Funny thing is that one of the first things actual paid to post, professional propagandists attacked me with were cries of, “Conspiracy Nut!”, when I pointed out how Google hid specifically searched for information when building a case to expose propagandists, how Wikipedia kept hiding & changing info when you were putting two & two together against control freaks and how Snopes was a, ‘How can we spin this truth that hurts the agenda, to declare it a lie?’

That was a very long time ago, when those things were new and people still wanted to believe that Govts wanted us all hooked up to the World Wide WEB of Deception for our individual edification rather than their enhanced programming of us, that TV & Radio were losing the power to do.

    This is really interesting.

In a past time and place, there was a poster on a blog who would bombard the joint with all manner of offensive rubbish. Anyone who dared to engage this elderly, name-tag-wearing muppet would be castigated by tut-tutters.

    ‘Don’t engage it’, they said.
‘If you ignore it, it will go away’, they said.
‘It just wants attention’, they said.
‘Don’t give it oxygen’, they said.

And even despite personally putting shit on the blog owner, this cretin was allowed free rein. From observations, and only observations, it would appear this pancake was allowed to post what it wanted because the previous blog owner had an aversion to something said pancake was forced to undertake* 50 years ago.

The only effective solution was sustained parody and ridicule, which the oh-so-serious types loathe.

    TBC.

Yet the only apparent solution – given that this particular pancake is also allowed free rein, and also that much like the previous entity we are in someone else’s lounge room and therefore bound by the lounge room owner’s rules – still appears to be not taking this Radio Rental peanut seriously and subjecting it to parody.

Something not right in this story, for sure.

In this case I think incompetence and wishful thinking is the root cause. Unfortunately to understand appropriate approaches to managing Islam, and Islamists, goes in the exact opposite direction of woke orthodoxy. Especially when the woke left think they’re allied with the muslims. So it is very hard for the military thinkers to grasp that the nation building approach just does not work. And the only other approach that does work is the Russian policy in Chechnya. Rightly they reject that horrible Tacitan option.

I’ve said many times on the old Cat that the approach which works is the retribution model. The Israelis have learned it. Whenever an islamic kiddie does something you dislike you go in with B-52s and flatten all their stuff. Especially the houses and heroin labs of the elites. Do this several times and the elites start to find excuses why flying planes into buildings isn’t auspicious next week. Or any week. The boss guys like their stuff, and dislike it being blown up.

Daniel Greenfield has a blog post from Friday which says the same as this, which makes me a little chuffed.

There Was Never a Solution to Afghanistan (13 Aug)

The temptation to stabilize a source of instability is geopolitically rational, but doomed by culture. The nation-builders were right that failing to stabilize Iraq or Afghanistan meant that we would get dragged back in. It already happened in Iraq, the odds of it happening at some point in Afghanistan are pretty good.

But that means we’ll have to learn to live with an Israeli model of occasional brief interventions with low casualties rather than extended engagements. We are done with trying to replicate WW2 or Vietnam all over again. Or at least we should be.

He then acknowledges the short term fix nature of this policy, in light of islamists getting ahold of really dangerous stuff, like nukes. But the only, and I mean only, real answer is one which democratic nations cannot do without losing their souls. So the only available practical option we have is whack-a-mole and blowing up the leaders’ stuff, and hope they find innovative ways of keeping their kiddies from misbehaving too much. So far Israel has been successful at that, but what will happen when Iran gets nukes I have no idea.

Cops were all Masons? Maybe in SA, dunno.

In NSW, for a long time the Commissioner's job alternated between Catholics and Proddies, in recognition of the need to work together.

It is true that State and Federal government departments were dominated by one or the other religious group for a while. In the Feds, for example, Health was Proddy and Supply was Catholic. When I worked as a temp at RPA in NSW in the late 1970s, the boss of my section (medical records) openly wore a Masonic ring.

There is a rich vein of social and political history awaiting an ambitious and hard working researcher to write a book about this topic. I can't understand why it hasn't happened, unless it is that gender studies is easier and more rewarding.

Yep, Tom – and I can’t good conscience go with that flow.

But a better analogy would be Atlantis. Catallaxy no longer exists, folks. It slipped beneath the waves and currents. As somebody who formerly had access to its posting dashboard, I can assure you of that. It literally doesn’t exist.

Were this site to be examined by the media, they would find ample proof of Storm Front-like material and would assume – understandably – that I (and everybody else) either endorsed it or dismissed it as so much harmless fare for the scroll-wheel.
