So many topics in the news to discuss. I planned to take up some of them this evening. But one topic doesn’t go away.
I don’t have family in Gaza or the West Bank. No relatives, or friends or acquaintances. Personally, I am in a safe, warm and comfortable place with food, shelter, medicines and all that I need.
Yet in the past 200 days I have learnt so much of what is happening there – in the present, and events of the past. I cannot ignore it and pretend it does not matter to me, here in the safety of a country far away. Each day, I have been reading and listening and watching the stories from the war zone.
There are so many who are willing to accept the brainwashing news that is fed to them and not care about the reality. They will even parrot the responses from the same media – “Hamas” “Holocaust” “October 7”.
I can’t do very much, but I will continue to use this platform to keep sharing what I come across in the hope that it may get through to those who seek the truth. Some can say that they didn’t know the facts because they got their news from MSM. But no one who reads this blog can claim that they don’t know what is really taking place in Gaza or the Palestinian cause. For the past six months, we have posted here info from reliable sources.
What is happening in US uni campuses is a protest movement against the genocide in Gaza. Yes, some of them have been taken over by disruptive elements, but the actions by the government are not justified.
The media pack are there recording videos to suit their narrative about the persecution and harassment of Jewish students.
Here in Oz, we can find a way to mock these silly protesters.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged on Tuesday to launch an incursion into the southern Gaza city of Rafah “with or without a deal,” referring to ongoing cease-fire negotiations, in order to secure “total victory” over Hamas. “The idea that we will stop the war before achieving all of its goals is out of the question,” he said.

According to Jones, the situation in Gaza is “absolutely catastrophic,” with 80 percent of Christian homes destroyed and 4 percent of Christians killed in Gaza altogether, most of whom while attempting to find safety in a Gazan church. He also notes that the Christian community in Gaza is among the oldest in the world, established by the apostle St. James…..
“It’s hell on earth,” says Jones. “Our heart breaks that our ally Israel is behaving in such a brutal way, using our taxpayer dollars and using our weapons systems to slaughter the first century Christian community … of Gaza.”…..

I want to spend my time this afternoon on this topic and related issues.
I listen to talkback radio, when I can, as well as follow the news that is broadcast. It proves the impact of the media influence on its readers, listeners and viewers.
When we take sides on any issue, we can end up “seeing” what we want to see and arrive at a “conclusion” that fits in with our side. When I read on the internet anything about the major issues, it is easy to identify which side the commenter/tweeter belongs to. It doesn’t matter much on the issues like climate change, Covid, gender, wokeism and so on, because we can separate the right wing vs left wing. But with the bigger issues like the war in Gaza, the left vs right has become blurred. There are so many that are stuck in one position and simply refuse to look at other possibilities.
For these major topics, I have taken up the method of checking various sites – right wing, left wing, conservative, progressive, fact-based, far right, far left, in-between – so that I can read up on various viewpoints and then try to look at the situation objectively.
When we see videos, images or graffiti, it is easy to fall into the trap of believing that the reality is what we see. In the past few weeks, I have become aware of the number of set-ups, false flags, infiltration and lies to suit one side or the other.
For example, you are shown this message scrawled on a wall outside some premises:

The story gets to the media headlines and the conclusion is that it was done by Hamas supporters. There is no proof of this, and we may later discover who really did it. But that will not be prominently published by MSM news because it does not fit the bill.

With what is happening on the campuses. There are legitimate peaceful protesters on both sides. But there have been other influences that have stirred up the situation – by infiltration of the encampments and causing trouble to make it seem that the Pro Palestine protesters are violent, anti-Semitic and so on.
There are some readers/viewers who notice groups like “Queers for Palestine” standing in support with their placards and decide to make a joke of it. These are distractions from the reality. Some minority groups floating their boats for attention. “Queers for Koalas” or “Queers for Solar Panels” – it’s all the same to them. Or people who attach themselves to the latest event to be seen as “cool” or protesting for the sake of protesting against some authority.
You can listen to what the MSM tells you about what is taking place and think that those are the facts about what is happening on the campuses and why.

I have been reluctant to post articles/memes that include the word ‘Jews’ in a derogatory/negative way or as victim-hood. This is because that word can be misinterpreted.
Jews are followers of Judaism which is a religion.
Zionists are followers of Zionism which is an ideology.
This is my understanding as explained by Jews – I have posted these videos a few times. And this is how I would like to use the words ‘Jews’ and ‘Zionists’.
There are Jews – rabbis, Holocaust survivors, historians, investigative journalists, professionals and other Jews who follow Judaism – who don’t want a bar of what is being done in their name. They understand what happened in the past and don’t want it to be repeated to anyone. They are either in the group of Pro Palestine supporters or just want to go on with their lives without taking part in the cause for Palestine or Israel.
Then there are the Zionists – secular Jews and secular Christians. Their first allegiance is to the state of Israel, even at the cost of innocent lives. The current genocide and the persecution of the innocent civilians taking place in Gaza is fine, but they can claim victim-hood while living in safety, in countries far away.
I am going to be posting links related to these comments. From here on any negative meme or link with the word ‘Jews’ should be interpreted as ‘Zionists’.
