tudge’s former media adviser, Rachelle Miller about how she was unsafe and not respected.

Emotional text messages between married former cabinet minister Alan Tudge and his ex media advisor Rachelle Miller have been revealed after an inquiry found he did not breach ministerial standards.

Texts and emails between the pair, seen by The Australian, show Ms Miller was persistent in trying to reconnect with Mr Tudge for four years after their affair ended in 2017, telling she missed and loved him.

Since the investigation cleared Tudge, Miller is no longer useful to the project.

    From Marise Pain

Russian ‘propagandists and purveyors of disinformation’ targeted as Australia announces further sanctions

    Very good comments:

    – Paine: Please don’t mention the war in Ukraine for the last 8 years, NATO encroaching on Russia or the coup in 2014. If you do you will be banned.

    – Basically in a nutshell minister you cant get the bully so you want to kick the bullies dog.

    – I think disinformation is very relative. What I have seen lately is people expressing their opinion, and others trying to suppress that because it goes against theirs. I am able to check information, and in order to make a judgment we need to confront different views.
So there’s another name for that and it’s clearly not “disinformation ”.

    – Discernment : The ability to judge well.

It is constantly and frequently being taken from others (censorship) as the powers that be do not believe the public capable of discernment (they do not believe the population is smart enough, or ready enough, for all the information they control).

    – The only news we see is all one sided ! Surely Marise does not think that Australians are unable to discern fake news. Lots of propaganda pro Ukraine. Com’on give us a break. And don’tt push it!! This is not Australia’s fight!

Climate change: Five things we’ve learned from the IPCC report

1- Things are way worse than we thought

2 – Loss and damage gets scientific backing

3 – Technology is not a silver bullet (the technology is of the sort of machines to suck CO2 out of the air!)

4 – Cities offer hope (because they will rely on renewable energy!)

5 – The small window is closing fast. (8 years according to the demented squirrel, AOC)

Investing in nature will also be a bulwark against the worst, says the IPCC, which calls for 30-50% of the world to be conserved.

“Nature can be our saviour,” said Inger Anderson, the head of the UN Environment Programme.

“But only if we save it first.”

Steve, I’m shocked that Dover booted you. I’ve always found you a great read.

However, long before the old, old cat, I had fun around the Net flushing professional propagandists from their ‘friendly’ hides on ‘Social’ Media.
It’s the worst crime you can commit, to prove to people that their ‘very dear, long term friends’ on ‘Social’ Media are only BS peddlers grooming them to unquestioningly buy whatever new lie Global Totalitarians need people to buy.

It’s like telling a plain 40 something woman that her boyfriend only wants to marry her for her money; first they hate you for warning them, then they hate you more for not convincing them before it was too late.

Now for some reason I was allowed on Dover’s cat, early oversight, I don’t know, but I do know that the old herd of narrative controllers love having someone to ‘make an example of’; ‘Step out of the acceptable lines and you to will be hated & lied about this much, without any being bold enough to step & say, “Sorry, I hate them to, but what you said about them there is a blatant lie.”‘

Mind you, I still work on the belief that it’s those who read but don’t engage who are there to gather information to sort for themselves rather than push an agenda and it doesn’t hurt them to see that not everyone is scared of bullshitting cyber bullies and that standing up to them is simply practice for standing up to the thugs in real life.

In the old days when Sinc was still new to owning the old cat there was a genuine desire for the place to be a respected one-stop-news-&-views shop and so dodgy posts were questioned for clarification and lies were called out, hard & fast.

There was none, well, very little of that dangerous practice of letting ‘friends’ or ‘your side’ get away with blatant BS so long as it was against ‘the other side’.

Now, that’s gone out the window and it doesn’t matter how clearly, quote by fully contexed quote, you show the liars lies to be lies, they just double, triple & quadruple down, constantly repeating the same BS like deranged, cackling witches and even that doesn’t inspire others to tell them they’re ruining the blog.
No, for fear of also being targeted, it’s those who prove the liars lies who get told to STFU & piss off.

It’s as if 2 years of Global Totalitarianism really had trained people seek shelter in the mob and drive any on the edge into the jaws of the predators.

Jim Rogers Issues Warning: U.S. Dollar Being Used as “Instrument of War,” It’s the Endgame

“The U.S. dollar will die,” and it will fall from its position as the world’s reserve currency sooner than expected, says Jim Rogers, best-selling author of “Hot Commodities.” In his first video appearance since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Rogers tells our Daniela Cambone that Ukraine being inducted into NATO is the underlying cause of Russia’s actions. “Now we’re paying a gigantic price,” for the actions taken by U.S. elected officials, he says, and when the war is over, Russian stocks will be an undervalued opportunity. Other sovereign nations are frantically “coming up with something to compete with the U.S. dollar” due to economic sanctions being ramped up in recent years, Rogers asserts. “I cannot see the world having 100% computer money,” he concludes, saying governments will use it to control the masses.

Terry McCrann is shitty. The Hun:

‘Don’t we have enough twerps in Australia that we have to import one like the former hapless and hopeless Bank of England governor turn climate-boondoggle main-chancer Mark Carney?
Carney, who is now vice chairman of Canadian investment group Brookfield, was in Australia – be thankful for small mercies, only virtually – to lecture Australians on two topics. The first was our tardiness in embracing “going dark” with so-called full-on renewable energy.
The second was to berate the board of AGL, specifically for knocking back the opportunistic takeover bid Brookfield had launched for it in partnership with “Mr Harbourside Mansions Version 2.0”, got lucky, once, tech billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes.
Brookfield and Brooks wanted to buy AGL, abandon it’s proposed demerger into two companies, and accelerate the closure of its coal fired stations which are currently keeping Australian lights on, especially, when the wind don’t blow – and you know the rest. Last weekend the partners had upped their bed to $8.25 a share. It was promptly – and sensibly – rejected by the AGL board.
The central point that AGL holders should understand is that if the duo were prepared to pay $8.25, AGL shares are worth more, much more. Bidders don’t go around offering to spend 9 billion just to play Father Christmas. They want to make big bucks on their billions outlaid. The central point that the other 25 million Australians should understand is that those big bucks will be made by ripping more dollars out of their pockets, either directly as consumers or indirectly as taxpayers, while taking them into an increasingly – real, not virtual – dark future.
Indeed, with surprising – utterly unknowing? – “honesty” Carney said as much out loud. “The scale of the net zero transition (read: destroying cheap-reliable power generation) is such that this is a target rich environment (read: there are trillions of dollars to be made from hapless governments and suffering consumers), he said. You could not have asked for a more exquisite timing for Carney’s comments, as the events in and out of Ukraine prove the absolute, utterly critical, centrality of coal, gas and oil – fossil fuels all – in our everyday 24/7 needs and indeed our very existence.
Despite the trillions of dollars already wasted around the world on useless wind and solar, 85% of global energy still comes from gold, gas and oil.

‘Just 5% comes from so-called renewables (not including the real renewable, hated by Dark Greens, hydro) after all those trillions.
The trillions more that Carney talks about will barely take it up to 10%. And people like Carney never talk about China, pumping one-third of global emissions today and yet more tomorrow, other than to make fatuous and false claims China is ‘taking action on climate change’.
Go coal, gas and oil to keep the lights on; go renewables-woke, go broke and go dark. Talking of twerps, there was opposition leader and wannabe-PM Anthony Albanese on Wednesday saying in a speech that he would be a PM like John Howard (and Bob Hawke). So, was that Albanese saying he intended to emulate the “petulance, pettiness and sheer grinding inadequacy” that he judged Howard as PM? I’m indebted to blogger Michael Smith for highlighting a speech Albanese gave back in 1998 where he describes Howard as a worse PM even than Billy McMahon. Is it Albanese’s intent to match that? I was particularly taken with Albanese’s reference to Howard – nicely highlighted by Smith: “You can trim the eyebrows; you can cap the teeth; you can cut the hair; you can put on different classes; you can give him a ewe’s milk facial, for I care; but, to paraphrase a gritty Australian saying, “same stuff different bucket.””
Looked in a mirror recently, Anthony?’

‘Don’t we have enough twerps in Australia that we have to import one like the former hapless and hopeless Bank of England governor turn climate-boondoggle main-chancer Mark Carney?

I often think that the world’s conmen look upon Australia and its governments as a bunch of rubes, ripe for taking down.

Shy Ted – while I agree about the mask stuff being a farce, the advent of tele-consults for routine repeat prescriptions is a boon, IMHO. I have one that needs to be repeated monthly, thanks to numpties in the health dept who think that elderly people with chronic pain are one step away from becoming desperate junkies or dealing their meds at the pub.

Anyway, instead of me shlepping down to the surgery, waiting, waiting and finally taking up my busy GP’s time, when I book an appointment I tell them that it’s just a prescription repeat. She phones, asks me how I am, and as long as I am fine she has the script ready to send to my phone. Takes about three minutes. Much more efficient all round.
