All those years clubbing and I never got sick once after being in close proximity to my fellow human beings. Sweat, coughs and spluttering from all those around me and abusing alcohol never got me into trouble. I was sucking back ciggies on the dance floor, too. It probably gave a boost to my immune system, but proving that would be difficult and would be anecdotal at best. I dabbled in MDMA too, back when it was the real stuff before ketamine hit the scene. When it did, I was one of those individuals spewing my guts up in the alleyway and overheating… sweating like you would not believe. I was thinking at the time, WTF you are you doing, idiot. I was probably close to death. It certainly felt like it. I gave all that chemical crap up very quickly after that.

Never had a flu shot, ever, and not about to start now. Why I never got sick remains a mystery. Still scratching me head over that.🤔 Do not try and replicate my stupidity if anyone in the youth age bracket is reading this.

I think they should boycott Australia:

‘The England and Wales Cricket Board has suggested a decision will be made this week on whether an England team will travel to Australia for this summer’s Ashes series.
Cricket Australia has been negotiating with the federal government, as well as the ECB, over what travel and living conditions could look like for an England touring party, including whether families would be allowed to fly with the team.
England captain Joe Root has previously suggested players mightn’t travel if families couldn’t come and/or quarantine conditions for his team during the lengthy stay were deemed too harsh.
In a statement released on Monday night (AEDT), the ECB said it’d been in talks with England players and management over the weekend, adding a call on the highly-anticipated series would likely be made within days.
“We remain in regular and positive dialogue with Cricket Australia over these arrangements as the picture is constantly evolving. With health and wellbeing at the forefront, our focus is to ensure the tour can go ahead with conditions for players and management to perform at their best,” an ECB statement read…’

Nooooooooooo, midlife crisis decision. I think the year was 1977 when I had one of these . It was Italian in every sense of motorbikes. Awful electrics and switchgear, brakes and gears on the wrong side. Even the kickstart was on the left so if you stalled it, which was really easy, you had to get off. But oh that engine and the handling and the sound. It was love. Had it for about a year and couldn’t ride it most of the time due to shit English weather which the electrics didn’t like. Many years later I found one in Perth, took it for a test ride and realised I was just too old and spoiled by modern technology which had dealt with the above quirks. The original had drop racing bars. This has normal ones so not quite true to the original. I’ve had bikes ever since and only ever been a few weeks between. But nothing came close to the riding experience with that combination.

Q: It can’t hurt to go and look at it, can it? Even though I’ve got no chance of reliving the glory days.

Former Vatican Bank President Warns COVID ‘Pandemic Is Device For Great Reset’
The former president of the Vatican Bank warned that the COVID-19 pandemic is a trojan horse for the Great Reset, a plan to reduce the global population, dismantle the free market, and erase all borders.
Ettore Gotti Tedeschi is an Italian economist who was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to head the Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR) to “get rid of the accounts that were not supposed to be there and were sometimes used for money laundering purposes.”

In an interview translated by RAIR Foundation USA, Tedeschi, who was ousted from his post in 2021, explained that the Great Reset agenda was first cultivated by globalist Henry Kissinger “at the end of the sixties and the beginning of the seventies” as the “New World Economic Order.”
But Kissinger’s vision, he said, “produced several mistakes,” and so “a second reset is needed today,” which is why the globalists are “taking advantage” of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“After fifty years, since the first reset of the seventies produced several mistakes, a second reset is needed today,” Tedeschi said.
“The current reset, commonly called ‘The Great Reset,’ is nothing but a correction of the mistakes which we have been making for the last fifty years.”
“So therefore, thanks to — or rather taking advantage of — this unfortunate situation called the ‘Covid Pandemic,’ there is the possibility to boost, or rather – I will use a strong expression – to impose or to caused to be imposed certain behaviors.”
“Nevertheless, today’s reset is the correction of the mistakes made by yesterday’s reset,” he added.

Tedeschi said the globalists decided the world was becoming too overpopulated and had to be mitigated, which occurred mainly in the Western world.
“First, a suggestion was made, that is related to the great crisis we have been witnessing in recent decades: too many births,” he said. “And as a consequence, the need to decrease the birth rate of the population.”
“What was the very first effect of this process? The birth rate dropped. But where? In the Western world. The shrinking of population took place mainly in the so-called Western world, the United States and Europe. Why is the population growth rate supposed to be reduced?”
“Because, according to the neo-Malthusian worldview, the more people are born, the more people consume, the more people waste what nature provides for us,” he added.
Notably, Great Reset architect and World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab was Kissinger’s protégé, as he studied under the former Secretary of State at Harvard University.
In summary, the Great Reset agenda is merely the continuation of Kissinger’s New World Economic Order plan repurposed by the World Economic Forum to de-industrialize the First World using the COVID pandemic as the scapegoat.

In my opinion, the zero debt can be credited 100% to Peter Costello.

John Howard has shown zero concern about Australian government gross debt soaring to a projected $2 Trillion AUD.

Whereas Costello did a sit down interview with Alan Kohler for 7.30 about three years back and totally disassociated the economy under his stewardship with the current economy that he labelled a European economy.

And remember Howard already had a stint as Treasurer. The results were not flash.

The amazing thing about Howard is that both sides of politics hate him. Over the years i have found most of the allegations against Howard are false.

In 2007 ALP supporters told me unemployment went from 8% to 4% under Howard because he manipulated the figures. Turns out that allegation was garbage.

But we were debt free in 2007 plus the Commonwealth had an extra $80B in the Future Fund. Shows you how quickly things can change. Remember when Rudd/Swan started running deficits budgets and people said it was not a problem because our debt was low??

Last year, Mr Perrottet was widely criticised for his handling of the $38 billion state-run insurance scheme icare, which is supposed to look after millions of workers when they get sick or injured on the job.

It emerged the troubled agency, set up by Mr Perrottet in 2015, had lost more than $3 billion despite cutting benefits to thousands of injured workers.

A NSW parliamentary inquiry into the scandal-plagued organisation was last year told the wife of former icare chief executive John Nagle was paid $800,000 over three years after being awarded a contract without a tender.

Been reading more Dorothy Canfield Fisher, an American author of the first and second quarters of the C20th, courtesy Gutenberg. I posted one of her essays about interior design, 100% applicable today, a few days ago.

Am currently reading one of her novels, a bit high flown for my taste, but full of zingers. For example:

“What sheep men were! … making long detours through open country to get around fences that had long since blown down. In all the centuries of Roman Emperors had there been a single one of the misfits with good enough sense to see that he had got into the wrong job, and energy enough to pull out? Galba had declined the nomination a term or two, but in the end he’d accepted office–and got his throat cut inside a year. Even a high-class mind like Marcus Aurelius could think of no solution except, after office-hours, to write a book sympathizing with himself, like a fine-haired Corporation President solacing his soul by collecting cloisonné.”

    Wow!

Now there was a lass of independent and iconoclastic bent, who could also write very well.

I love Gutenberg, one of the few survivors with the early idealism surrounding that internet thingy. Free, relying on volunteers, and AFAIK no ideological takeover so far. For example, one of their recent releases was an early treatise on cannibalism among Australian Aborigines.
