Redland City Mayor Karen Williams has been issued a notice to appear for drink driving after she recorded a blood alcohol reading of .177 – more than three times the legal limit.

Ms Williams lost control of her vehicle at the intersection of Queen and Wellington Streets, Cleveland on June 23, where she mounted a footpath and crashed through a fence into a tree following a budget ‘after party’.

The point that he makes about the need for a Conservative majority to push back against the woke is correct.

In the Weekend Oz, Dutton has plans to steer the Libs in the right direction. But he seems to be reluctant to use the label “Conservatives” to define the party. Instead he is saying that the party is neither conservative or progressive but has liberal values.

There is ugliness in the present world but a great deal of human goodness too.

    A story from another blog.

    The mystery has been solved.

About a month or so ago someone had left some potted vegetable plants on my front porch. The few people that I thought it may be that did it, said it wasn’t them.

Last night a young man and his son came to my front door to thank me and wish me a happy Fathers Day and he brought us some produce that he grew. It was he that left the plants on my porch.

A couple months ago I took a day off from work to finish up a project I had started the day before. While working on it I caught an unusual movement out of the corner of my eye. When I seen what it was I stopped what I was doing and ran after a toddler that was running down the middle of the street heading toward a fast driving country road with traffic on it. The toddler was barefoot, half naked, upset and crying. I sat with the kid at the front of my driveway waiting for a parent to come and find the kid. The postman came by to deliver mail and I asked her if she’s seen this kid on her rout, she hadn’t. She did have an app on her phone that found where the kid lived and it was local. I asked her to let the kids parents know that I have their son and he’s safe and to come and pick him up.

The father came and got him. He said that mom had just started a new job after having a period of maternity leave from their newest child. The young family is a farm family and dad was busy with feeding their youngest when the toddler took off. The kid was upset and was trying to find his mom. I told the dad that the police were not called and that child services were not called.

The young man gave us the potted plants from his farm’s greenhouse and the produce he gave us came from his farm. I told him it was very much appreciated but was absolutely not necessary. I already had my reward by being there to help and that to give god the thanks for placing me in the right place at the right time.

It’s throw them under the bus time, politics 1.01. The same will happen sometime in the future when the polies blame the climate scientist and their poor advice for our miserable declining living standards.

Nevertheless, the medicos are to blame. For informed consent, no medication should be given without advising the patient of adverse events, and that includes reading the 32 pages of adverse events even if that adds an hour to the consultation.
