With Jason Donovan in the lead, the expanded show was restaged in 1991 at the London Palladium with Steven Pimlott as director and Anthony Van Laast as choreographer, winning the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for set design. The cast album of this production was the #1 UK album for two weeks in September 1991, and the single “Any Dream Will Do” from it was also the #1 UK single for two weeks in June–July 1991. When Donovan left, former children’s TV presenter Phillip Schofield portrayed Joseph.

From the wiki: “In 1967, the Head of the music department of Colet Court School, London, asked a then-unknown Andrew Lloyd Webber (and Tim Rice) to compose a song for the boys choir to sing for their end-of-semester concert. First performed as a 15-minute Pop cantata at Colet, Decca Records recorded it in 1969 as part of a concept album after which ‘Any Dream Will Do’ would eventually become a fully-realized stage production, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Following in the wake of the next Lloyd Webber and Rice success, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph received stage productions beginning in 1970; produced first for the stage in the West End in 1973, and opening on Broadway in 1982.”

I thought that the choir featured prominently in Max Bygrave’s version.

Watching an action movie is not my form of entertainment. I have to admit that in my mind, the film Top Gun was about some bang…bang… from some fast moving car chases.

A bit of research proves that the story is different. But it still doesn’t interest me. However, what got my attention is the fact that the new release of Top Gun is a top-grossing movie. It is what movies are meant to be: Escapism from the real world for an hour or two. No woke messages. Just taking some time out in fantasy-land watching whatever genre of films you enjoy.

Even better, the woketards are upset that a non-woke movie is so successful. Perhaps movie-makers will take the hint and realise that the public don’t want to watch wokeology.

    From this article:

Woketard Leftists Whine as ‘Top Gun’ Continues to Overperform

Here’s what none of these embittered leftists can point to… A woke movie that overperformed at the box office.

Top Gun 2 is waaaayyy overperforming.

But, as we all know, they smell the coffee just fine.

From a Canadian, on a similar points:

But let’s be clear about what that means. It means that when bills are presented to Queen Elizabeth, they do not become law until she gives them her assent. She has the power to prevent them becoming law, albeit with the massive constitutional crisis that that would cause. Realpolitik means that these laws will find some other, non-constitutional way in through a revolution.

She also has another power which she can exercise at any time. That is the power to abdicate.

If you’re starting to feel uncomfortable, it’s about to get worse.

In 1967, Queen Elizabeth II was presented with what became the Abortion Act. As the name suggests, this is the Act which made abortion legal in a wide set of situations up to 28 weeks gestation. As a result of this Act, England are set to have their 10-millionth abortion this year.

Max with his great version of the Tim Rice’ Andrew Lloyd-Webber song Any Dream Will Do. From the stage play Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. This was a top ten hit here in Australia mid 1970s

The internet, including wiki, appears to have been sanitized of all references to this recording other than what’s discernable on the 45 rpm record label.

It appears that Tim Rice’s former employer Paramor and orchestra conductor Ingman, who produced records of the original Jesus Christ Superstar cast, produced this version at about the same time as Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat was being created as a stage play on the heels of Jesus Christ Superstar’s success – the official JCS site says that LLoyd Webber took a lot of control over content, post JCS.

It’s likely that the stage cast, including the Colet Court School Choir, was used in this recording along with Bygraves, per Paramor and Ingman’s original 1969 cast recording when it was just part of a 15 minute “Pop cantata” for the school.

Spidergoats to the rescue! How to make silk from milk with genetic engineering
Silk from orb-weaving spiders is versatile and valuable. But, unfortunately for us, spiders are territorial and cannibalistic, so farming them is out. However, the US molecular biologist Randy Lewis has spun a clever solution: genetically engineering goats to deliver the silky goods. First developing the idea at the University of Wyoming before moving his herd to Utah State University, Lewis manipulated goat eggs to include a spider silk-production gene. His resulting ‘spidergoats’ look entirely normal, but produce milk that contains spider-silk protein, which can be extracted for use in countless applications, from repairing human ligaments and tendons to producing parachutes and airbags. While this short documentary from 2010 uses humour to detail the ingenious transgenic process, it also prompts questions such as: are spidergoats a mutation too far? Or is this simply the next logical step in humanity’s millennia-long history of genetic manipulation?

Andrew Lloyd Webber has been passionate about music education for children since his early 20s. His and Tim Rice’s musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, was originally written for children, and the show is often performed with a children’s choir. It started out as a humble, short, 15-minute piece written for an Easter choir concert Lloyd Webber’s younger brother Julian was performing in. Here’s the story:

Alan Doggett, a music teacher at Colet Court school in Hammersmith, England, had asked Lloyd Webber if he would compose a piece just for the Easter end-of-term concert. Lloyd Webber asked his friend, Tim Rice, if he’d write the lyrics. The school’s choir performed at the Old Assembly Hall at Colet Court on March 1, 1968. The piece was performed two more times in 1968: May 12 at Central Hall, Westminster, where Lloyd Webber’s father was the organist, and November 9 at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The third performance was already the beginning of an expanded version.

Then, in January 1969, the record label Decca released an album of the St Paul’s Cathedral version of Joseph. Have a listen to this early rendition of “Any Dream Will Do”. You’ll hear a children’s choir singing in the background, of course, as you do for many of the cast recordings and also the movie, but the feel of the song is definitely different from later versions.

The price of fame – malice?

you are so right in what you say about the mindset of somebody who will be so affected that he would allow himself to be run over by a train.

As a teenager, I knew Alan Doggett for two or three years in between his time at Colett Court and his death. I can remember in 1978 reading a small article in the local paper and feeling stunned, shocked and saddened by the whole story. I found it extremely difficult to believe and chose to go with Tim Rice’s original theory that there was a strong vibe of jealous parents lurking whose young sons had not been chosen for the original Joseph recordings. There is quite a lot of information missing about Alan Doggetts life and the close friendship he shared with Tim Rice and Andrew and Julian Lloyd Webber who seem to be, sadly, steering clear of getting embroiled in the whole episode this time round. Loyalty is obviously not top of their agenda.

No media has even mentioned to date that Alan Doggett was Head Music Teacher at a state girls grammar school for several years in West London…. a school that both Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber visited in 1974 to give a talk and share their experiences to the sixth form of that year. I know because I was peeping through the glass doors of the assembly hall where the class was taking place and feeling excited that these two ‘famous’ people that we’d heard so much about from Alan Doggett were actually at our school. Many memories….

Doggett left Colett School just after the 1968 Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat recordings that he was instrumental in bringing about from their inception.
He suicided in 1978 after being charged with being a ped.

There has to be consequences for this – at the top level and all the way down to the “foot soldiers” (police who enforced the regs & medicos who injected the poison into millions of people).

    How will that happen?

We have the list of the entire line up, but how do we get to the point where they will face the penalties for their actions or inactions?

‘It’s A Sign That We Are Here’:
Muslim Call To Prayer Arrives To Minneapolis Soundscape

This spring Minneapolis became the first large city in the United States to allow the Islamic call to prayer, or adhan, to be broadcast publicly by its two dozen mosques.

“It’s a sign that we are here,” said Yusuf Abdulle, who directs the Islamic Association of North America, a network of three dozen mostly East African mosques. Half of them are in Minnesota, home to rapidly growing numbers of refugees from war-torn Somalia since the late 1990s.

Abdulle said that when he arrived in the United States two decades ago, “the first thing I missed was the adhan. We drop everything and answer the call of God.”

The first question is, why did he not explicitly call it out? Much like the Queen, saying nothing whilst watching the damage being inflicted by this farce is pathetic.

Phil the Greek said global warming was a load of bollocks on many occasions. Most people thought that he was just an old cantankerous bloke and didn’t pay much heed. Like Lizzie, there’s not much that constitutional monarchs can do or say, they have to act according to the advice of their ministers and stay out of politics.

I don’t know what Lizzie thinks but her children, or Charlie at least, is a hard-core believer. He should be advised to keep his royal mouth shut and keep his religious beliefs to himself lest he stray into politics through his CAGW beliefs.

I’m neither a republican nor a monarchist but I won’t swear fealty to an idiot who preaches global warming dogma.

I get the feeling we’d better get used to it. Islam is the “solution” for many of the youth today, particularly women. The gay thing is irrelevant as they just divide society into two parts: private ( you can do whatever you like – drink, gay..) and public – the sharia. The young men can re-establish their masculinity by protecting the family. Women can be whatever they like in private as long as enough have kids. The public side means you can BS all day long with fake concern. You can see it with the Leb trials here. Truth to them is irrelevant. Perhaps our magistrates will wake up, but I doubt it.
Christianity fell apart when the private became public.
When was the last time you heard bells ringing on a Sunday?

The significance or meaning of said sculpture escapes my philistine mind but I heard Lord Mayor Sally Capp gush about it just now. Wonder what the Australian Yaartz Council gave the, er, creator of this.

Philip was never a believer, he was quite blunt in saying CAGW was a load of nonsense. He provided that family with a modicum of common sense, now lost since his death.

The first question is, why did he not explicitly call it out?

    Cognitive failure alert!!!!

The senior Royals were kept well away from the Markledashians (“Harkles”) during formal proceedings in case they were wearing microphones to record for their Netflix reality TV show and Netflix cameras were banned for the Jubilee.

Megs kept fiddling with her left collar lapel, which made folk think that she had a concealed mic under it, but Security would’ve been able to detect any wireless transmissions, apparently.
